An otherwise-good, 1986 release from Western Visuals and Jerome Tanner, the version of this flick available at adultempire.com as a part of their (...excellent, I might add...) unlimited streaming service seems to be missing the last few scenes (at least according to the scene list at iafd.com). Interestingly, a quick check of various other digital porn providers seems to indicate that this is the rule and not the exception. This sad decision on someone's part, of course, means that the plot is cut short, as is the sex. That said, what is included is still hot, and the Amber Lynn, Tom Byron, John Holmes boinking remains intact. The views of the sex are explicit yet pretty. The costumes are a hoot: the perfect swizzle of elegance and tackiness, just right for a porno about a porno. "Hidden Obsessions" is an incredible presentation, and anyone who is familiar with Andrew Blake's work knows about his style of porn. Cameron Grants Fantasy Chamber, shot on film, could have been an incredible DVD. Essentially its a collection of beautiful sex scenes. The performers are exceptionally attractive, the scenery is erotically intriguing, and the music is excitingly sensual. Sadly, the video quality is poor enough for me to notice. The Dark Brothers' "New Wave Hookers" was an original (before the numerous sequels), hot, hilarious movie upon its release in 1985 and some, but not all of those elements hold up today. The story involves two slackers, Jimmy (Jamie Gillis) and Jamal (Jack Baker), who spend their time drinking beer and watching porn videos. As the movie begins, Jimmy tells Jamal they should become pimps and open an escort service, New Wave Hookers, where the girls would fuck to new wave music. They soon fall asleep, where they are transported into another world: They now run New Wave Hookers Incorporated and have a "dog" (Steve Powers), who telepathically receives phone calls. Their first girl is Candy (Desiree Lane), who skates into their office. Jimmy and the "dog" try her out, while Jimmy watches and masturbates (Jack Baker was actually a legitimate actor, playing Sticks on "Happy Days", and his sexual acts are limited to self-gratification and oral sex). The Dark Brothers' "New Wave Hookers" was an original (before the numerous sequels), hot, hilarious movie upon its release in 1985 and some, but not all of those elements hold up today. The story involves two slackers, Jimmy (Jamie Gillis) and Jamal (Jack Baker), who spend their time drinking beer and watching porn videos. As the movie begins, Jimmy tells Jamal they should become pimps and open an escort service, New Wave Hookers, where the girls would fuck to new wave music. They soon fall asleep, where they are transported into another world: They now run New Wave Hookers Incorporated and have a "dog" (Steve Powers), who telepathically receives phone calls. Their first girl is Candy (Desiree Lane), who skates into their office. Why am I reviewing this movie now? Well, I've never seen it before. Flashpoint was filmed in 1997 and debuted on VHS in 1998 (I think); the eagerly-anticipated DVD followed in 1999. After enjoying Loaded (featuring Jesse Jane) recently, I thought I'd give a shot at one of the most celebrated adult feature films in the last five or so years. Without a doubt, Jenna Jameson is the biggest adult film star since the late Nineties, but to be honest, I can't count myself amongst the Jenna worshippers. I don't know why this is; she's actually a decent actress and her sex scenes are usually very high caliber. Flashpoint's cast reads like a Who's Who in porn for the late Nineties. We've seen all of them in scenes after this, but watching this 6+ years after it was shot makes them look especially nice; it's like watching Faye Dunaway in Chinatown.
