Initial Expectations: Face Dance Part 1 was one of, if not the best adult films I have ever seen. I have no reason to expect anything different here.
Initial Reaction: It’s good, but nowhere as good as the first half. There isn’t as much plot but it’s much more sexual than the first half.
Audio /Video Quality: As with the first part, the audio is excellent. Face Dance Part 2 was originally shot back in 1992 so some grain is expected and is also about the same as the first part.
Music: The music ranges from soft, smooth jazz to driving rock. It fits the many moods of the movie.
Review: As I said earlier, Face Dance Part 1 is one of the best adult films I’ve watched. In addition to great sex there was a very good plot about Dario (Rocco Siffredi), as Italian porn star who comes to America to make a mainstream movie. The people in charge of the movie don’t know that Dario was a porn star and those who know keep it a secret as the people in charge are anti-porn. Dario doesn’t like lying to people and constantly tries to find a way to keep his job as well as be honest with people about his past. Things aren’t helped by Julian (Joey Silvera), the director who’s rehearsals are mostly long sexual teases mixed with the actors reciting their lines. It’s a good plot and it’s mixed with the sex scenes very well. Unfortunately, Face Dance Part 2 doesn’t follow its predecessor that well. That isn’t to say that Face Dance Part 2 isn’t any good. It’s good, just not as good as its predecessor.
Things start out with Dario and John looking over the ocean outside John’s home. Dario is still upset about having to lie to people and loving the view. John also loves the view calling it his reward for being a ‘good pervert’. They head inside where Dario helps the girls get ready for John’s next scene. The girls all want Dario to stay and be in the scene, but Dario has to go to his rehearsal. The rehearsal, which of course Dario shows up late for, consists mostly of Anna (Tina Tyler looking extremely hot) dancing for the actors (Steve Drake, Tony Tedeschi, and Nick East). She does a little pole dance for them, but Susan (Tiffany Millions) doesn’t like it. She thinks it’s way too Junior High and shows Anna how it should be done. Please excuse my drooling here. Between Tiffany on the pole and the great ass shots that John’s giving us there’s only so much a mere mortal man can take. Susan notices that Dario has finally shown up and has him get into the scene with Anna. Julian (Joey Silvera) wants the truth, freedom, and sex inside Dario, but Dario is too distracted to get involved in the rehearsal. Julian tells Dario to take the rest of the day off and go get his check.
Ian (Chris Newz) gives Dario his check before he has to take a quick phone call. Liz (Kiss) follows him into the next room and shows him the butt plug she’s been wearing. He wants nothing to do with her and sends her back out to Dario. She tells Dario that she’s seen one of his movies and lets him guess which one after showing him the plug. Dario is extremely turned on and is very receptive for her sloppy blowjob. Ian finishes his phone call and gets a quick feel from Jill (Rebecca Bardoux) before they both head out to join in the action. This is a hot scene! Maybe even the hottest in the movie. There’s a lot of trading back and forth and Kiss really smokes in this scene. She’s got a hot body that just doesn’t quit and her sexual appetite matches it. I know she’s also in some of the Buttman movies, and I can’t wait to see them. Chris is in and out of the scene, but is there to help Rocco cover the girls’ faces with jizz.
Julian and Susan both know that Dario is distracted and are concerned about him. They go on with the rehearsal where most of the movie’s cast (Tina, Steve, Tony, and Nick with the addition of Francesca Le, Brittany O’Connell, and Cody O’Conner) sit around at the bar getting acquainted with the herb. There’s a little coke there too, but nobody really touches it. The camera floats around in the haze and a couple of the girls push it away. It’s a great effect with the drugs present. Dario shows up and they have him sits against the pole while the girls dance around him each one, starting with Anna taking a turn to taunt him with their fine asses. Susan comes in and watches the end of the ‘rehearsal’ from the back of the room enjoying the taunting the girls are giving Rocco. Julian prompts him for a line and Dario finally has enough. He’s sick of lying and thinks Julian is only making things worse. Susan tries to defend their actions, but Dario sees that most of her interest is in herself so he quits the movie.
Julian and the other actors hate to see the rehearsal ruined, so they take to the stage to ‘help’ the girls learn. The orgy lasts for quite a while and is very good for an orgy scene. I normally don’t care for orgies since nobody ever seems to get enough screen time. Of course, Tina doesn’t get enough time here, but I guess some people want to see the other girls too. Nevertheless, John does a great job balancing all the people and it ends up as a great orgy scene.
Dario heads to one of the only places he feels comfortable, John’s house. Nobody answers the door, so he heads around back to see Sierra and Chrissy Ann inside. John shows up with Tom Byron and they get ready to film a scene. They see Dario watching them out the window and have him come in to help with the scene. Sierra and Chrissy really go wild on Tom and Dario making this scene rank right up there with Rocco, Chris, Kiss, and Rebecca’s foursome earlier. Afterwards Dario tells everybody that he’s heading back to Italy because they care about the person and the talent in Italy rather than if the person has done porn before. I think I heard the story before. It’s the lost Hans Christian Anderson’s ‘The Not So Little Porn Star Who Could Again and Again’.
At a later rehearsal Susan tells the actors that the rehearsals are over since Dario quit. Things look like there’s going to be another gangbang, like at the end of Face Dance Part 1, but Dario walks in. He doesn’t want to quit and tries to get Susan to tell everybody the truth about him. She runs off and Dario chases her. They end up rehearsing the opening scene from Face Dance Part 1 complete with the shower. Susan ends up sending the guys away when they want to continue the scene, and Dario takes over. Ahhhh. A happy end for Dario. A hot ending for the rest of us.
I was really disappointed when I finished watching Face Dance Part 2 . This was partially because of the extras, which I will cover later, but the movie didn’t keep up the momentum from the first half. The more I think about it, the more it grows on me. It still doesn’t equal Face Dance Part 1, but it’s defiantly worth watching. The plot isn’t as strong here and it feels more like a reason to watch a lot of group and anal sex. At least it’s a good reason.
I really liked the style of Face Dance Part 2 , but I think you have to watch a Buttman movie or two to really appreciate some of it (or maybe you don’t). The style is very experimental, and I say that only because I’ve never seen a movie quite like it. It’s done in much the same style as the Buttman movies but with a more mainstream porno. As an experimental style, it succeeds very well. It gives a very fresh and in-your-face feel to the movie. I don’t remember for sure, but I think Wild Goose Chase was done in much the same style. I might actually have to dirty myself by breaking out my old VHS copy to find out. Either that or beg like a dog for Evil Angel to release it on DVD with as great a DVD as they’ve done on Face Dance Part 1 and some of the Buttman movies.
Extras: Evil Angel raises chapters to an extras level. If you want to go to a certain chapter, the chapters are listed by the stars rather than a number. It’s great if you’re looking for a certain star or if you want to know who a certain star is. Evil Angel also gives you extra menu choices. There’s both a fetish menu and a specialty menu. If you want to see a blowjob, anal sex, or most anything else, the fetish menu lets you know where all of them are in the movie so you can go to which ever one you’d like. The specialty menu has things like butt plugs. It seems like a minor thing, but it really shows a lot of care for the viewer. I wish more studios would follow Evil Angel’s example of how menus should be done.
There’s a manual photo gallery that’s a little below par. I like manual photo galleries as I like to control how fast I watch them. There’s 46 pictures in this one, which is great. Unfortunately they don’t look too good. The pictures are all very grainy and kind of fuzzy. On the plus side, there’s a real good spread of stills from the movie.
There’s a few screens with the history of Face Dance as well as a bio of Rocco and autobiographical piece about John. The history screen lets you know all the awards that Face Dance earned. I don’t know if won is the right word after how good Face Dance is as a whole. John’s autobiography and Rocco’s biography are the same as in Face Dance Part 1, but if you haven’t read them already they are both pretty interesting.
Unfortunately, John talking about the movie is also the same as in Face Dance Part 1. It lasts about 32 minutes and is pretty good, but all he talks about is Face Dance Part 1. I don’t think John even mentions Face Dance Part 2 . This was a major disappointment as it was a great extra in the first half and I really looked forward to it for this half. Sadly, with this featurette left exactly like it was on Face Dance Part 1 it looks like Evil Angel didn’t really care much about this release. This is very unusual for Evil Angel, as they normally appear to put a lot of care into their releases.
Themes: Straight, anal, light lesbian, rimming (male > female, female > female, and female > male), DP, group, spanking, tit- fucking, and male anal stimulation
Raincoat Factor: Very high. There’s plot, but Face Dance Part 2 is much more sex oriented than Face Dance Part 1.
Overall: Currently, Face Dance Part 2 can be found online for between $20 and $30 with most stores offering it for about $25. If you’ve seen the first half you’re going to want to see the second half, but I wouldn’t pay more than $25 for it. Unless you’re a major butt-lover I’d even think about renting it first.

Update: Shortly after this review was posted I was contacted by Tricia Devereaux of Evil Angel about the commentary problem. We have communicated back and forth a little bit about the commentary mistake. Face Dance Part 2 was released on DVD before Tricia started at Evil Angel and they were not aware of the mix-up until reading this review. She apologized and says that Evil Angel is trying to find the correct commentary for Face Dance 2 . If they can find it, Evil Angel will be fixing the DVD so it has the correct commentary. It may take a little time, however, as the commentary was done well over a year ago. Although the mistake did happen, I have to give Evil Angel a lot of credit for the quick contact after reading the review and trying to find the commentary so that the DVD can be done right. It says a lot about the quality of the company and is part of the reason I have been so impressed with Evil Angel.
