Both films suffer from the same issue, a lack of a plot and some lacking set design, but both have the same positive to them, some excellent sex scenes. Fans of Dumont will obviously want to pick up this release fans of the genre may ultimately be disappointed by the films on the release. They are swingers, and often go to parties thrown by their neighbor "Diana"(Honey Wilder) at a local club called "Plato's Retreat", where basically anything goes, when it comes to sex. Both Lisa and Dan are very open in their relationship and are allowed to have relations with others, however, they have but one rule. They are not to sleep with each other's friends. The Original Sex Academy is a prime example of how adult movies went wrong when they switched from shot on film productions to shot on video productions. The Original Sex Academy capitalizes on the name of Police Academy, but that is as far as any connection between the two movies. The Original Sex Academy is a series of sex scenes with some plotted portions between them to make the movie look like a feature movie. The sex scenes are average. There isn't any real reason to see this movie. Gourmet Video has done a better than their average job but still not average job with their DVD release with acceptable video and audio quality.
