Mata Hari (aka Sex Life of Mata Hari) Review

Review:
A British investigation of the historically notorious courtesan, exotic dancer, and purported double-agent, Mata Hari, at her German-occupied brothel turns up far more fucking that it does evidence of wrong-doing...and no one would have it any other way. Such is the case in the "Sex Life of Mata Hari", a very good, 1988 release from Gourmet Video and director Max Schenk. Well-captured and filmed in both realistic settings and period-appropriate costuming, this nice, little slice of historical porn offers up the lovely redhead, Shanna McCullough, as Mata Hari, whose various World War I exploits ultimately ended tragically for her in front of a French firing squad. While there's ongoing debate about her guilt or innocence in the real world, that's all really a side-note here in porno fantasy land, as the focus lies firmly upon the sex that plays out in the bordello from start to finish in this fine flick. Needless to say, McCullough plays her part well and looks great. She's further bolstered by the likes of Megan Leigh (RIP) and Alicia Monet (RIP), both big names in the industry at the time, who also put forth strong performances in a couple of sequences each. That's easily enough star power--and plain hotness--to carry the fucking throughout. Plot-wise, things never get super-complicated, though there's enough of a unique storyline to be interesting and to frame the sex well. The acting is fine, as well, and faux-accents are always fun. For fans of war porn, historical porn, McCullough, Monet, and/or Leigh, this one is probably worth a look. I found it an enjoyably sexy break from the norm that also had me learning a bit more about its historical subject matter.

In terms of the sex, Scene One has Shanna McCullough (as Mata Hari), shaking her bejingled, belly-dancer self for a German soldier, Joey Silvera, at her brothel, prior to getting him into the sack. She sucks and fucks him until he blows a load all over her ass out of doggy. In Scene Two, another German, the tuxedo-clad Mike Horner, pays a visit to one of the brothel's other ladies, the lovely blonde, Megan Leigh, who's simply aching to get out of her red evening dress for the dapper gentleman. They vent their sexual frustrations with a steamy fucking (oral and vaginal) that culminates in a pop-shot on her bush out of missionary. Scene Three brings together a French agent, Billy Dee, and another of the working girls at the bordello, the stunning Alicia Monet, after Billy stumbles upon her in the bathroom taking a bubble bath whilst making a hasty getaway. An impassioned oral and vaginal pounding proceeds, with Ms. Monet looking incredible (and bubbly) throughout. Billy ejaculates on her backside in capping off this carnal caper. In Scene Four, Megan and Viper help relax the lovely Shana (Mata Hari) in the best way that they know how...with their fingers and their tongues. A full-on, all-girl three-way unfolds, with the ladies clearly into one another's well-sampled delights. Scene Five offers up both Viper and Alicia Monet to Joey Silvera, who's still hanging around the house of ill fame. Apparently, they've been naughty, as he makes Viper spank Alicia and vice versa, and then--after putting them through further paces--the trio gets down to the real fun...which is fucking. Ms. Monet fields the "D" here, with Viper lending a helping hand (...and mouth...) throughout, including after Silvera's dropped one on Alicia's thigh. In Scene Six, Shanna (Mata Hari) uses her supremely enchanting charms to diffuse a bad situation between Mike Horner and Billy Dee. A cut ushers in a quick, but frenzied, schtupping between her and Horner, finishing off with a cum-shot on her tummy. Super-hot stuff from sticky start to fornicating finish! There's nothing like some World War I sex to sate the pornographic palate.
