Superstars Of Porno 1 (Cal Vista Classics) Review

jayo wrote an excellent, detailed review of this DVD. You can find his review by looking to the upper right hand corner of this page. I couldn’t handle the details nearly as well, and quite frankly I don’t think the DVD is worth of a whole lot of details. I will just give a few of my thoughts.

Classic porn can be interesting, maybe even arousing. It is nice to see the naked flesh of yesteryear. It is nice to see natural breasts bounce and bush (though there was a bit too much growth). The women were mostly attractive, but were they superstars? I was only familiar with Amber Lynn and Nina Hartley. I guess ‘superstars’ is an oft abused term in more entertainment than just porn, so let’s just agree that it is subjective. You can read the box cover. If you recognize and like enough names on the cover, then you may want to buy it, so long as you realize the a/v is going to be quite bad by today’s standards.

The choice of what history to present is one issue, but the presentation is another. It shouldn’t have taken much time to modernize the presentation of the source material and treat the history of porn in some type of reverent manner, but aside from the bonus material there was no identification of where the scenes came from. Heck! Many of the girls aren’t identified. There is even a scene where no one is credited.
Plus the menu is very hard to navigate. The choices are in white. Your selection is in off-white.

Bottom Line: If there are quite a few stars listed on the boxcover that you want to see again then you may want to pick it up. If you are just a bit curious to see porn of the past, I assume there is plenty out there that is better. Just don’t pay much for it. The lack of care taken in presentation doesn’t deserve much of your money.
