Why am I reviewing this movie now? Well, I've never seen it before. Flashpoint was filmed in 1997 and debuted on VHS in 1998 (I think); the eagerly-anticipated DVD followed in 1999. After enjoying Loaded (featuring Jesse Jane) recently, I thought I'd give a shot at one of the most celebrated adult feature films in the last five or so years.

Without a doubt, Jenna Jameson is the biggest adult film star since the late Nineties, but to be honest, I can't count myself amongst the Jenna worshippers. I don't know why this is; she's actually a decent actress and her sex scenes are usually very high caliber.

Flashpoint's cast reads like a Who's Who in porn for the late Nineties. We've seen all of them in scenes after this, but watching this 6+ years after it was shot makes them look especially nice; it's like watching Faye Dunaway in Chinatown. Jenna's probably at the pinnacle of her adult career in Flashpoint.

The Story

Tragedy strikes as a firefighter gets killed in the line of duty. Among the many who mourn his passing at his funeral service is megababe Jenna Jameson, a fellow firefighter. After the ceremony, she is confronted by her ex, but before things get nasty, Mickey G steps in.

Back at the station house, Mickey G consoles his big titted babe with his dick. Filmed in 1997, Jenna is looking mighty fine. He pumps her pussy in a few positions, and then unloads across her Walmart tits. (Okay, they're not Walmart, but they're off-the-rack LA/OC tits. God bless Beverly Hills plastic surgeons!)

The lieutenant (Steve Drake) is restless because of his colleague's death. Or is it because Jill Kelly and Johnni Black are awake and playing cards without him? Jill is actually halfway decent in delivering her lines, but I have never seen Johnni Black take back seat to another woman. Drake focuses almost all of his attention on Johnni who eventually gets plugged in her ass and takes his load all over her butt.

A possible drowning rouses the firefighters; most of them race off to the rescue, leaving Mickey G. and Jill back at the station. Jill is worried that he's working injured, using painkillers to combat chronic pain, but he brushes her off. Meanwhile, the rescue team revives the bikini-clad drowning victim (Sydnee?); Jenna is troubled by the action as it unwakens memories she's rather keep forgotten.

Back at the station, Mickey's horse pills are resulting in some strange dreams. Dreams that include most of the fire brigade participating in any orgy on the hook-and-ladder. This is all fine and well except for the dreaded "feature-film slow-motion." Argghhh.

Not soon enough, we're back in the action. This time, a jumper threatens to take his life. Jenna steps into to cover for the psych team (why is the psych team always late in movies? Anyone?) There's a little mayhem, but she eventually ends up saving this sorry ass.

Price and Morgan have a hot date tonight. Doh! It's their rescuees from the pool party! Well, if the girls start drowning in cum, at least they have a good chance at getting saved.

Asia Carrera and Jonathan Morgan are skinny dipping in the hot tub; Asia looks stunning as she administers expert oral attention on Morgan's pole. Too soon, they are back indoors joining Eric Price and Sydnee Steele. There is partner swapping and multiple position changes. Morgan pulls out of Sydnee's ass and shoots his wad over her neatly trimmed pubes. Price shoots his load on the waiting faces of Sydnee and Asia.

Back at the station, TT Boy and Jenna are bunkmates. After a short repartee, Jenna goes to sleep as TT Boy reads his men's magazine. I've always admired the energy and dedication that TT Boy puts into his performances (whether it be non-sex acting or fucking); sometimes he might be better off toning it down a notch, but nobody can say that he didn't try hard enough.

In a dream sequence (whose?), Jenna is gyrating in red leather (or is it PVC?) in a "burning building" fetish scene. TT Boy magically appears and soon the hot blonde is sucking his cock. TT has always been enthusiastic about eating pussy and who wouldn't want to lick Jenna's? He pumps her pussy but not at his often frenetic pace; he spurts his load onto her mouth and chest.

Some silliness ensues, but then we're back to seriousness. (Yeah, right.) Missy's car has broke down in front of the fire station (how convenient) and she asks Jonathan Morgan if she can borrow the phone to call for help. Along with Johnni Black, Missy is one of my favorite blonde performers of the past five years. Missy does not disappoint in this scene. Her ass must feel especially good because he shoots his load rather quickly.

Jenna and Brittany Andrews are finishing up dinner at a nice restaurant (it looks like they're drinking water though... WTF?). While it's not on the menu, this joint apparently serves tuna taco. They adjourn to the ladies room (curiously empty) where they finish their fun.

Just in case there are a few others like me who haven't see this movie until now, I won't say how this ends.

Post-mortem

This film has not aged as gracefully as some other Wicked features (e.g., Armstrong's Dreamquest still looks great). The lighting was a little too soap opera-like and some of the sex scenes were hampered by slow motion effects. Worse, the story was a bit muddy and full of unnecessary diversions. On the bright side, the film includes two of my favorite blondes from this era: Missy and Johnni Black.

The girls look great and while porn guys tend to be a scruffy looking lot, they mostly look like they belong in a firehouse. I subtracted a full point off the Audio/Video Quality score because of the slow-mo sex. I lopped off a point from the Acting/Plot Score because the plot was a bit hazy; Armstrong should have kept things simpler, or tried harder to explain things.

That said, Brad Armstrong should be proud to have made this film. At the time, it was probably the very best feature in adult film. It's still an enjoyable watch, but one that you'd rent first before making a purchase decision (maybe pick it up used). If you're a Jenna Jameson fan, well, you probably already have this (duh).
