Date From Hell Review

Once again, Jonathan Morgan has brought the porn world another quirky porn parody, this time taking direct aim at the Twilight Zon, or at least using the Twilight Zone motif to tell his tales of the chilling dating scene where nothing is what it seems to be, or at least nothing is what people want it to be.

The film starts with Serenity, Johnnie Black, Steve Hatcher, and Steve Drave waiting for the arrival of their slightly late group therapist, who just happens to be Ron Jeremy, who then asks each individual to relate their stories of the horrors of the Date from Hell.

Serenity, who plays a whiney ditzy airhead, describes how she fantasizes how her date, Tony Tedeshi, would sweep her off her feet and carry her over to a fancy restaurant, where he fucked her hard. The sex in the scene is quite good, especially for a couples movie. Serenity's performance is especially strong in both missionary and reverse cowgirl. Reality, however, is something else when Tedeshi turns out to be a clumsy idiot, much to Serenity's shame.

Steve Hatcher next tells how he hired a prostitue, who in his dreams was the beautiful Leanna Heart, who goes ight to work on the sex. Their scene was truly passionate, the volumptuous brunette truly spectular in reverse cowgirl. Unfortunately, in reality, Hatcher's hooker turns out to be Jeremy in drag.

Serenity then tells a second story in which she visits her boyfriend, Ian Daniels, and how they have sex for the first time. The room is completely dark, except for a stretch of light that is supposed to emulate moonlight, and even in such darkness, Serenity's passion shines through. Unfortunately, when the lights come on, Daniels proves to be a bit too gothic for Serenity, who runs shrieking from the apartment.

Johnnie Black then tells how she meets a prince of Europe over the computer, and how he picks her up in his limo for some warm sex. This scene is the weakest f the film, but it's still quite good nevertheless. Unfortunately, when the limo stops, Johnnie learns that her new lover is actually a Neo-Nazi homosexual, and she runs away screaming.

Steve Drake tells the story of his pretty little student Mandi Frost, an adorable redhead that Drake gets to enjoy after they fall asleep in his apartment. The sex is good, even if only the reverse cowgirl postion holds any real passion. After that, Mandi stalks Mr. Drake, including being Jeremy in disguise.

When Drake runs out, that leaves Serenity and Johnnie Black alone for some girl/girl exploration. Unfortunately, while the scene is quite passionate, with great nipple rubbing and the use of a double dildo, the music, heavy guitar, is all wrong for the mood. A really bad choice by Morgan, even if the two girls more than make up for this one mistake. Unfortunately for Serenity, Johnnie turns out to be Serenity's first male lover after a little operation.

While the ending is a bit disturbing, Date From Hell, is a very funny and quality adult film with enough sensual passion to be enjoyable on every level. Truly one of Jonathan Morgan's finest works.
