The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I don’t think I noticed a single background noise. Unfortunately, there is a small area where the audio and video don’t synch or where it was dubbed. The video is also very nicely done. There’s just a hint of grain and it’s lit very nicely. For the age of this movie, it looks and sounds great!

Music: The music has a decent rock feel that works well for the scenes. It’s nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Borderline False Advertising: Although it’s not listed in the special features on the back cover, the screen shot of the menus shows All Access: The Making of Date From Hell being on the DVD. I didn’t find it anywhere. Since it’s not actually listed in the special features I’m not deducting anything from the overall score, but I am tempted to.

Menus: The main menu is fun and sets a good first impression. The chapter menu is pretty average and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Jonathan Morgan channels Rod Sterling with The Twilight Tone. In it, four people (Serenity, Johnni Black, Steve Drake, and Steve Hatcher) attend a support group led by Ron Jeremy. It’s a Date From Hell group where everybody shares stories about their date from Hell.

Scene 1 - Serenity and Tony Tedeschi

Serenity learns about answering personal ads in the opening scene. When Tony does everything right and proposed to her on their first date, Serenity can’t help but give it up to him right in the middle of the restaurant. She lets him strip her down and kiss his way between her luscious thighs before he goes directly to fucking her missionary style on the table. Not wanting him to do all the work, Serenity climbs up to ride him reverse cowgirl style before letting Tony have a little control back fucking her from behind. Finally, Serenity gets down to suck Tony until he almost pops on her chin.

This is a pretty good scene. Serenity and Tony have great chemistry and put great energy into it as well. Unfortunately, there are a couple problems. First, the editing style cut out any position changes. Thankfully the chemistry helped me past this. The bigger problem was the ending as Tony barely had enough guy goo to make it to Serenity’s chin. Thankfully neither of these problems were dealbreakers, and the scene ends up fairly hot.

Scene 2 - Leanna Heart and Steve Hatcher

When Steve decides it’s time to lose his virginity and calls an escort service, he dreams of Leanna coming to take care of him. She shows up in a shiny and skimpy black outfit, pushes him back onto his couch, and goes right to work warming up his cock with her mouth and pierced tongue. Leanna and Steve have some nice chemistry and I love her cum play at the end. They put some nice energy into the scene, and the camera even tries showing a bit of a position change. This is a nice scene.

Scene 3 - Serenity and Ian Daniels

Serenity starts out liking how Ian placed the couch in the middle of his dark living room so it will be in the perfect spot to catch the moonlight. This is a pretty good scene with decent chemistry. As usual, Serenity puts out some great energy and shows some great oral talent. The camera angle seems a little off at times, but it does mix things up fairly well. It’s a pretty hot scene which would have been better with a decent pop at the end.

Scene 4 - Johnni Black and Wilde Oscar

Chain smoking Johnni meets Prince Wilde Oscar over the internet and decides to hook up with him so that he can retain his throne. When she gets in his limo, she can’t help but fall for his offer of repayment and kisses him passionately. She lets Wilde tongue her twat before taking his cock into her throat in reciprocation. This is a hot scene. Johnni and Wilde Oscar have very nice chemistry and the camera work mixes things up decent. It has a lot of close-ups and really gives the scene a claustrophobic feel. The lighting is a little odd, but I think that’s due to the sunroof in the limo. This is a very nice scene and moves at a great pace.

Scene 5 - Mandi Frost and Steve Drake

When it gets late he offers to give her a ride home, but Mandi would rather stay there hoping Steve will take advantage of her. Steve knows how to take a hint, and they kiss and grope while helping each other undress. This is a great scene. Mandi and Steve have great chemistry and energy, and keep things moving along very well. The camera mixes things up nicely and immediately drew me in. This is a hot scene.

Scene 6 - Serenity and Johnni Black

When Serenity wants to give up men and dating, Johnni decides to give her another option. She crawls across the table and goes after Serenity’s tits before dropping her top so Serenity can taste test her tits. This is another nice scene. Johnni and Serenity go at it really well, but the scene’s a bit short. I really would have liked this scene to have gone on for about twice as long as it did, but eve with its short length it’s enjoyable and hot.

Date From Hell is a fun piece of adult fluff from Jonathan Morgan. I love the idea of the Date From Hell Support Group, and the stories that set up each of the scenes are always fun. It’s never anything deep, but I’m sure there’s something there that almost everybody can relate to. The sex is also nicely done while remaining very couples friendly. The camera work varies a little (in the good way), and there’s normally nice chemistry and energy. I would have liked a few more position changes to have been shown, but the action was normally good enough that I never was thrown by it too much. Date From Hell is a hot, fun movie that’s worth checking out with that special somebody.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts over two minutes with roughly four seconds per decent looking full screen photo. Trailers are included for Dream Quest, Hell on Heels, Knockout, Sex Safari, and Spellbound. Star stats are included for Serenity, Johnni Black, Leanna Heart, Mandi Frost, and Ian Daniels. Each section gives you a little personal information on the star, a list of their Wicked credits, a few photos, and a link to the star’s scene. Serenity, Leanna, and Mandi also have Star Galleries, which last between a minute and a minute and a half each. Finally, there’s bloopers, promotional materials, a company profile, web links, a listing of Wicked’s award winning and nominated movies, the Wicked Casino, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition.

The blooper reel lasts nearly six minutes. There’s a little screwing around on the set, plenty of flubbed lines, and even a physical blooper or two. It’s a nice little mix of mix-ups, and adds a bit to the overall DVD.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most Wicked DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $30 with most stores offering them around $22. At the lower end, this one’s worth checking out. The setups are fun and the sex is hot. There’s some decent effort put into the technical aspects and the extras have a little effort put into them as well. This is a nice DVD.
