Audio /Video Quality: The transfer is very good for the age of the feature. The audio is pretty clear and nicely balanced. The video has a little grain, but looks pretty good for its age.

Music: The music is balanced fairly well, but isn’t there through all of the scenes. When it is there it’s pretty standard porn music.

Menus: The menus revolve nicely around the sex club theme of the feature and nicely incorporate clips from the feature. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip and a title for the scene.

Disc Problems: In Anna Malle’s bio, when you select the link to the scene, instead of taking you to Anna’s it takes you to the scene right before it with Selena. It’s a very minor problem, but still a problem.

The Feature: In Phantasm, couple T. T. Boy and Asia Carrera take on the challenge of the Fantasia club in hopes of making it to the top of the club and winning a free membership and the partner of their choice. They each have to make it through three sexual challenges. Few have made it to the top of the top, but I’m sure many have enjoyed the trip.

Perhaps I had too high of expectations for Phantasm due to it having both Asia and Jenna, but it kind of hit and missed. The story is pretty average and is handled fairly well. The sex is also pretty good, especially Asia’s first two scenes, but the direction left me a bit cold at times. Most of the sex is group sex and the camera had a tendency to focus on one person in the group rather than mixing things up or giving a bunch of group shots. It makes the scenes a little boring and doesn’t give you a feeling like you completely know what’s going on in the scene. I’d suggest renting this one first, since quite a few fans will probably be a little disappointed.

Overall: Currently, Phantasm can be found online for between $23 and $30 with most stores offering it for around $27. I’d recommend renting this one first. The sex is good, but there’s a couple scenes that don’t hit as well as Wicked normally does. As usual, Wicked has put quite a bit of effort into the transfer, but the extras are average, which seems shy for the price tag.

Note to Wicked: Nice job on the transfer here. It’s great to see some of the older features looking almost as good as the current ones.
