Overall, Captain Hooker & Peter Porn is an average adult movie to come from the late eighties. Sadly, the story is a loss, with no real point at all to the movie. As the story goes, Patricia Reed (Krista Lane) gets kidnapped by Captain Hooker (Buddy Love) when he is raiding a ship. Patricia overthrows Hooker and Cutlass Jack (Steve Drake), apparently the only other pirate on the ship, with the help of Cobra (Viper) and escapes. Once escaped Patricia pretends to be a male going by the name Peter and gets Billy Blood (Billy Dee) and Kidd Morgan (Shone Taylor) to attack Hooker's ship.

To its credit, Captain Hooker & Peter Porn actually has a boat that was used, which both work in the movie's favor and against it. Shooting the movie on boats does give it a little more than your average adult movie being cranked out at the time. However, shooting on boats also made the space more cramped which means that you don't get much in the way of camera work. Captain Hooker & Peter Porn has some decent looking sets as well for the bar and hotel. The sets work much better for the sex scenes giving the camera operators more room to move around.

The sex scenes are pretty good. As previously mentioned, there isn't much for camera work on the boat scenes, which does hinder the sex scenes. The scenes that were shot on sets look much better. The story exists purely to move the movie from sex scene to sex scene. With the use of ships and the actual set work that was done it would have been nice if this movie had tried to rise above the other movies being churned out at the time. Much of the story is presented through narration. While the tale that is told isn't horrible, it could have used a little more development. All in all, see the movie for the sex, not the plot.

Captain Hooker & Peter Porn was obviously shot on video and this transfer does little to help the source elements. There are glitches in the video. Colors often look washed out. The screen jumps at one point. There is a lack of definition in the picture but that is probably due to the source material and not the mastering.

Captain Hooker & Peter Porn is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track, which is adequate for the material being presented. The film doesn't require much for the audio.

Captain Hooker & Peter Porn is an average adult movie to come out of the 80s. The plot is basically throwaway and exists only to be able to call the movie a feature. The sex is good and there was some good set work. Caballero's release is disappointing.
