Pink Lagoon is a sequel to Surrender in Paradise. Do not worry if you did not see the original. While the sequel is a good continuation it stands on its own and starts off by giving you enough info on the first to catch you up to speed. The story of the two films is fairly simple a group of models are shipwrecked on a deserted island or so they think. Soon they find out that Arthur (Jerry Butler) who escaped from prison after being wrongly convicted of murdering his wife is also on the island. At the end of Surrender in Paradise when a ship spotted them on the island the girls had to leave Arthur since if he returns he will be sent back to prison. Pink Lagoon starts off a few years later. The girls return with a film crew to scout the islands and give Arthur some good news. Tammy (Ginger Lynn) and two others who return to the island embrace with Arthur and then tell him that he is a free man. The murderer was found and Arthur was pardoned. Pink Lagoon is a sequel to Surrender in Paradise. Do not worry if you did not see the original. While the sequel is a good continuation it stands on its own and starts off by giving you enough info on the first to catch you up to speed. The story of the two films is fairly simple a group of models are shipwrecked on a deserted island or so they think. Soon they find out that Arthur (Jerry Butler) who escaped from prison after being wrongly convicted of murdering his wife is also on the island. At the end of Surrender in Paradise when a ship spotted them on the island the girls had to leave Arthur since if he returns he will be sent back to prison. Pink Lagoon starts off a few years later. The girls return with a film crew to scout the islands and give Arthur some good news. Tammy (Ginger Lynn) and two others who return to the island embrace with Arthur and then tell him that he is a free man. The murderer was found and Arthur was pardoned. The frigid, disinterested mistress of an archaic mansion, Candida Royalle, and her philandering husband, Aaron Stuart, are not only having marital issues but are also having trouble keeping a good maid around. Of course, this is primarily because Aaron keeps fucking all of them, and Candida subsequently fires them. In to save the day ultimately pops a lovely witch, Veronica Hart, who takes on the role of the perfect (...and perfectly horny...) maid to help them all overcome their impediments. Indeed, in some ways akin to a kinky, darker version of "Mary Poppins", Veronica's character is a dick-raising, erotic enchantress who sates everyone's desires--and solves their various problems--with but a glance (...and her magical, multi-purpose pussy). "Resurrection of Eve", the Mitchell Brothers follow up to "Behind the Green Door" is a different kind of adult film on many levels. First of all, the character development and ambition of this project is unprecedented for the genre. Secondly, it is an adult film in which the sex itself is actually shadowed by the storyline. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend the movie for somebody just looking to get a quick fix. The acting is reasonably good, although the plot isn't complicated: a bunch of hospital patients who are more horny than sick, and three candy stripers willing to serve any way they can, including sexually. Many have commented that the women in classic porn are not as good looking as today's crop. Although that is generally true, Amber Hunt, for example, could hold her own even in today's porn biz. Arrow has done an outstanding job restoring sound and picture, and one of the cutest things about this movie is the song that was composed and performed for it. For those who havent heard, there are two infamous scenes in the film (both involving fisting) that have long been cut out for fear of the dreaded porn police. With My Dad's Dirty Movies - Volumes 1 & 2, Adam & Eve has put together an interesting compilation, which will make a good rental for those wishing to watch it for nostalgia purposes or those curious to see what the modern adult film evolved from. This is probably nothing that most people would want to purchase, unless they find it very cheap as rewatchability is really low. Initial Reaction: Its everything it claims to be, and done very well. Who Should Watch It : Anybody who loves classic porn or whos curious about blue movies Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants a clear picture, plot, extreme sex, or most anything else that resembles the porn of today Audio /Video Quality: As one would expect, the technical aspects here are very poor. The audio is horrible, with absolutely no sex sounds, and the picture is grainy and fuzzy. I never thought Id say this about a DVD, but Im not really sure whether this is a good or bad thing here. As is, the features look just like they came out of a box that was left undisturbed in the attic for the last thirty years. This is some of what the aim of this feature is, so Im not sure that this is such a bad thing. [read the full review]
