Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting porn with high technical aspects

Audio /Video Quality: The audio leaves a bit to be desired, but that’s mostly because I’m not a fan of this style. Most of the time the only audio is the music, and most of the non-sex scenes are done with voice-overs. When there’s non-music audio, it tends to be good, but don’t try holding your breath between sounds of the stars. I’m not quite sure what to think about the video, but I know it’s not that impressive. There’s quite a bit that seems almost animated. I started out thinking this might be due to some of the lower light atmosphere of the scenes, but I started to change my mind when it started flashing back and forth quick enough to appear like it wasn’t deliberate. There are some other video effects applied to the feature as well, and they didn’t do anything for me either. It often reminded me of some of the early music video feel, but was never consistent enough to let you feel it was meant to have any certain style.

Music: The music has a definite early nineties softer rock feel to it and ranges between a nice balance and being the only audio. It’s kind of relaxing and a nice change from the usual porn music.

Menus: The menus are pretty basic. The main menu lists the choices with a fairly standard design, while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip and a scene number. Neither are too impressive.

The Feature: Racquel’s Addiction has something to do with a cassette tape that makes the listeners have sexual hallucinations. Everybody wants it, but Racquel wants to keep it to herself until she knows a bit more about it.

Racquel Darrian starts things out showing some definite hints as to when the feature was made in her pink cowboy boots, short jean shorts, and hair that looks like she tried using her curling iron in the bathtub. She meets Derrick Lane in a back alley, and slowly pulls down his pants and drops down to slowly suck and stroke his schlong. Derrick picks Racquel up and moves her to a nearby motorcycle to help her prop herself up as he starts fucking her through a few common positions. Derrick finishes things off by pulling out and popping on Racquel’s amazing ass. It’s an okay scene that would have probably been a lot better if much of it hadn’t been done in a fairly animated style and without some of the audio.

Racquel Darrian fantasizes about Savannah dancing for her and then coming down to watch Racquel dance for her as a band plays nearby. When Racquel lays back on a table and spreads her legs, Savannah can’t hold back any more and goes muff diving without even taking the time to grab a snorkel. Savannah patiently kisses and licks her way around Racquel’s peach and then lets Racquel return the favor before they end things with a kiss. It’s slow and I think I might have looked a little like Ray Charles as my head bobbed around as I fought against unconsciousness. The highlight of the scene might just be the camera starting to ignore the girls and concentrate on the band as the scene nears its end. I’m not sure if Derrick Lane was trying to use this feature to get into music videos, but I’m rapidly starting to think he would have been a lot better on a channel I never watch than making porn.

Madison and Patricia Kennedy emerge from a pool to give Jon Dough and Micky Ray a little tender lusting care. Patricia attempts to get Micky hard by sucking his cock, which doesn’t seem to work that well, while Madison’s mouth doesn’t seem to have any problems coaxing out Jon’s inch worm. Micky moves on to suck and finger Patricia, which I think might be because he couldn’t get hard enough to fuck her, while Jon goes directly to pounding Madison’s pussy in a few positions. Patricia hops on for a little loving from Jon also, since he can get it up, while Madison rides Jon’s face and sucks Micky off. Jon finally pops on Patricia’s ass while an unseen Micky drops a few dick droppings on Madison’s back, further making me think Micky couldn’t perform. As always, Madison makes the scene fun, but it’s still a disappointing.

Peter North and Savannah get busy with hookers Jacqueline and Madison, who returns as a completely different person. Madison wisely chooses Savannah, while Jacqueline decides to place her future eyesight in jeopardy by starting to suck Peter’s peter. Madison and Peter move on to do the fucking before Peter pulls Madison over to have a poke with her after he sees how good of a job he’s doing on Savannah. Savannah pops up to take Peter’s pop on her tits, and then lets Jacqueline finish her off with a dildo. It’s a pretty good scene, but felt a little off at times.

Finally, Jon Dough and Peter North try out the tape, and are greeted by Jacqueline and Patricia Kennedy. This time around Patricia finds a hard cock to suck with Peter, while Jacqueline enjoys Jon. Jon actually bucks the system by giving Jacqueline a little oral love to get her warmed up while Peter goes directly to boning Patricia. Each girl takes it in a couple positions before Jacqueline gets her back stuccoed and Patricia takes a ball blast all over her front. It’s another okay scene with nothing special to do anything like keep you awake.

Racquel’s Addiction shows you the definite down side to addiction. You do lots of stupid things that you wouldn’t do normally, like watch this movie. Much of the time it feels like Derrick Lane wasn’t sure if he was making a music video or a porno, and the entire movie suffered because of it. The story has a decent idea, but is done so horribly that it brought down the entire movie. The sex doesn’t make you forget about it, and almost put me to sleep. The group scene between Savannah, Madison, Jacqueline, and Peter North was the best scene here, and even that was average at best. Much like Micky Ray in his scene, Racquel’s Addiction just doesn’t perform.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts two minutes with about seven seconds per full screen photo. The quality varies quite a bit picture to picture, and ranges between poor and pretty good. The cast listing lets you jump to a scene with Racquel Darrian, Madison, or Patricia Kennedy, while the catalogue lets you know of a few of the other titles in the VCA Classics line. The main extra, which appears on many of VCA’s DVDs is the Hall of Fame section where Jim Holliday gives a run down for about six minutes about many of the Porn Hall of Fame members. Of course, there’s also contact information to round out this group of extras. It’s a pretty lackluster offering, but this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise with a title this age.

Overall: Currently, most VCA Classics titles can be found for between $17 and $25. Rent this one before you spend the big bucks on it. Some people might like its style, but it did absolutely nothing for me. The sex seemed bland, the transfer lacking, and the extras lame.

Note to VCA: It’s great to see you releasing some of your earlier features, and I guess I don’t blame you for not putting too much effort into this one.
