Video/Audio:
My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volumes 1 & 2 is presented in the 1.33:1 ratio, full screen. I won't even hazard a guess as to whether this was the original aspect ratio for any of the loops except Volume 2, Loop 6, which appears to have originally been presented in widescreen. I doubt anyone around today still knows how they were originally presented. The picture, as to be expected for the age of the loops, is full of artifacts. For the loops that are in color, the color is very washed out. Some of the loops are presented in black and white instead of color. The picture quality varies from acceptable to near unwatchable.

The audio for My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volumes 1 & 2 is a 2.0 Stereo track. All this audio track consists of is Jazz music with a projector sound behind it. The music sets a good tone for the loops. There are no spoken audio or sex dubs throughout the entire set of loops. In Volume 2, Loop 6, there are burned in English subtitles to say what the characters are saying. There are no other subtitle options available.

Chapters/Time Code:
My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volume 1 has six chapters available from the main menu and My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volume 2 has seven chapters available from the main menu. Since there is no time code for this film the chapters are your only main source of navigation. Since the film is a compilation of old adult loops and each chapter goes to the beginning of each loop, simple navigation through the disc is very easy.

Special Features:
My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volumes 1 & 2 is essentially a bare bones disc. First up of the two extras included are Trailers. The included trailers are for Sex Across America, Sex Across America 2: New Orleans, Sex Across America 3: San Francisco, Amateur Angels, and Forbidden Lust. The only other extra is an advert for the Adam & Eve Productions websites. There is definitely nothing included here to base your purchase/rental decision on.

Review:
My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volumes 1 & 2 is a collection of old blue screen loops from before the time of the adult feature length film, the first of which was released in 1972 via the Mitchell Brothers. Some of these loops could have been produced after 1972, but from the haircuts and print quality, none of them are even close to recent. One addition that would have been nice to have on this disc would have been the performer's names, if still even known.

From a technical angle, the loops are awful. To begin with, the prints have aged horribly and many have experienced a significant breakdown. The editing is atrocious. These were obviously produced for quantity not quality. Performers will jump places in the middle of a shot. There is no attempt at framing. Only one has an attempt at a plot, but that is so thin it's almost transparent. Then again, the average running time of each loop is 11¾ minutes, which doesn't include room for any plot other than setting. The camera work is horrible. It resembles that of the early Warhol Factory films.

This sex is nonexistent in some loops and poor in others. A few of the loops I actually found strangely erotic. The men are completely unattractive, I wouldn't be surprised to find out they were randomly grabbed off the street minutes before shooting. Many of the females are unattractive too. A few are attractive in the “girl-next-door” sort of way though. Most are very hairy as well which might put off some viewers.

In a rarity for me, I'm going to go through each loop briefly. As each loop is a stand alone piece, I feel it is warranted here. As none of the loops have noted titles, each one is referred to by volume and order in the film.

Volume 1, Loop 1: A 13 minute piece that shows nothing more than a girl stripping and writhing around with many monster shots of her genitalia.

Volume 1, Loop 2: A 13 minute piece featuring a male and female, after they strip the female plays with the outer rim of her pussy, he eats her pussy (implied not shown) and she sucks his dick (also implied, not shown). There is no actual penetration shown in this piece.

Volume 1, Loop 3: A 14 minute black and white piece featuring a girl stripping and writhing around. Very similar to Volume 1, Loop 1. The picture is very fuzzy in this loop.

Volume 1, Loop 4: A 12 minute piece featuring a naked shaved girl writhing around with a pillow.

Volume 1, Loop 5: A 12 minute piece featuring a female stripping and writhing. Very similar to Volume 1, Loop 1 and Volume 1, Loop 3.

Volume 1, Loop 6: An 11 minute piece showing a party with four males and four females featuring male to female fingering, dick sucking, pussy eating, female to female kissing and, yes can it be, actual fucking! This is the first loop presented in the film to show actual penetration.

Volume 2, Loop 1: A 10 minute piece showing two males and two females featuring pussy fingering, female to female pussy eating (implied, not shown), dick fondling, and dick licking. One female never shows the front of her body or her face. No actual penetration is shown.

Volume 2, Loop 2: A 9 minute piece showing one male and two females featuring fingering, pussy eating dick sucking and fucking (for those counting, this is the second time there has been fucking in this porn film).

Volume 2, Loop 3: A 9 minute interracial piece showing a band setting with two males and two females featuring dick sucking, pussy eating and fucking (damn, we are on fire now, two loops with fucking in a row). The picture was really jumpy, like the camera man was jacking it while filming the scene.

Volume 2, Loop 4: A 12 minute interracial black and white piece showing two males and four females featuring titty-fucking, oral play and fucking. The picture quality is so atrocious here it makes the loop very hard to watch.

Volume 2, Loop 5: A 13 minute black and white piece showing two males and one female. The first male forces the female's cloths off of her without her consent, then she accepts his cock. Afterwards she kicks him out and takes in another male. Featuring simulated rape, dick sucking, pussy eating and fucking. Often blurry, the horrible picture quality makes Volume 2, Loop 4 look good. This loop is almost impossible to watch.

Volume 2, Loop 6: A 9 minute piece with two females and one male. This loop was originally filmed in widescreen and is improperly framed here. English subtitles are burned into the bottom of the picture, some of which are chopped in half at the bottom of the screen. A lady walks her dog and brings home a male and female. Features female to female pussy munching, dick sucking, fingering, some nice lesbian action and fucking. Enjoy the fucking as this is the last time you will see it in the film.

Volume 2, Loop 7: A 12 minute piece with a naked female writhing around. Similar to Volume 1, Loops 1, 3 and 5. There are horrible aging artifacts present on this print.

The Money Shot:
With My Dad's Dirty Movies — Volumes 1 & 2, Adam & Eve has put together an interesting compilation, which will make a good rental for those wishing to watch it for nostalgia purposes or those curious to see what the modern adult film evolved from. This is probably nothing that most people would want to purchase, unless they find it very cheap as rewatchability is really low. Those who require good production values, a plot or nasty sex will want to avoid.
