Audio/visual quality: Overall, the audiovisual quality of the movies is acceptable given their age. Both are shot on film, with minimal scratches and other blemishes in the prints. The colors in Delicious appear somewhat faded with time, and the original editing feels choppy, with too many quick cuts between genital and facial close-ups. The focus and lighting are pretty good, however. The music ranges from slightly grating electronic tunes to slow jazz. The sex sounds come through clearly, though they appear to be dubbed in a couple of places.

All American Girls 2 suffers from a few shadows and indirect camera angles that occasionally obscure the action. There's also a bizarre slow motion loop when an actress deepthroats Ron Jeremy. The focus stays reasonably sharp, however, and the mix of wide, medium and close-up shots is pleasing. The music nicely fits the scenes (island drums, country western, celtic harp, romantic piano, etc.). The sound quality is somewhat hollow, but the balance and volume are good.

False advertising: The cast bios mentioned on the box are no where to be found. This is truly a shame, since I am unable to identify most of the performers in the absence of biographical information.

First impression: The movies are sweet and amusing, but the packaging leaves much to be desired.

Synopsis for Delicious: Candida Royalle ("Caroline") is frigid, and her sex-starved husband "Harold" is finding it difficult to cope. She catches him philandering with every maid they hire (including a dirty-talking Desiree Cousteau in the opening scene). Veronica Hart ("Divina") is Candida's last hope for well-behaved household help. Little does she know that Veronica is a good and naughty witch in disguise.

Candida and "Harold" have a grown son, "Henry," who's in love with Nicole Scent ("Harriet"). He drives her home after tennis, and she invites him in. She's happily wriggling and moaning on her bed when her brother arrives with his own girlfriend, Jane Kelton. Nicole's brother and Jane stand just inside the bedroom door, spying on the action. Inspiration strikes, and Jane unfastens his zipper and starts a blowjob. They then retreat to the stairwell to go all the way. Intercut footage shows the two couples having sex simultaneously, with the brother and his oblivious sister on opposite sides of the bedroom wall.

One morning, "Harold" decides he'd like to have the new maid for breakfast. Veronica casts a spell so she and her master can enjoy invisible sex while Candida sits at her dressing table unaware. That evening, son "Henry" goes to bed early with an upset stomach. Veronica brings him a special tea, which immediately cures his ails and stiffens his cock. When girlfriend Nicole shows up to check on "Henry," Veronica bewitches her into a three-way.

Candida begins to suspect Veronica's indiscretions and reluctantly decides to fire her. But Veronica seduces Candida with some magic cherries instead. The ladies shrink to the size of sprites, which allows them to play undetected in the garden. Meanwhile, Candida's brother "James" and two manservants are irked that Veronica has usurped the power of the house. At the end of the day, they attempt to frighten her in the boiler room. Instead, Veronica teaches them how to do a real gangbang, taking anal from Ron Jeremy and oral cumshots from the other two men. Satisfied that she has done her work, Veronica disappears into thin air. But she has left Candida a priceless gift—the key to her sexuality. Candida now knows that anal stimulation with a finger is what turns her on, and she surprises her husband in a satisfying final scene.

Synopsis for All American Girls 2: A group of seven college women seek R&R (raunch and relaxation) on a cruise of the South Pacific. The late Shauna Grant stars as "Laura," a sorority sister who breaks the rules of the game by falling in love.

Shauna was a rather shy actress, and her four scenes can best be described as "gently erotic." Most of the action takes place outdoors in attractive scenery (locations include Hawaii, Tahiti and Bora Bora). The first scene introduces boyfriend "Brad," who kisses Shauna and briefly makes love to her in a tree. We learn that in the not-too-distant past, Shauna visited her aunt's farm in Ireland, where she rolled in the hay with a handsome stranger. Distraught over the prospect of losing "Brad," Shauna receives a little intimate woman-to-woman comfort from a friend near the ocean. "Brad" eventually picks Shauna up in a helicopter and spirits her back to paradise, where they enjoy oral and vaginal sex in a lifeboat near a waterfall.

The other scenes include: a topless group tease for a young man who fell overboard; straight sex on a bus intercut with a casual boy/boy/girl encounter in Texas; a vaginal romp and titfuck in a bedroom on the island; a thank-you gift from a hitchhiker to her ride; a whirlwind romance consummated on a beach; a naughty lingerie photo shoot that gives way to anal intercourse; and masturbation that blends into a "fantasy" of boy/girl sex in a ship's cabin. (Whew! That's 10–13 scenes, depending on how you want to count them.)

The opening footage gives me a good giggle. The women shake their thangs on the deck of the yacht while wearing leotards and leg warmers. Yup, I owned a pair of leg warmers just like that in the early 80s. There's also a funny subplot in which a sorority sister flees the local sheriff after abandoning his son at the altar. Her rescuer uses his CB radio to get help from a friend, who promptly flattens the cop car with his Sherman tank. Yup, I remember the heyday of CB radios, too!

Thumbs up: Delicious—This movie is generally a lot of fun, with creative (and sometimes mildly kinky) touches. Be sure to pause your player and check out the game board when Nicole and "Henry" are playing Scrabble. It's my dream to play so many dirty words in a single game!

All American Girls 2—The lead actor (playing the character named "Brad") is mighty attractive. He's got a clean, lean look with tousled sandy blond hair. I haven't seen too many hotties like that in any era of porn. (I have no idea who he is, though.)

Thumbs down: The story of American Girls 2 is somewhat silly, and the acting in Delicious occasionally goes over-the-top. Of course, this could be good or bad, depending on what your tastes. Another complaint is that many of the sexual encounters are brief by today's standards, especially in the second feature, where female orgasms are virtually nonexistent (though Laurie Smith claims to climax during the anal sex). The first feature is a little better; a fair amount of female pleasure is evident in the final three scenes, and I think Veronica might even be orgasming in 69 with Candida.

The menus are an appalling mess. To get to the main menu, the viewer must first select and start one of the movies from the opening screen. Once the movie is playing, it's possible to go to that movie's chapter selection screen, which then offers the option of going to the main menu. The "main menu" button on the trailer and the web site screens actually goes to the opening screen. So after checking out those extras, the viewer must once again choose and start a movie and repeat the whole sequence of steps to return to the main menu.

Juice-o-meter: Medium for both movies. The sex scenes are brief, but the energy is often good.

Final analysis: Both of these movies have a goofy charm that makes them appealing despite their flaws. I wish the disc had included the advertised biographies and also a better menu design for easier navigation. Still, it's nice to see Adam & Eve preserving these older movies on DVD, and I hope the Retro Series continues.
