review from 7/1/2019:
Having pissed off a group of poker-playing hicks, a rough-and-tumble biker gang, and a couple of low-rent mobsters, two unemployed, wannabe cowboys (Rick Lutze and Paul Thomas) and a young, runaway bride (Amber Hunt) find themselves on the run and in hiding. Whether their constant string of good-for-nothin' shenanigans has finally caught up with them or whether they'll escape and live happily ever after remains to be seen, but--either way--the one thing that's for certain is that there will be a heapin' helpin' of hot and horny fucking along the way. Such is the case in "Lipps and McCain", an overall-good, 1978 release from director Bob Chinn and Alpha Blue Archives. [read the full review]

5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is an excellent limited edition Blu-ray collection of five classic adult films. The set contains Too Naughty to Say No, Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls, The Ribald Tales of Canterbury, Prisoner of Paradise, and Dixie Ray Hollywood Star. The films on the release span from 1978 to 1985 and, honestly, fans of golden age adult films should find several to their liking, even if not all of the films included are favorites. None of the films on this release have ever looked better on home video and 5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is definitely worth picking up before it is sold out. [read the full review]

Babyface is one of the best films that Alex de Renzy made with a good plot, some great sex scenes, and the weirdness that de Renzy tends to have in his older films. Vinegar Syndrome has done an amazing job with their Blu-ray/DVD combination pack release of Babyface with a stunning image, beautiful sound, and even some extras. review from 7/21/2018:
"X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of all Time" is a good, albeit fluffy, documentary hosted by Chanel Preston that offers up about an hour-and-a-half's worth of material that puts forth its creators' views of the best that the adult genre has to offer. Documenting films both past and present, the selections start with the "Deep Throat" era and go up essentially through the modern day (...to, say, about five years ago). [read the full review]

X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Films of All-Time is a fun look at a series of films and movies that are culturally important to the adult entertainment industry from 1972 until 2013. X-Rated skimps on the historical impact that each of the included films had. However, the documentary is a nostalgic look through some of the best films to ever grace the blue screen. After the documentary is over, if you are a fan of feature films, you will want to rewatch films you had forgotten about and seek out others that you have missed. X-Rated is definitely a fun watch for fans of the feature film genre. [read the full review]

review from 5/15/2019:
A smooth-talking, San Francisco card dealer, Herschel Savage, finds himself caught up in a diabolical, murderous plot of world domination, when he's hired by Jamie Gillis and his enigmatic mistress, Jacqueline Lorians, to seek out a magical book of prophecies originally sealed by God due to its extraordinary power. Little does Hersch know, however, but a group of aphrodisiac-wielding, Nazi relics from World War II--now hiding out in South America--are also after the tome, as they intend to employ it in reestablishing the glory that was their cherished Third Reich. Such is the case in "Blue Ice", an exceptional--albeit quirky and somewhat bizarre--1985 release from director Phil Marshak and Vinegar Syndrome. [read the full review]

Blue Ice is an incredibly fun adult film from the mid-80s. The film has a definite 80s vibe to it and while the story doesn't always make sense, the film never fails to entertain as the story unfolds. Finding herself strangely (and a bit drunkenly) unsettled by her father's (John Leslie's) marriage to a younger woman in Virginia City, Desiree Cousteau (as "Peaches") races off down a canyon in her jeep, only to veer off of the road and crash...leaving her with a bad case of amnesia and a lost identity. Of course, it's just her luck that two low-life characters find her, steal her transportation, and exploit her for their own ugly purposes...setting off a cascade of difficult events for the young Desi that only seem to go from bad to worse. Such is the case in "Pretty Peaches", an exceptional, 1978 release from director Alex DeRenzy which has been remastered exceptionally well by Vinegar Syndrome. [read the full review]

The fine folks at Vinegar Syndrome have cleaned up and re-released Alex DeRenzy's PRETTY PEACHES (1978) with the original 91 minute 35mm film intact and looking better than ever in all its wide screen glory. Bouncy and bubbly Desiree Cousteau plays Peaches, who takes a knock on the head then wanders about not knowing who she is, which is a recipe for horn dogs and other assorted sleaze bags to take advantage of her. No condoms but plenty of wacky dialog accompanying the sexual shenanigans in this xxx comedy concoction. [read the full review]

Vinegar Syndrome has put together a good pairing of films with their release of Bella and Robins Nest. Bella is the highlight of the set and is worth the purchase all by itself. Vinegar Syndrome has added a nice piece from Carter Stevens on Bella as well. The second film, Robins Nest, isn't as good as Bella is but one can think of it is a free extra since Bella is worth the price of admission alone. review from 3/21/2016:
The fine folks at Vinegar Syndrome have scanned and restored two classic flicks from their original 35 mm camera negatives. Both films feature real life lovers Arcadia Lake and Eric Edwards and one of the films, BELLA from 1980, might just be one of the best from that era, while the other flick, ROBIN'S NEST from 1979, is a solid little xxx comedy. So, PEEKARAMA: ROBIN'S NEST/BELLA (2016, Vinegar Syndrome) becomes an easy rave recommendation for those classic fuck flick aficionados, who will finally get to see BELLA in a beautiful wide screen restoration along with some solid BELLA extras including a video interview with cinematographer Carter Stevens and a terrific original trailer. review from 12/1/2016:
From master filmmaker Alex deRenzy, comes one of the most radical erotic films of the 1970's, LONG JEANNE SILVER. Part documentary, part vignette film, Long Jeanne Silver follows the erotic encounters of beautiful amputee, Jeanne Silver, as she invites her lovers to experience her unique sexual gift. DeRenzy's cinema verite styled camera captures Jeanne as she experiences the pleasures of men and women alike, between heart felt and candid glimpses of her real life and personality. Long Jeanne Silver is an odd film which will definitely not appeal to all viewers. It is essentially a showcase for amputee Jeanne Silver masking itself as a documentary. Given her rising station in life, she's in need of a trustworthy bodyguard to keep her safe, which she finds in the down-on-his-luck smooth-talker and former Navy boxer, John Leslie, who pretends to be gay to get the job. Of course, John's charade, coupled with both of their prurient proclivities, results in a powder keg that's simply bound to explode...in all manner of fucking. Dracula Sucks is an odd, high budget, and very fun adult film, which could have only come out of the 1970s adult film industry. While constantly trying to straddle the line of mainstream comedy and adult horror, and never 100 percent succeeding at any of these tasks, the end result is a unique experience that has a lot to offer viewers looking for more than just copulation. review from 6/12/2016:
The 70s brought us some great new takes on classic fairy tales turning them into erotic romps but Serena: An Erotic Fairy Tale was not one of these. Flash's
review from 7/29/2017:
C.B. Mamas is more of an all sex film, or maybe a vignette film if one is being generous, than a feature film that is completely mediocre in all aspects. There is nothing spectacular about the film nor is there anything horrific about the film. The video and the audio quality of the Mitchell Brothers Film Group streaming and the downloadable version is subpar and barely considered watchable. [read the full review]

It's all fun and games for a hulking, presumed-dead construction worker-turned-gigolo (Dan Roberts), when he finds himself employed at a high-end brothel that caters to women...all after fleeing from an irate mother (Marion Eaton) upon having been caught boinking her (too-) young daughter (Lyn Malone) at a jobsite. Of course, as it turns out, mommy-craziest chances upon his newfound place of employment, putting both Dan...and ultimately her daughter...at risk, as well. One of the greatest porn flicks ever, Alex de Renzy's BABY FACE (1977, TVX Home Video-2006) tells the story of a big lug named Dan (Dan Roberts) who is on the lam from not only the cops but also a pissed-off Mom named Molly (Mary Eaton) who catches Dan fucking her sex-crazed daughter Priscilla (lovely Lyn Malone) early in the flick. Director de Renzy and screenwriter John Mulligan bring this trio together for the nutty finale that takes place in a San Francisco brothel where Dan has been hiding out. Standard frame. 1 hour 45 minutes. [read the full review]

Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is a great example of everything that went wrong in the video tape era. Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is an early shot on video movie that has already tossed away everything from when adult films were shot on film. There is no real plot and much of what of present appears to be improvised. The movie is poorly shot and, despite Bobby Hollander coming from when adult films were shot on film, comes across as looking very amateur. Arrow has done a poor job with this release utilizing a horrible video master and including no extras. [read the full review]

review from 11/5/2008:
Thirteen scenes on a dvd that runs just under two hours from the "legendary library" of VCX. This is a good offering for someone wondering what the supposed earlier glory years of porn on films offered. These golden years are now a bit washed out on film and some times it might be better to just leave them in your memory banks. The sex in most of today's quickly shot movies is more scorching than anything offered from this "legendary" library. Most of the scenes are rather unimaginative or short on positions. The music and the hairstyles of the era are hilarious. Good nostalgia trip but not too bone hardening. [read the full review]

When a desperate girl on the street sells Kevin James a ring that she stole from her father, his (...sexual...) luck changes...and so does everyone else's who comes into possession of the bejeweled band. Such is the case in "Ring of Desire", a good, 1981 release from Peter Balakoff and Gourmet Video. Indeed, the ring finds itself passed around the various corners--and between the assorted characters--of Hollywood, from lawyers to actresses to writers to prostitutes and so on, and whoever owns it at the time finds him- or herself quite lucky (...as in "getting lucky"...). With a clever, though simple plot, good acting, a number of shorter sex scenes, and a strong cast, this little fuck-flick from yesteryear is actually a lot of fun and worthy of a watch...particularly for fans of the classics. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" Hey ya'll. I've been gone for a while, but I'm back with a new review. Luckily for me, this movie was actually a nice way to get back into feature porn watching. The Movie: Fade to Black 2 has an interesting story that just gets more and more twisted as it moves along. Because of that, I'll keep the story description short. Trent is bored with directing again. Hell, he's falling asleep during the sex scenes. Not only that, but he's got Dale DeBone coming after him for money. So, his assistant thinks it would be a good idea for him to get out of town for a while, and to take up a nice little gig helping a suburban community film an erotic film to help raise money to fix the sewer system. While this one is no where near as dark as the first movie, it's still good. The plot can get a bit hard to follow at times, with a few side stories popping up here and there, but still, it keeps you interesting, and it moves along at a great pace. Plus, Paul Thomas is a riot to watch on screen. [read the full review]

Featuring the "platinum princess of porn" herself, "The Erotic World of Seka" (1980 LBO / VCR), certainly delivers on both the beauty and the sexual fronts. Indeed, Seka is one of the true superstars of the Golden Age...one of the biggest names that the world of adult has ever seen. Not only did she possess stunning good looks, but she was also a sexual dynamo. Her scenes delivered on multiple levels, and her fans ate them up. Presented here are nine sequences featuring the legend, all of them strong and one of them involving a DP. While the overdubbing found in some spots is a bit irksome...and there's a disconnect between the first handful of segments and the last...Seka's presence and performances alone are easily enough to pull out a recommendation.
