Peekarama: Robin's Nest / Bella Review

The fine folks at Vinegar Syndrome have scanned and restored two classic flicks from their original 35 mm camera negatives. Both films feature real life lovers Arcadia Lake and Eric Edwards and one of the films, BELLA from 1980, might just be one of the best from that era, while the other flick, ROBIN'S NEST from 1979, is a solid little xxx comedy. So, PEEKARAMA: ROBIN'S NEST/BELLA (2016, Vinegar Syndrome) becomes an easy rave recommendation for those classic fuck flick aficionados, who will finally get to see BELLA in a beautiful wide screen restoration along with some solid BELLA extras including a video interview with cinematographer Carter Stevens and a terrific original trailer.

ROBIN'S NEST (1979)---80 minutes. Written and directed by Victor Bertini aka Vic Burton.

Robin and Alan (Arcadia Lake and Eric Edwards) land in the sack on their wedding night in a terrific opening encounter with the ever lovely Arcadia wearing her wedding veil for the duration. Look for a spread mish highlight.

6 months later, the couple are having problems so Robin decides to separate from Alan and lands in the open arms of a girlfriend (Robin Byrd), who is also friends with Lorraine (Samantha Fox), who just so happens to be married to horn dog Larry (Paul Thomas), who also is Alan's high school friend.

After some girl/girl action, the middle third of the film spends way too much time with Larry and his black mailing of a cheating wife (Marcia Minor) caught sucking off a guy in a parked car. She comes over to his house and gets the photographic evidence that Larry had photographed earlier but not before sucking and fucking Larry and then Lorraine. Here, Paul Thomas has a solid encounter with boots-on-in-bed Marcia (a titty fucking highlight) plus Samantha Fox helps the duo wrap up their bit with a three-way. Inter-cut is Eric Edwards sucking and fucking Crystal Day in the living room that also includes anal action.

The two fellas go out to eat and Alan has no clue that Robin will be part of the female contingent coming over to Larry and Lorraine's to fuck. The beautifully dressed females get the action going then the fellas join them for darker action in "the fuck room" that's just an excuse to hide Robin and Alan's identities until the predictably corny freeze-framed recognition bit that closes out this xxx comedy.

So, ROBIN'S NEST (1979) starts off strong with that solid wedding night, bedroom romp with Arcadia and Eric but the comedic turns taken to get them back together take way too long then the that "fuck room" encounter seems oh so rushed as it is crammed into the film's final 10 minutes. !!! 1/2 outta !!!!!

BELLA (1980)---86 minutes. Directed by Alexander Kubelka. Cinematography by Carter Stevens.

The star of BELLA, the young Tracy Adams, has a field day playing a young daughter out to pry away her mother's lover played by Eric Edwards. Her mother (buxom Diane Sloan) is not so willing to give up her neighborhood fuck buddy and both mother and daughter are soon sneaking around having encounters with the neighbor while Dad is away on business. Arcadia Lake has a much smaller role in BELLA playing Bella's best friend. She joins the two lovers for a wacky encounter with Bella forcing the duo to perform sex acts at gun point. Later, Bella and her Mom finally confront each other about what to do with their beau, which leads to a wacky albeit predictable xxx conclusion: it's better to share.

This pristine edition of BELLA is yet another reason to land this DVD. In my earlier review of the film, I complained about the crappy print used for that DVD edition. Here, Carter Steven's lovely wintry suburban cinematography really gets its chance to shine, probably for the first time since the film's opening 36 years ago. Carter even lands an interview extra for this DVD as he claims to be responsible for the discovery and casting of Tracy in the lead role. Add to this a wonderful trailer for the film filled with incredible still photography and this new edition of BELLA lands a !!!!! outta !!!!!

Way to go, Vinegar Syndrome! The final rating for this xxx double feature lands a !!!! 1/2 outta !!!!!

And now for some QUICKIES---Arcadia Lake and Eric Edwards Edition.

Following Vinegar Syndrome's lead, I have rounded up some other classic xxx appearances by the suck and fuck teaming of real life couple, Arcadia Lake and Eric Edwards.

There are Arcadia and Eric with tan lines for their bedroom romp with Brooke West in Robert Mc Callum's AMANDA BY NIGHT from 1981. Eric lines up the duo for a mishing that's observed by Jamie Gillis in a nearby doorway. The film itself is a terrific porn noir starring Veronica Hart and R. Bolla---!!!! 1/2

Arcadia dominates her sleeping roommate Merle Michaels with an assist from Eric in Cecil Howard and Henri Pachard's terrific BABYLON PINK from 1979. She even dons a strap-on to help Eric fuck her roomie and give her beau a blow job in the process. This "blockbuster" of fantasy vignettes boasts a terrific NYC cast but suffers from weak tunes---!!!! 1/2

NEON NIGHTS, a strange Cecil Howard flick from 1981, follows Lysa Thatcher on an odyssey that also includes Eric Edwards bedding down and ass fucking Veronica Hart then sucking and fucking Arcadia on a couch after the little artist paints his prick, his pink shirt and his face with red paint---!!!!

I have not seen all of SATIN SUITE from 1979 but I want to mention the double dose of Arcadia and Eric in the film. The duo's blowjob on a ferry boat leads to a brief hot tub encounter with mish moments followed by an upright anal finish.

Finally, the duo have another terrific encounter in SECRETS OF A WILLING WIFE from 1979. Arcadia fixes Eric a horrific meal that soon finds its way to the floor. Down to the floor, he forces himself upon her for a mishing, a terrific break for a blowjob and more mishing. Eric is the male lead in this flick so he gets the honor of sucking and fucking the "willing wife" Merle Michaels and the buxom Rikki O'Neil for the finale of this solid xxx comedy---!!! 1/2
