Pretty Peaches 2 (VCA) Review

You know, it’s not too often when I’ll come across an adult DVD that has something that just takes me by surprise. But, wouldn’t you know it, I found one here!

Alex de Renzy’s "Pretty Peaches 2" is a sequel of sorts to his original 1978 movie. Well it was a sequel in title and director only. Where the first movie was about a young woman with an accident-induced amnesia, this movie is about a 20-year old woman by the name of Peaches who was desperate to get laid.

So here’s the story: Peaches (Siobahan Hunter) tries to score with her boyfriend (Peter North). Her mom calls down from her bedroom for the boyfriend to go home. Somehow (and I’ve yet to understand why), he doesn’t go out the door. He instead goes to the mother’s bedroom. The mother is played by the very sultry and voluptuous Tracey Adams. And let’s face it, SHE is the real star of this movie, because she gets naked and gets laid far more times in this story than anyone else. So while the boyfriend is hiding, the mother gets naked to get ready for bed. She sees him hiding behind the curtains, and she pulls out a big kitchen knife (yeah, like all women have kitchen knives in their bedrooms) and forces him to undress. He starts grabbing his nuts like he got kicked, and she tells him that he’s suffering from that very fatal ailment… "lover’s nuts". Mom, of course, is willing to help him out… and she does, in multiple positions. What a Jerry Springer moment!

So the next day, Peaches talks to her father and gives him this whole spiel about being young and horny, and he tells her to go out and explore things on her own… but don’t be a tease. Apparently the conversation has an effect on her father’s secretary, because right after Peaches leaves, the two of them go at it on the desk. Hey, at least we know that the secretary isn’t a tease!

Peaches takes off to San Francisco (which is about the only real connection to the original movie) to go visit her uncle, and on her way there she gets picked up by a truck driver, who takes her to a motel. Now, would you think that Peaches would lose her virginity to some strange trucker? Nope. Because while she’s in the bathroom pondering the idea, a door-to-door hooker shows up. (Hey, how come I never come across one of those when I’m staying at motels?)

Now folks, let’s take a second to think about this… you’re in a hotel room with a young woman who is EAGER to lose her virginity for free, and you go ahead and PAY another woman for some action? What is wrong with this picture? Well, Peaches decides to sort of sit in and watch as the two of them go at it. I guess she just wasn’t ready to lose it quite yet, huh?

So the next day, Peaches’ mom finds out that she’s left and she goes to confront daddy. She talks him into going with her to San Francisco to go talk some sense into their daughter.

Meanwhile, Peaches makes it to San Fran and sees her Uncle Howard (Ron Jeremy). After she tells him all about her new mission in life, he and his wife and some other guy (who was he anyway?) decide to have a go at it right then and there in the dining room. This flips Peaches out again and she retreats. This time I don’t blame her, though. The three of them looked like they just came back from a dork convention. I mean, I know San Francisco has a reputation for flakiness, but this is over and above the norm!

So while the dork sandwich was going on, Peaches runs into another young woman named Crystal (Melissa Melendez). She decides to help Peaches by introducing her to "Granny". More on that in a minute…

Back on the road, Peaches’ parents somehow end up in the EXACT same motel as their daughter did. Now what are the odds of that happening? They decide to share a room, and soon they remember why they had the hots for each other. Oh, but wait a minute… while daddy’s in the bathroom getting ready, mom’s going at it with a door-to-door fitness instructor. (And here you thought it would be another door-to-door hooker!) She locks the door and then gets some action before the door busts open and our door-to-door fitness instructor does a fast sprint out of there. "Just like old times, huh?" Well no wonder they broke up! But then it turns him on even more. (Huh?) So he get some sloppy seconds.

Okay, back to Peaches and "Granny". "Granny" wants Peaches to be a maid, and even has an outfit for the young woman to try on. After a little bit of frisky play, we find that "Granny" is really a man (Jaime Gillis) in drag, and this leads to Peaches’ first sexual intercourse. And then afterwards she plays with herself, calling out her boyfriend’s name.

So let’s see… the sex score so far is… Peaches 1, Peaches’ mom 3.

Speaking of Peaches’ mom, the split-up parents have arrived in San Fran and have met up with Uncle Howard. After a little discussion about his military service, the three of them plus Crystal do a little foursome. Another true Springer moment here folks, as Peaches’ mom is now getting it on with Uncle Howard. That makes the sex score 1 to 4.

Well after Crystal gets nailed by daddy, she tells him about taking Peaches to some Chinatown sex club to be screwed by some guy in a mask. We don’t know who he is, because we never see his face, but there’s just enough to suggest that it might have been ol’ Uncle Howard himself. (Actually if you check the photo gallery, you’ll know that it WAS him.) Hey, given all of the twists and turns in this movie, why not? Anyway, there’s no romance in this romp… no kissing or hugging. Just pure sex. That makes it 2 to 4.

But then Crystal talks about what happened afterwards, saying that "the master" now owns Peaches. An eager pop makes someone their master? Well anyway, the subject turns to various kinds of "ownership", which leads to Crystal and Peaches getting it on. Now it’s 3 to 4. And then Peaches’ boyfriend suddenly shows up, and soon they’re getting it on. Now it’s 4 to 4.

I won’t say what happened immediately after that… but trust me, you’ll be smacking your head at the end of the movie and saying "WTF?"

Okay, so plot-wise, the movie has got more holes in it than a fishnet stocking. There were some boundaries that were pushed that no adult industry director or producer would even consider pushing today. Then again, this was an Alex de Renzy movie.

And speaking of Alex de Renzy… here’s the part that took me by surprise. In the "xxtras" section is a special section dedicated to the original "Pretty Peaches" movie. Director Jim Holliday has the honors of explaining what happened to the original de Renzy flick, and why he had the unfortunate task of hacking it to pieces for VCA.

That’s right… VCA destroyed all of their remaining copies of "Pretty Peaches". Holliday explains why in great detail, including a description of the original movie with about 20 minutes of surviving footage. Trust me, once you hear some of the stuff that was shown in this movie, you’d understand why VCA had to do what they did. (Mind you, that’s not to say that maybe in some post-Ashcroft future VCA couldn’t release the original movie on DVD, but it would have to be with video or film supplied by someone else.)

Other goodies thrown in here include a "Hall of Fame" section, presented by Holliday, and you won’t find too many modern starlets in this bunch. There’s a catalog of other VCA classics out on DVD, although it just lists the movies without giving any kind of trailer or preview. As I mentioned before, there is a photo gallery of both the first and the second movie, as well as a "press kit" for each of movie, which basically contained copies of the video box covers and publicity materials.

All in all, this is a very good movie to get, especially if you’re a fan of Tracey Adams (as I am). She really steals the show here, and it’s easy to see why they put her on the cover of the box instead of Siobhan Hunter. Siobhan really plays the naïve virgin role to the extreme, to a point where most people would just say "shut up and get laid already!" Trying to accept Melissa Melendez as an Asian girl is also a bit of a stretch, but it’s not like it hasn’t been tried before, and she doesn’t really play into her role as much as Siobhan did. And of course we can’t forget Jaime Gillis in drag and Ron Jeremy looking like a flake. This was definitely classic porn, and I’m glad VCA managed to keep this one around for us to enjoy.
