He rounded up Jack Remy as director of photography, Bill Heid for jazzy or bluesy music then John directed, wrote or co-wrote and edited a great many films for VCA from 1987 through 1994. Four films from this period appear on JOHN LESLIE 4 ON 1 (2009, VCA Classics-LFP Video Group) including THE CATWOMAN from 1988, THE CHAMELEON from 1989, STRANGE CURVES from 1990 and ANGELS from 1992. I never really was impressed with the stuff that Ron directed, compared to what he brought as a performer. As is with most to the features from this time period, the story is little more than a device to tie together sex scenes. At the time of production, overall production values for something like this were extremely lacking and kind of amateurish compared to todays technology. The Sinful Dwarf, despite being a hardcore film, isn't what you would expect from an adult film nor is it erotic. It is a twisted creepy film though for the right viewer. Not only has Severin included two different versions of the twisted film but they have collected a wealth of extras which includes the Danish adult film The Blue Balloon. The transfer for the international version of The Sinful Dwarf is rough and the transfer for the Danish version of The Sinful Dwarf isn't as good but is very watchable. Mostly it managed to strain my eyes. The DVD is a mastering of the 1971 release and appears to have been mastered from a VHS copy. The copy is ok, but the picture is very dark throughout. The movie runs 80 minutes and is presented in full screen, with Video X-Pixs logo appearing periodically in the lower right corner. Sex Rituals is directed by Robert Caramico, who has an interesting mainstream career as a cinematographer. The movie is narrated by Vincent Stevens, but other than him none of the cast is credited or listed. I couldnt recognize any of them. The 1970 release from the Amero Brothers, "Bacchanale", touts itself as "the ultimate hardcore film"...it's right there on the cover. Indeed, in the opinion of this reviewer, absolutely nothing could be further from the truth. First off, this production wasn't even intended to be a hardcore flick. It was a softcore film that had hardcore inserts performed by Tina Russell, Jason Russell, and Harry Reams added in due to the burgeoning explicit market at the time. Second, it's a serious waste of time in just about every other respect, as well. [read the full review]

"Double Your Pleasure" is a DVD re-release of the notorious late-70s title of the same name. What makes this film controversial is that it is one of the few offerings available in which true, identical twin sisters engage in a sex act with each other (they partake in an actual, incestuous act). The twins in this case are the Young twins, Brooke and Taylor, who also appeared in another film together, "Teenage Twins". The plot here revolves around the twins, their uncle (who believes that they may have stolen money from him before running away), a private investigator (who is tasked with following the twins), and a number of other characters that they encounter along the way. This is a 70s porno, so there are no condoms involved, but there is plenty of bush to go around. The scenes tend to be shorter, and the plot tends to be heavier than in most modern adult films.
