Second Coming of Eva, The (Cal Vista) Review

Mac Ahlberg's SECOND COMING OF EVA (1975, Sweden) has been re-released in a dubbed in English, standard-frame version from VCX as part of their Cal Vista Classics DVD series, which debuted in 2008.

SECOND COMING OF EVA is a wild, well-photographed, well-edited 92 minute piece of erotic and pornographic filmmaking that suffers a bit from a schizophrenic story that shifts from a sort of sexual awakening tale into a goofy sex comedy where not one, but two prudes turn into sex-crazed dynamos in the film's final third.

In the middle of a dream, a masturbating Eva (Teresa Svensson) awakens her guardian/sister, Elsa.(Kim Frank) She tries to awaken a naked Eva, who, by the way, looks amazing asleep in bed with a sheet partially covering her body. Still asleep, Eva clenches her entire body around Elsa's waist until Elsa tosses water on Eva, vows to send her away to a special school, one that will teach her morals. It's a fun before-the-credits opening with an erotic then frantic masturbation sequence---!!!

The opening credits roll over a shot of the manor or estate, the school where Eva is headed. Her gaurdian sister drops her there after a sort of open house for other parents with their duaghters, then the sham of a school gets the party started, with dancing, (hilarious) with couples forming and breaking away into other rooms of the estate.

Eva quickly becomes a voyeur of all the sexual situations occurring throughout the estate: the director hooks up with an engaged gal, who tosses her ring; another couple engage in some of the usual striaght sex stuff, which includes a skinny gal's nice half spin from reverse cowgirl to cowgirl; a girl/girl/guy trio engage in doggie fucking and pussy sucking. A sort of theme music emerges during the sex stuff, mostly strains of piano and harmonica, that are fine, well-mixed with natural sounds of the performers. All in all, this extended sequence is quite good---!!!!

"What am I afraid of...why can't I be like the others?" wonders Eva as she stands naked and alone in front of a mirror. One of her schoolmates (Brigitte Maier) consoles her then the two end up in the sack where Eva takes a twat licking and writhes around in a terrific wide angle shot---!!!

The next morning, Eva wanders onto a balcony to obeserve a threesome below her. Blonde guy Eric passes by her open doorway, spies her terric ass out on the balcony then sneaks up behind her for some doggie fucking. Meanhwile, the "snake in the grass" lawyer from America, Elliot (Jim Frank) is seen being chauffered up to the estate where he hopes to discover what's going on with the school director's inheritance money. Just before his arrival, Eva lets out a piercing orgasmic scream that alerts all of the other couples busy with their early morning fucking. Once again, the sex stuff, this time of the outdoor variety, is well-done---!!! 1/2

The second half of the SECOND COMING OF EVA begins as a comical game of cat and mouse between the school director and Elliot as the teachers and pupils try to hide their deviant ways. Awakened one night, Elliot wanders about the grounds and observes couples dancing, fucking outdoors. The whole sequence is shot via day-for-night photography so it's a bit strange and shadowy but fun---!!!

Eventually, the gals corner the prudish Elliot in an upstairs library where Elliot succombs to their seductive ways and humps each of the gals, including Eva , who unloads one of her piercing orgasmic shrieks. It's a well lit interior sex scene, which has wonderful over-head camera shots of the women ravaging Elliot---!!!

Another prude shows up at the estate; Eva's sister and gaurdian, Elsa, who catches Eva doing-the-do with Eric. So, the ex-prude Elliot poses as a member of the Board of Eduacation to convince her otherwise. Other couples watch through the key hole as Elliot seduces Elsa then this duo (Kim and Jim Frank, a live-sex show couple in real life) uncorks the best sex scene in SECOND COMING OF EVA that conclues with Elsa letting out an orgasmic shriek topping Eva's piercing cries of passion, thus ending SECOND COMING OF EVA on quite the high note---!!!! 1/2 outa !!!!!

This digitally remastered version of SECOND COMING OF EVA looks good but suffers a bit in this standard frame format that's dubbed in English. Brigitte Maier fans will enjoy her many sexual trysts but I first and foremost love the beautiful Teresa Svensson with her long, straight reddish brown hair, cute face, wonderful boobs, terrific legs and ass. So, Mac Ahlberg's SECOND COMING OF EVA (1975, Sweden) starts off with a wonderfully, erotically charged first half, then settles into xxx comedy for the second half, which is rescued in part by the wonderful chemistry between Kim and Jim Frank in the final sex scene. Final rating for SECOND COMING OF EVA---!!!! outa !!!!!

Extras include trailers and bonus scenes from other VCX-Cal Vista Classics, which tend to repeat themselves from DVD to DVD.
