STACEY'S HOT ROD (1983, Metro; VCX-Cal Vista Classic standard frame re-release, 2009) features Native American performer Raysheena Mercado as Stacey, a gal into riding and racing hot rods. She rides, sucks and fucks the hot rods of Tom Byron and Eric Edwards and races the rod that Eric Edwards fixes. She even dons some racing gear and rides around an oval track for the dreadfully dull race finale with Eric Edwards cheering her on.

Jack Genro produced and directed STACEY'S HOT ROD and the washed-out colors give this the look of an early video production. Genero has an unfortunate fondness for cuts to out-of-focus closeups that come into focus and pan the contours of his performers. So, the main reason to sit through 75 minutes of STACEY'S HOT ROD is to catch Raysheena in her three sex scenes.

Tom Byron drives over in his Chevy Nomad and wakes up Raysheena. The duo suck and fuck in Raysheena's bed with Raysheena wearing this muted red night gown that matches the rouge in her cheeks. Okay, so Raysheena is fine in STACEY's HOT ROD but the photography and direction bring this down a notch. Kudos to the music of Jerry Sullivan with its unintrusive light touch.
