Hot Times at Copenhagen High started in 1980 as the German hardcore feature film Schulmädchen Porno 2: Schulmädchen, die's wissen wollen by the pseudonymous director Volke Boese, with pseudonymous cast credits. In 1983, Big Apple Releasing, Inc released the film in America with English dubbing and the new name Brier Patch Dolls. The film also sports new credits with the pseudonymous Samantha Hall as the director and a different set of pseudonymous credits with different character names than Schulmädchen Porno 2: Schulmädchen, die's wissen wollen had. Later, Brier Patch Dolls was rereleased in America as Hot Times at Copenhagen High with the same cast cards as Brier Patch Dolls.

Despite the pseudonymous nature of the director and original uncredited writer, pseudonymously credited to Judy Asher in the Brier Patch Dolls and Hot Times at Copenhagen High versions, Hot Times at Copenhagen High is an enjoyable barely legal fluff film. The premise behind Hot Times at Copenhagen High is that Bambi (Janelle Leigh), Dede (Dorle Buchner), and Billie (Liselotte Mann) are high schoolers that are far more interested in sex than in school. Hot Times at Copenhagen High chronicles the antics of the three girls, along with their horny friends.

When one looks back on Hot Times at Copenhagen High, the viewer realizes that there isn't any plot or overarching story throughout the film. The film is entirely composed of vignette scenarios and sex scenes; however, when watching the film, the viewer feels as if they are watching a fully plotted feature film.

This reviewer is reviewing the American dubbed version and not the original German language Schulmädchen Porno 2: Schulmädchen, die's wissen wollen in this review. The dubbing could have seriously used some work. Some of the voice actors and voice actresses use some poorly done attempts at funny voices for the dubbing, which, sadly, detracts from the film. Some of the dubbed lines are pretty bad too; mind cringingly bad.

The sex scenes in the film are short but plentiful, and the film manages to put huge variety into the sex scenes as well. The cast does a great job with the sex scenes. There are plenty of tease scenes thrown into the film as well, an art that, sadly, is mostly forgotten these days.

The sets and locations used are excellent. Ultimately, due to the realistic nature of the sets and locations, the look of Hot Times at Copenhagen High ends up looking more like a softcore sex comedy than a hardcore X-rated feature film.

All-in-all, Hot Times at Copenhagen High is a helluva lot of fun to watch. The scenarios presented are amusing, and the cast does a great job with the sex scenes. Hot Times at Copenhagen High may not have a lot of substance, but it is enjoyable fluff.

Gourmet Video Collection has done an inferior job with their DVD release of Hot Times at Copenhagen High. Hot Times at Copenhagen High was shot on film, and Gourmet Video Collection has used a video source for this release. Hot Times at Copenhagen High is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480i. The image looks very soft and is heavily lacking in detail meaning the video source was likely a 250i VHS tape. The image contains artifacts and glitches in the video. The colors in the film look good, but the image can be dark at times.

Hot Times at Copenhagen High is presented with an English MPEG 2.0 monaural audio track. The only available audio track is the 1983 dubbed English audio. Unfortunately, the original German audio with English subtitles has not been made available. The audio track only plays on the left audio channel and has heavy distortion. The dialog can be hard to understand, and Hot Times at Copenhagen High isn't pleasant listening.

Hot Times at Copenhagen High is an enjoyable barely legal feature film from the beginning of the 1980s. There isn't much to consider a plot nor is there any reason for the film; however Hot Times at Copenhagen High manages to entertain the viewer from start to finish. Hot Times at Copenhagen High is well worth watching for fans of classic adult titles. Gourmet Video Collection has done an abysmal job with their DVD release of Hot Times at Copenhagen High with poor video and audio quality.
