Anthony Rosano does a great job channeling Dustin Hoffman, while India Summer takes on Anne Bancroft and Raven Alexis takes on Katharine Ross. With its ups and downsalong with some moments of uncertainty and its realistic settingsthe plot here is quite effective and well-played. Moreover, the sex is generally excellent and jessica, as is typically the case, is both stunning and in top form. Marina Heat is a mid 80s story driven feature starring most of the big names at the time. Amber Lynn, Gina Carrerra, Tracey Adams, Nikki Charm and Summer Rose round out the cast. Amber and Buck Adams play reporters that go undercover at the marina to complete an article on the Sex Lifes of the Free and Easy. As is with most to the features from this time period, the story is little more than a device to tie together sex scenes. At the time of production, overall production values for something like this were extremely lacking and kind of amateurish compared to todays technology. As was also the custom at the time, waxing, shaving, and overall pubic grooming were severely lacking. We also have the occasional shot of the guys reaction while getting head, but we were spared any of the guys faces while they were cumming. The audio is well done and there's some decent effort put into the extras even though the behind the scenes featurette doesn't have close to the personality one normally sees in a Wicked BTS. Elegant puts a good reminder of just what this movies about before the opening credits. It's a fantasy folks and everyone in the dvd knows it and plays along beautifully as I see it. Lela Star is the real star of this dvd, no pun intended! She is totally worthy of the cover and I'd suggest going right to her scene when you slip this dvd in. This 1980 New York production may be the only Gerard Damiano video I've ever seen. Typcially, "golden age" adult movies are pretty tame by today's standards. That isn't the case with this one. Right away there's an anal scene, followed shortly by a double penetration. There's also a scene where a man is penetrated by a dildo. In the original movie, there was a fisting scene and a golden shower scene, both of which have been cut from this dvd (and, unlike Arrow's DVD of "Candy Stripers" are unfortunately not hidden in an easter egg). The plot involves a futuristic society called "Alpha Blue," in which the prevailing custom is sex without commitment or attachment. Herschel Savage (early in his amazing three decades-long career) is happy with this state of affairs, but R. Bolla pines for the good old days of love and romance. Bolla decides that he will woo Satisfier 805 (Lysa Thatcher) into falling in love with him. Bottom line: this is an amazing classic feature, one of the best golden age movies not made by Henry Paris (aka Radley Metzger). [read the full review]

Robby D. cut his teeth doing a series of gonzo videos called "The Watcher" for Vivid Raw (Vivid's gonzo label) in the late 1990s. Although the series was obviously copying John Leslie's "Voyeur" series, and was also derivative of John Stagliano, Ben Dover, Seymore Butts, and Tom Byron, I remember being very favorably impressed with Robby D.'s product. He wasn't original, but he was very good at the gonzo stuff he was doing, and clearly had tremendous talent. My interest was piqued when I saw the names Daniella Rush and Nikki Anderson and I knew I had to give this DVD a spin. Before we start, it is important to note that these scenes, as it appears to me, were originally released on VHS format and transferred to DVD only recently. There is some graininess but the picture quality doesnt suffer too much from the format transfer though the aging of the scenes is quite evident. Scene 1 McKayla Matthews & Daniella Rush with Mark Davis from Backdoor to Buttsville 2: In a nutshell, this scene was HOT. The heat and chemistry between these 3 performers was blistering.
