Initial Expectations: I haven't seen any of Ethan Kane's work, so I'm going into this one with a pretty open mind.

Initial Reaction: Although I had a couple minor problems with it, I can't help but look forward to Game 2!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very well done. The audio is heavy on the music, but also lets you hear the performers throughout the movie without any background noises interfering. The video is wonderfully presented in anamorphic widescreen, and looks fantastic. The lighting varies a little throughout the movie, and it even brings in a bit of black and white footage. There's some frantic editing, but it never feels sloppy.

Music: The music has an intense electronic feel that works perfectly for the movie. The level varies a bit throughout the movie with the performers, and the two play off each other extremely well.

Menus: The main menu is pretty standard, and blends the boxcover with a bit of background animation. The chapter menu shows some nice care, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene as well as a list of the performers in it. There's also a positions menu to let you watch specific sex acts, such as tease, doggie, or cumshots.

The Feature

Herschel, aka Mr. Kane, has been around a while. He's learned things by going his own path rather than following others all the time, and many of the things he's learned are about sex. Here he sits back in a chair and enjoys a cigar while telling a few of the things he's learned.

Scene 1 – Kinzie Kenner and Penny Flame

Penny starts the action out strutting down a tunnel in a fuzzy pink and black and garter belt with black fishnets. She dances a bit and teases a big stuffed teddy bear before Kinzie appears in a similar bra and skirt. She does a little dance and strut as well before the girls share a kiss and fight over the bear. They break apart and Penny sits down to diddle herself a bit before Kinzie strips down and takes care of herself. They lick a black dildo and kiss before Kinzie fucks Penny from behind. Penny repays Kinzie's attention fucking her missionary style with a glass dildo before taking one missionary style herself. Finally Penny appears to cum and the girls lick the toy clean.

This is a very hot scene with great style. It has a driving pace to it, but there's still good chemistry. The pacing and camera work is very well handled, and the girls look great. This is a very nice start to the movie.

Scene 2 – Cassie Young and Ben English

Student Cassie starts the next scene out in a pink PVC pleated skirt and tie with a black PVC shirt giving a bit of a tease. She takes her seat and eyes teacher Ben when he arrives before being called forward for him to check her out and spank her ass with a yardstick. Ben disappears again so Cassie can give herself a hand a bit more on his desk before returning for her to suck his cock. This is a good scene. I love the outfit and the tease with the spanking, but the scene seemed to go on a bit long. The missionary fucking seemed to go on forever, and the teasing and masturbation also was a little much for me. There's good chemistry and a touch of intensity with Ben, but the main thing that helped this scene out was Herschel's great introduction. This is a good scene that felt like it could have been tightened up a little more.

Scene 3 – Roxy Jezel and Lee Stone

The third scene starts out with flashes of Roxy making her way through an industrial setting in some sexy black fetishwear as musclebound Lee watches her. She finally sits down on a stool and diddles herself before Lee moves in to kiss her hard on the mouth as well as kissing and pinching her nipples. This was a hot scene. I love Roxy's fetishwear, and the opening really gave the scene a cool feel. Lee does a great job as the musclebound fuckstud while Roxy does just as good as the petite little slut, and they seem to almost urge each other on as the scene plays on. It does play on a touch long again, but not nearly as bad as before. This is a hot and nicely done scene.

Scene 4 – Audrey Hollander, Alex Sanders, and Otto Bauer

Redheaded Audrey begins the penultimate scene in a little red and lingerie on a red bed in the middle of what looks like a basement or warehouse with rose petals falling around her. She's joined by Otto and Alex, who then leave her so she can fuck her ass with a glass toy. The guys come back so she can work her mouth between them before Otto fucks each of her holes missionary style. The guys also take turns fucking Audrey's holes doggie style before they double team her cowgirl style with Otto on the bottom. This is a pretty good scene. Audrey is a girl who is very hit or miss for me, and here she was a bit more of a miss. There's a desperate feeling to her here that I know works for a lot of people, but it doesn't do as much for me. She does a fantastic job taking on both guys with both her holes, but the blank looks didn't do anything for me. I can understand why a lot of people will like this scene, but it didn't do as much for me.

Scene 5 – Roxy DeVille and Jenner

Raven tressed Roxy starts the final scene in some sexy black and white fetishwear snapping her whip around while Jenner sits blindfolded on a chair. She gives him a little attention before sitting back on a stool and diddling herself, and then comes back to suck and stroke his cock. Roxy stands up and lets Jenner fuck her from behind before riding him reverse cowgirl style. She also lets him take her from behind as she lies on her side and rolls it into missionary fucking. Afterwards she lets Jenner hold her head back and gives her a good facial.

This is a pretty hot scene. I love Roxy's fetishwear and the domination aspect the scene starts with. They seem nicely into each other, and they mix up the positions pretty well. That said, I didn't care for how the control switched from Roxy to Jenner and once again it felt just a touch long. This is a pretty hot scene, and a good scene to end the movie with.

Although I can't say that it always worked extremely well for me, there's something about Game that I can't help but love. Much of it is the style. I love how Ethan Kane mixes up the angles as well as some clear footage, washed footage, and black and white footage. It gives Game a unique look that drew me in right from the start. I also love how the audio was blended, letting the music have its turn as well as the performers, which gave plenty of artistic feeling to the movie while also letting the performers shine. Perhaps the thing that did it most for me, surprisingly, was Herschel Savage's introductions. Having Herschel sit back in a chair with a cigar like an old gangster telling stories of his youth made me look forward to each and every scene in the movie. No, the scenes didn't always hold up to my hope, and often times they felt like they could use a bit of tightening up. The fast editing style Kane uses in the movie makes everything feel a lot bigger and longer, so the scenes often felt like they were at least half again as long as they were. That said, every time Herschel returned I was back looking forward to the next scene just as much as I was at the start of the last scene no matter how well the previous scenes worked for me. Game might have a few faults, but I don't think I'm ready to stop playing it yet.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Crush, Dark Angels 2: Bloodline, and Addicted. The photo gallery lasts a little over two minutes with about five seconds per very nice looking snapshot. There's also a bonus scene, a behind the scenes featurette, and website information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts fifteen minutes. After a few flashes around, things settle in on Roxy as she waits for her action. Jenner steps in to fluff her up before she lies back and they play a bit. She chats with the BTS guy a little as they fuck, as well as after the scene as she's getting undressed. Roxy is next, who has a few words as they shoot her scene before Cassie talks about being an early bird and a porn chick who watches the news. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette. It could have easily shown a bit of the other scenes, but the interviews are nicely done with the guy showing some good enthusiasm. This is a nicely done behind the scenes featurette.

Bonus Scene – Celeste Star and Holly Morgan

The bonus scene comes form Crush. After a little story and plenty of tease, Celeste puts on a tease on a staircase that nicely grows into masturbation. This is a great scene. It's very hot and sexy, and has a very nice pace. It's artistic, but at the same time the artistic nature of the scene doesn't interfere with the sexuality. In fact, it might even strengthen it. I really like how a bit of plot is included as well, as it leads nicely into the scene and helps the sex feel like it's about something a little more. This is a very well done girl on girl scene, and one of the best I've seen recently.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Sin's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with many stores offering them for around $20. Kane's style is a bit different, which might make this one a rental for those who haven't watched any of his movies yet. That said, I really liked this one even with the scenes tending to go on a bit long. The technical aspects are extremely well done and there's some very nice effort put into the extras. This is a very good release that's definitely worth checking out.

Note to Digital Sin: I hope you treat Ethan Kane right so he stays around making movies for you for quite a while!
