The Movie

The Kelly the Coed series continues to truck on as Jim Powers looks for every dime that putting Kelly the Coed on a product will bring in, even though he seems to have lost energy and ideas for the series. Kelly, assumed to be a sophomore at this point although never explicitly stated, is excited for the upcoming Greek Week and Greek Festival at State University. That's really it for the plot. She is excited and other Pi Pi sisters talk about what talents they might have, outside of fucking and sucking cock, since apparently one can't utilize those skills at the Greek Festival. As to why not I am not sure since those seem to be the only skills that matter at State University, which as this series continues, I am rather sure is not an accredited university.

All the Kelly the Coed movies are light on the plot, but the problem is this series has become incredibly lazy in the thought that goes into it. For instance, Greek Week nor the Greek Festival actually manage to take place. This sounds like an event that Powers could have had fun exploring. Bring some creative light into the series. But all we get are several characters who talk about the Greek Festival and that is all. Another example of the laziness in the series is that when Kat Langer goes to see Dean Wormhead — this really is what his name sounds like, the sound isn't great though so the name could be wrong — to be able to participate in Greek Week she meets him in his bedroom along with a random guy (Dave Hardman). The clichéd pizza guy who gets fucked when he delivers the pizza scenario is more believable than this.

Speaking of Dean Wormhead, he is played by Herschel Savage. This is not the issue, I feel that Herschel Savage is a talented actor and have no issue with him being in the movie other than he deserves better. The issue is that astute viewers will remember Savage as playing Professor Schwartz in Kelly the Coed — Part 3 and Mr. Goldberg in Kelly the Coed — Part 4. Sabrina Jade also shows up in this episode, she is unnamed here but will play Chrissy in the spin-off movie Chrissy the Campus Slut.

The Pi Pi sorority girls now have their own t-shirts (someone must have told them that none of their Greek letters made sense in Kelly the Coed — Part 8). Portions of the movie have been shot at a university, which does add to the feel of the movie. The sex scenes aren't bad, but as a feature, this is a loss.

The Edition

Heatwave has done a poor job with the release of Kelly the Coed — Part 10. The movie is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of approximately 1.33:1. The picture, despite showing the limitations of the original video masters, isn't bad. Kelly the Coed — Part 10 is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track, which can be hard to hear clearly at times. The only extras included on the release are a six-and-a-half minute behind the scenes feature and a photo gallery.

Final Thoughts

Kelly the Coed — Part 10: Greek Fest is more of the same. Very little creative thought has gone into the title. If this series thrills you, then you will enjoy this as much as those that came before it. If you want any substance with your adult movie, then pass on this one.
