Initial Expectations: Smash has been doing a great job in the last year or so, but somehow this one slipped past me. I’m looking forward to checking it out!

Initial Reaction: There’s a few hot sex scenes, but most of it left me disappointed.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting to see what Smash has to offer without seeing a lot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants a compilation where they know what movies to check out afterwards or who wants a compilation which includes full sex scenes

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As with almost all compilations, the technical aspects vary a little from scene to scene. Thankfully, there isn’t a lot of variation here. The audio is normally clear and nicely balanced, but there are a few faults. In some scenes you can hear the performers being given directions, background noises, and a bit of scratchiness. The video is normally okay. There’s a little grain to most of the picture, and the lighting varies from scene to scene. It’s never bad, but there are some noticeable differences.

Music: There’s music in some of the scenes. It varies in style and effectiveness, but is usually nicely balanced.

Menus: The main menu works in a nice shot of the cover with some animation for a good first impression. The chapter menu is very nicely done, and lets you choose between the start of the scene and the cumshot, as well as giving you the name of the girls in the scene and a couple clips to help you make your decision.

The Feature

Porking with Pride collects eleven scenes from Smash’s previous releases. The scenes are rarely the entire sex scene from the original release, and you’re never given the title of the original releases. The only way you know the girls in each scene are from the chapter menu.

Scene 1 - Kaylani Lei and Justin Slayer

Scene 2 - Jasmine Lynn, Alex Sanders, and Jay Ashley

Scene 5 - Venus, Wesley Pipes, and Domineko

Scene 7 - Katrina and Herschel Savage

Scene 8 - Celine and Justin Slayer

Scene 9 - Violet Blue and Mr. Marcus

Scene 11 - Simone and John West

Porking with Pride left me wanting more out of every scene. Sadly, it didn’t leave me wanting in the good way. It’s rare to have a sex scene that feels like the entire thing is there, which frequently interfered with my enjoyment of the scenes. Sometimes it’s not overly noticeable, such as in the tenth scene with Sandra, Samantha, and Clarke, but most times it’s extremely noticeable. Since the compilation started out this way between Justin Slayer and Kaylani Lei, I quickly found my self distracted because I want to see sex progress from stage to stage, not just catch a stage here and there. There looks to be a heck of a lot of hot scenes here, such as Violet Blue’s taking on Mr. Marcus and Elizabeth Del Mar getting it on with Hamilton Steele, but as most of them are I’m not sure I want to see the rest of the movies. Done in this fashion a good portion of these scenes leave a bad taste in my mouth, and if I knew where the movies came from watching this one (which I didn’t, it took a fair amount of research), I really don’t know if I’d be checking them out. This brings me to my other main problem. Porking with Pride should be acting like one huge commercial for Smash Pictures, and leave you wanting to watch a good portion of the movies showcased here. Unfortunately, the average viewer isn’t going to have any clue as to where to start! I love that Smash listed the girl’s name for each scene in the chapter menu, but there’s no reason that each sequence here couldn’t have had a two second screen added to let you know what movie each scene or sequence originally came from. If that seems like too much work, then credits at the end listing the performers and the original movie in a scene by scene breakdown would be great. Heck, picky bastard that I am, I’d love to see both! Although I enjoyed some of the scenes and sequences in Porking with Pride, I can’t help but feel that this is a DVD that’s best passed by.

The photo gallery lasts about five minutes with roughly ten seconds per very nice looking snapshot. The action is pretty limited for the length of the scene, but the voyeuristic feel the scene gave me easily raised it up a couple notches. This isn’t an extremely hot scene, but it is easy on the eyes and has a nice artistic feel.

Currently, many Smash DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $24 with most stores offering them in the $20 range. If you have to see this one, rent it. There’s a few decent sex sequences, but most of it feels chopped up. The technical aspects are a bit above average, and there’s a bit of effort put into the extras.

Note to Smash Pictures: It’s great that you’ve got enough material out there to put out a compilation, but in the future, please include the whole scenes. This would have been a heck of a lot better release if there were two less scenes in it and all the other scenes were shown in their entirety.
