Initial Expectations: The original Reincarnation of Betty Paige didn't do a lot for me. I'm not expecting this one to be much different.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects leave quite a bit to be desired. The sex audio is okay, but the dialogue is muddy enough that much of it can barely even be understood. The video is much the same way, starting with the Mal-Wart clearance aisle non-anamorphic transfer. The lighting varies from average to dark and the camera angles often leave a bit to be desired. There isn't much grain to the video, but that's about the best thing I can say about it.

Music: There's music in each scene, and it ranges from being nicely balanced with the rest of the audio to overpowering it. The style is a bit different, but I can't say that it really helps or hurts the scenes.

Menus: The main menu is extremely generic, and just gives a little background animation with the boxcover still for a fairly poor first impression. The chapter menu is also as generic and shows just as little care by letting you just pick a scene based on a scene number and a still that's too small to really tell anything.

The Feature

Darla Crane is back to continue her impression of Betty Paige. She also knows people who know her as Betty, and well, that's as close as I can come to a plot for this one.

Scene 1 – Isabel Ice, Dominic, and Trevor Thompson

Scene 3 – Darla Crane, Guy DiSilva, and Jay Huntington

Darla looks great, but the camera work once again focused way too much on gyno-cam shots. The editing also fell short by cutting from Darla asking for the pop in her mouth to the guys fucking her more, and the chemistry fell short by having the guys take turns fucking her rather than letting Darla take them both at the same time. This one just didn't do much for me.

Scene 4 – Darla Crane and Herschel Savage

Darla shows up in a tight white tank top, black dress boots, and a black skirt to try talking Herschel into getting her outfit ready that night instead of next week. The Reincarnation of Betty Paige 2 is a nice idea that just never comes together. As a Betty Paige lookalike, Darla Crane is great. Sadly, the only other thing about the movie that's really well done is Isabel Ice, who as always turns out a very hot performance. As for the rest of the movie, to call it a disappointment is almost a compliment. The camera work is just as bad, and bad enough that I was repeatedly reaching for the remote control with how in love the cameraman was with gyno-cam shots and angles that were just a little off. Although the movie's presented in the widescreen format, it constantly feels like nobody's around who's used to working with the format or aspect ratio. Finally, the chemistry in the movie leaves a bit to be desired, with none of the scenes ever feeling really passionate. Isabel Ice turns out a scene that feels fun, but she puts out more emotion than the rest of the cast combined. In the end, The Reincarnation of Betty Paige 2 ends up being a decent idea that was crushed into the form of a generic porno.

Currently, many of Metro's Cal Vista line of DVDs can be found online for between about $11 and $25 with a few stores offering them near the low end. Rent this one first or aim low. There's a good idea here, but there doesn't seem to be any body competent enough behind the camera to pull it off well. The technical aspects hover around the average mark, and there's no real effort put into the extras. This could have been a great movie, but instead comes off as a disappointment all around.

Note to Metro: This was a nice idea. I really wish you would have put somebody decent in charge of it.
