A good take on the classic Al Pacino title from the early 80's with Carmen Luvana taking over the main role and she too uses the name Toni but she gets a female sidekick in Ava Rose and those two rise from washing cars to immersing themselves in the seedy drug culture much the same as Al did in the Hollywood version. The storyline here is much the same, there is the chainsaw scene, Carmen goes to Columbia to get in with the people there and we get Tommy Gunn iced out of the picture in much the same way as Robert Loggia was in the other version. You get three good Carmen scenes here, two right off the bat and the final scene with Jerry. Well worth a rental for Carmen fans as well as Ava fans. [read the full review]

In this latest confection offered up by Brad Armstrong and Wicked, I thought I picked out a nice chocolate butter with walnuts....instead I got a raspberry cream, with dark chocolate no less. After reading some promo blurbs and seeing the box cover loaded with all them promising excerpts, I thought I rented a sure fire favorite...I was sorely disappointed. If I ran a porn studio, I would instill RULE #1, on a list of 1, that the girls gotta be at least as hot and/or cute and/or attractive as might be in any other 'real' movie one might wanna rent on a saturday night. After all, hot chicks doing just about anything, is better to look at then Rosie, Whoopi and Oprah cum-swapping...at least I hope it is. Which leads to "Problem 1" I have with the movie. This 1980 New York production may be the only Gerard Damiano video I've ever seen. Typcially, "golden age" adult movies are pretty tame by today's standards. That isn't the case with this one. Right away there's an anal scene, followed shortly by a double penetration. There's also a scene where a man is penetrated by a dildo. In the original movie, there was a fisting scene and a golden shower scene, both of which have been cut from this dvd (and, unlike Arrow's DVD of "Candy Stripers" are unfortunately not hidden in an easter egg). The plot involves a futuristic society called "Alpha Blue," in which the prevailing custom is sex without commitment or attachment. Herschel Savage (early in his amazing three decades-long career) is happy with this state of affairs, but R. Bolla pines for the good old days of love and romance. Bolla decides that he will woo Satisfier 805 (Lysa Thatcher) into falling in love with him. Although the series was obviously copying John Leslie's "Voyeur" series, and was also derivative of John Stagliano, Ben Dover, Seymore Butts, and Tom Byron, I remember being very favorably impressed with Robby D.'s product. He wasn't original, but he was very good at the gonzo stuff he was doing, and clearly had tremendous talent. There is some graininess but the picture quality doesnt suffer too much from the format transfer though the aging of the scenes is quite evident. Scene 1 McKayla Matthews & Daniella Rush with Mark Davis from Backdoor to Buttsville 2: In a nutshell, this scene was HOT. The heat and chemistry between these 3 performers was blistering.
