Memphis Cathouse Blues Review

Review:
It's going to take plenty of courage, hope, and sex (...and more than a bit of luck...) to keep open the "Feline Farm", a longstanding, Deep South brothel operated by Annette Haven, when a local preacher sics his Bible-thumping flock on the establishment. Such is the case in "Memphis Cathouse Blues", an overall-good, 1982 release from director Louis Lewis and Caballero. Featuring the lovely, brunette legend herself, Ms. Annette Haven, along with the likes of Rhonda Jo Petty, Kay Parker, Dorothy LeMay, Lisa DeLeeuw, and Danielle, it goes without saying that the female flesh in this little fuck-flick is of the finest quality. Indeed, some of the biggest names of its era pop up in this one. Moreover, the plot is fairly decent and fun, albeit a tad predictable and frequently sidetracked by its various flashback/cut sequences. The sets are realistic, and the acting is solid, as well, with the occasional funny moment or clever dialog thrown in for good measure. Some of the sex itself could be better captured, however, as here and there it's too darkly-lit or not filmed at the best possible angle or at the best possible distance. Regardless, there's still a lot to recommend this film--its cast, its bordello-oriented plot, its fun and clever moments, and so on--and fans of any of the ladies, houses of ill repute, and/or the Golden Age of adult films will likely get something worthwhile out of it. I did.

In terms of the sex, Scene One offers up a flashback to the current madam's grandmother, the buxom blonde beauty, Rhonda Jo Petty, servicing a Confederate soldier, Michael Morrison, back in the early days of the house (oral, titty-fuck ; pop on her face and chest). In Scene Two, the madam, the gorgeous Annette Haven, jerks and sucks the local sheriff, Mike Horner, until he unloads all over himself at her hand. Scene Three has three working girls, Dorothy LeMay, K.C. Valentine, and Kay Parker, beckoning in a pair of protesters from outside of the bordello, Herschel Savage and Jon Martin, for some true enlightenment...of the sexual kind. The ladies get things revved up with one another, going all fingers and tongues, but it doesn't take long for the guys to make their way into the proceedings. Dorothy and K.C. take on the oral and vaginal duties, as the participants take time playing with Kay. (Herschel and Jon keep up the religious motif / speak throughout.) In Scene Four, Annette instructs a naive newcomer, the blonde babe, Danielle, in the art of fellatio with Horner, after the latter comes to learn just exactly what the house is all about. An excruciatingly hot double-BJ ensues, with Haven eventually going down on Danielle, who sucks and jerks Mike to completion all over himself. Scene Five features another flashback fucking, this time between Kay Parker and her football player boyfriend from the past, Billy Dee. The fireside, oral and vaginal action that follows is both sensual and darkly lit...perhaps too much so (cum-shot on her tummy and chest). In Scene Six, the belle of the bawdy girls, the fire-crotched Lisa DeLeeuw, shows her supreme skills in another darkly-lit, oral and vaginal romp with a client, Eric Stein. She certainly knows her way around a dick (pop-shot on her backside out of cowgirl). Scene Seven couples up the captain of the local, winning football team, Joey Silvera, and Danielle up in her quarters after his big win. She takes him orally and vaginally in a football-themed fucking, donning his pads and playing the role of the center at one point, before he ultimately blows a load in her hands out of cowgirl. In Scene Eight, Herschel and Jon Martin fuck it out with K.C. Valentine, Kay Parker, and Dorothy LeMay again (oral, vaginal), while Danielle and Joey get down to business one more time (Scene Nine, oral). Simultaneously, Annette and Horner give it yet another go in Scene Ten (softcore vaginal). These last three sequences are all intercut and of a celebratory nature. All's well that ends well in her end, I suppose... Hot stuff!
