Spitfire review summaries:

From its catchy opening score, cleverly-cut credits, and nostalgic shots of old-school New York City, it''s clear that the audience is in for a fun and sexy treat with "Spitfire", an exceptional 1984 release from director Cecil Howard and Command Video. Reproduced beautifully at Hotmovies.com, this production is in many ways pornographic poetry in motion from start to finish. Exquisitely captured and edited, this film is centered around a corrupt professor-turned-politician (R. Bolla) whose "chastity belt" agenda has caught on nationally and is bringing in millions. Of course, he''s actually a perv and a fraud, his daughter (Tigr) is an insatiable nymphomaniac, and his wife (Samantha Fox) is a gold digger in every sense of the word. Needless to say, the storyline is intricate, well-crafted and comical, the acting is superb throughout, and the end result is a true Golden Age classic that should not be missed. Chained is a BDSM feature movie from the beginnings of Bizarre Video. Unfortunately, the story, the BDSM aspects, and the sex itself aren't very good in Chained. The production itself looks cheap and, unfortunately, has little to offer the viewer. Bizarre Video has done an adequate job with their streaming and download edition of Chained with video quality that is acceptable for the age but poor audio quality. [read the full review]

5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is an excellent limited edition Blu-ray collection of five classic adult films. The set contains Too Naughty to Say No, Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls, The Ribald Tales of Canterbury, Prisoner of Paradise, and Dixie Ray Hollywood Star. The films on the release span from 1978 to 1985 and, honestly, fans of golden age adult films should find several to their liking, even if not all of the films included are favorites. None of the films on this release have ever looked better on home video and 5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is definitely worth picking up before it is sold out. [read the full review]

Too Naughty To Say No (Vinegar Syndrome) review summaries:
Rick L. Blalock's
In the 1984 film, TOO NAUGHTY TO SAY NO, "Betty"(Angel) is a good little Catholic Schoolgirl, who attends the local convent. Betty is studying her scriptures hard, as it is the day before the school's final exam. However, no matter how much she studies, she is hung up on a single, word, which appears several times throughout the writings. That would is "begat". She's not quite sure what it means. However, little did she know that soon enough, she would get at a heavy dose of "begatting"(of orgasms!). That's because soon, Betty doses off to sleep, as she subsequently finds her in a world unlike the one that she is accustomed. To her, it all looks the same, that is until things take a turn for the perverse. [read the full review]

Champagne for Breakfast review summaries:
fu_q's
Emboldened by a female colleague's wanton activities, a newly-minted, cosmetic industry Vice President, the stunning legend, Lesllie Bovee, embarks upon a quest of sexual exploration and gratification around her home base of San Francisco. Given her rising station in life, she's in need of a trustworthy bodyguard to keep her safe, which she finds in the down-on-his-luck smooth-talker and former Navy boxer, John Leslie, who pretends to be gay to get the job. Of course, John's charade, coupled with both of their prurient proclivities, results in a powder keg that's simply bound to explode...in all manner of fucking. Such is the case in "Champagne for Breakfast", a very good, 1980 release from Chris Warfield and re-mastered by Vinegar Syndrome. [read the full review]

Zachary Strong attempted to do something new and original with Visions of Clair. However, the end result is sadly an incoherent mess. The story goes all over the place and doesn't ever make sense of itself and the majority of the sex scenes are shot and edited in a way that makes them completely inaccessible. Visions of Clair is an easy film to skip. Cal Vista has done an acceptable job with their release with a watchable picture and listenable audio but not much more. [read the full review]

VISIONS OF CLAIR (1977) is a Cal Vista Classic re-release on DVD of the 1977 VHS video. The box art description (in part) states - "A film in the style of Emmanuelle, but with a raw passion of The Story of O. Clair has a powerful, almost supernatural attraction to those about her. Living alone in her stately mansion, she attracts the most fascinating men and women to her estate, where seemingly bound her aberrant desires, they eagerly give themselves sexually to her and to each other." I like Annette Haven, she has done some excellent films and this description captured my interest. The only part of this description I recognized after viewing the film was "almost supernatural." Featuring the "platinum princess of porn" herself, "The Erotic World of Seka" (1980 LBO / VCR), certainly delivers on both the beauty and the sexual fronts. Indeed, Seka is one of the true superstars of the Golden Age...one of the biggest names that the world of adult has ever seen. Not only did she possess stunning good looks, but she was also a sexual dynamo. Her scenes delivered on multiple levels, and her fans ate them up. Presented here are nine sequences featuring the legend, all of them strong and one of them involving a DP. While the overdubbing found in some spots is a bit irksome...and there's a disconnect between the first handful of segments and the last...Seka's presence and performances alone are easily enough to pull out a recommendation. Memphis Cathouse Blues review summaries:

It's going to take plenty of courage, hope, and sex (...and more than a bit of luck...) to keep open the "Feline Farm", a longstanding, Deep South brothel operated by Annette Haven, when a local preacher sics his Bible-thumping flock on the establishment. Such is the case in "Memphis Cathouse Blues", an overall-good, 1982 release from director Louis Lewis and Caballero. [read the full review]

Rick L. Blalock's
The Good Girls of Godiva High opens up in the girls gymnasium when we are introduced to the loveliest set of young ladies any modern high school could produce. While scanning through an adult magazine and educating their minds, our young heroines discuss the possibility of changing their traditional Godiva High School dance to a more modern Disco Party. How to convince Miss Lena, the headmistress, played by Susan De Angelis is the girls' dilemma. That answer is provided by one of the boys who just happens to be her gardener. You will long remember the performances by Danielle and Daphne as they wear down super-stud Ian played by Bob Presley, owner of the fabulous Club 52, hottest disco in the city. [read the full review]

If we were called upon to write essays on irony, tragedy, flawed characters, or any of the other big dramatic topics for discussion, I always turned to that father killing, eye poking, incestuous king for source material. Of course, I didn't know shit about Medea or Troilus and Cressida, but I didn't have to; I had my regal Greek motherfuckers down. Kirdy Stevens' Taboo barely resembles the themes of Oedipus Rex, and we all agree that it's unfair to hold any pornographic work to the same standard of Sophocles' greatest play, and yet I'm gonna do it anyway. Most of what I wrote about "The Ecstasy Girls" also applies to this film. This is a 1982 Harold Lime production, directed by Robert McCallum. With Veronica Hart and Annette Haven, there's more star power in this flick, but the final product is not quite as good as the wonderful "Ecstasy Girls." The plot is "Ecstasy Girls" in reverse. Here, Georgina Spelvin is the publisher of a soft-core porn mag called "Panther," featuring centerfolds of smart college girls. Some morality guardians form a committee called Morality over Madness (MOM), and try to put Panther out of business. Spelvin has to round up her centerfold graduates to go out and seduce the committee members, retain evidence of the hanky-panky, and ultimately blackmail the members into ceasing their assault on Panther magazine. The video is average and the audio echoes in spots, but is much better than other adult films of this age, such as the Original Debbie Does Dallas. The Review: Centerspread Girls kind of reminds me of my youth. It revolves around MOM trying to stop porn (or at least not let me have it). In this case, MOM is Morality Over Madness, a moral majority group which has been trying to shut down Panther magazine for years. [read the full review]

The Review: Centerspread Girls kind of reminds me of my youth. It revolves around MOM trying to stop porn (or at least not let me have it). In this case, MOM is Morality Over Madness, a moral majority group which has been trying to shut down Panther magazine for years. [read the full review]

A simple call from a shady and manipulative ex-lover, Jamie Gillis, for a pair of hookers to service a high-end client goes horribly wrong for a madam with a heart of gold, Veronica Hart, when one of the two ladies meets her untimely demise in a swimming pool whilst on the job. Quickly, and despite trying to get out of the skin trade, Veronica finds herself buried deeper and deeper in a high stakes game of drugs, sex, and murder that can end in only one of two ways for the unsuspecting young woman...and only one of them is good. Such is the case in "Amanda By Night", a phenomenal, 1981 release from Caballero and director Robert McCallum. [read the full review]

One of the best American hardcore films ever made (by director Gary Graver) has been given a TERRIBLE DVD release by Caballero. A true genre masterpiece which features masterful performances from Veronica Hart, Richard Bolla, and especially Lisa DeLeeuw and Samantha Fox. A superior film in every respect which deserves a lot more than it has gotten on DVD. For that reason, pay more and get an old VHS. [read the full review]

Here is a Harold Lime/Robert McCallum classic from 1982 that is still famous over 20 years later. It won six adult film critic awards, including best picture. Because it was filmed near the end of the "golden age," there aren't quite as many exterior shots as there would have been in movies a few years older. The plot involves a madam named Amanda (Veronica Hart) who, as a favor to her former pimp and lover (Jamie Gillis), sets up an S & M session for a local politician. The girls that she sends for this session (Lisa de Leeuw and Samantha Fox) are later found dead. R. Bolla plays the straight-arrow homicide detective trying to solve the case, without much help from Amanda. To make matters worse, there's a corrupt vice squad cop (Ron Jeremy) who is constantly getting in the way. By today's standards, this is couples' fare, with relatively short sex scenes, and loads of plot. It's so good-hearted, it could almost be on the Family Channel. Veronica Hart gets to over-act and ham it up ridiculously. It's a good movie, but a poor DVD. [read the full review]
