Taboo (Standard Digital) Review

Review:
When her husband leaves her for his much younger secretary, the confused and frustrated Kay Parker can find solace in but one place... her son, Mike Ranger. Such is the case in "Taboo", a very good, 1980 release from Kirdy Stevens and Standard Video that spawned an entire generation of incest-themed films throughout the decade that followed. What really sets this release (and series) apart from other pretender titles like it is its ability to build to its ultimate, incestuous conclusion via a strong and believable storyline that deals, at least in part, with the emotions and reasoning behind such extreme and verboten sexual activity. While other flicks of this type simply bounce right into the all-in-the-family fucking and fun, this one (...and its sequels by Stevens that I've encountered...) profers an actual, and somewhat plausible, motivation for it all. This certainly doesn't mean to excuse the unexcusable, but--quite the contrary--serves to add an element of realism to it all, thereby actually bolstering its sleaze factor. Indeed, incest on film is best (i.e. at its filthiest) when it can actually be believed. Kirdy Stevens, of course, is a master of this...and the popularity of his titles shows it.

In terms of the sex, Scene One has Turk Lyon and his wife, Kay Parker, squabbling about the lights being on or off during sex and, briefly, getting it on (oral, vaginal ; pop on the bush). In Scene Two, Kay's son, Mike Ranger, gets his reward from his girlfriend, Dorothy LeMay, and her friend, Tawny Pearl, for knowing all of the right answers while studying for a history test (oral, vaginal with Tawny ; pop on Tawny's ass, cummy reinsertion). Scene Three finds Juliet Anderson, Kay's super-pervy friend, getting it on with her live-in lovers, Miko Yani and Don Fernando (girl-girl, oral, vaginal ; cum-shot on Juliet's tummy). Scene Five involves a huge orgy at a swing party that Kay's unwittingly been taken to. Among the participants are Valerie Paulson, Lisa K. Loring, Starr Wood, Holly McCall, Brooke West, Sarah Harris, T.J. Carson, and so on (plenty of oral, vaginal, money-shots, and girl-girl). In Scene Six, Kay Parker--post-party and in bed--fantasizes about getting fucked (briefly) by a guy at the party. In Scene Seven, Kay's made her way to her son's (Mike Ranger's) room, where his cock--despite her best efforts to resist it--beckons her in (oral, vaginal ; titty-fuck to a cum-shot on the tits and face). Scene Eight brings Mike Ranger and his onscreen mother, Kay Parker, together again...this time in his bed...and against her better judgment (oral, vaginal ; cum-shot on the chest and breasts). In Scene Nine, Don Fernando gives Miko Yani a quickie (vaginal ; pop on the bush, cummy reinsertion). Scene Ten offers up the insatiable Juliet Anderson masturbating as Kay tells her about her relationship with her son. In Scene Eleven, Juliet continues to sate her dirty desires with Miko Yani after Kay's gone. Scene Twelve brings together Kay Parker with her (non-familial) suitor and boss, Michael Morrison, for an oral romp in the bedroom (oral ; she jerks him to a spurting ejaculation). Wild stuff!
