This release from Vinegar Syndrome has two films from Duck Dumont from the same year on it. Both films suffer from the same issue, a lack of a plot and some lacking set design, but both have the same positive to them, some excellent sex scenes. Fans of Dumont will obviously want to pick up this release fans of the genre may ultimately be disappointed by the films on the release. Vinegar Syndrome has done an outstanding job with the audio and video quality on their DVD release of Pleasure Maze and Lovers Lane. [read the full review]

"Savannah: The Lost Footage" is advertised as a "tribute" to one of the true stars in the history of adult films, Savannah. Released a bit after the 15 year anniversary of her tragic passing, this movie promises her fans a renewed look at the actress via offering up some rare footage. Sadly, these promises are largely empty, as the DVD is full not with the "4 Hours of the 'Legendary Savannah'" displayed on the front of the disc, but instead with fifteen scenes--only three of which actually feature the star. In all, the only reason that this DVD received any stars here is due to Savannah. The fact that only three of fifteen scenes include her is shameful. The claims of "4 hours" when there are barely over three is also inexcusable. The lack of a Main Menu and any type of bonuses is unfortunate, as well. I would avoid this disc unless you are the most avid Savannah fan imaginable and have to have everything that she has done. Indeed, Savannah deserves much better than this. [read the full review]

The plot and acting are both terrible but since it has the Wall To Wall feature I am not taking off any points. The set is convincing, and many have thought it was shot in a hospital although it was really shot on a sound stage in San Francisco. The acting is reasonably good, although the plot isn't complicated: a bunch of hospital patients who are more horny than sick, and three candy stripers willing to serve any way they can, including sexually. Many have commented that the women in classic porn are not as good looking as today's crop. Although that is generally true, Amber Hunt, for example, could hold her own even in today's porn biz. Arrow has done an outstanding job restoring sound and picture, and one of the cutest things about this movie is the song that was composed and performed for it. The audio is in excellent shape and comes through clear at all times and I didn't notice any hard to understand dialogue. Now on to the plot of the movie. This movie has enough plot to keep a soap opera going for 6 months, but don't let that discourage you my fellow porn viewers. I found the story well developed and if you follow it closely it is quite interesting and it will hold your attention. You do have to pay attention though to know what is happening. This is not a film you can fast forward through and know what is happening. The plot involves 3 couples of whom the men of the 3 couples all have one thing in common they have all dated Alexandra. Alexandra remains a mystery throughout the movie. Alexandra has something in store for these 3 couples though, she wants the guys, girlfriends to think that she is about to tell their boyfriends about their secret sexual shenanigans. That it is a product of the seventies is clear from the opening credits where the screen is broken into four parts with a tennis ball in the middle. Over the tennis ball are displayed the names of the cast and primary crew, and the four screens play various clips from the film whetting the viewers appetite and preparing them for what is about to come. It all starts when Herb Adler (John Martin) wakes up and rolls over to his nude wife, Liz (Candida Royalle). He begins to grope her and tries to arouse her, but she will have none of it. Through an angry exchange on Herb's part, we find out that this is their usual behavior. Herb claims she is frigid. She does not deny this, and Herb storms off to get a shower. Here is a splendid little classic from 1979, produced by Harold Lime and directed by Robert McCallum. As is usual with "Golden Age" classics, the plot, acting, exterior shots and general production values are outstanding. This flick was shot on location in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. They dont make them like this anymore. Jamie Gillis plays a washed up B-movie star who is down on his luck. He has been reduced to escorting starlets to movie premieres, a service for which his agent pays him a few bucks plus expenses. He still makes the rounds of Hollywood parties, however, and at one such event, his host, J.C. Church, observes him seducing Desiree Cousteau. It is a hypnotic scene; Cousteau was a beautiful girl with wonderful, natural breasts. Georgina Spelvin secretly observes them, while being secretly observed herself by J.C. Naturally, more "unusual" types of sexual behavior are subject to local laws and community standards, but as far as I know, there have been no limitations as to how the male orgasm can be shown before the camera.
