Synopsis:
Liz's (Candida Royalle) husband Herb (Jon Martin) spends all of his time at a tennis club. She hears that all that goes on at the club is sex. So she joins the club to see for herself what is going on there.

Audio/Video:
Hot Rackets is presented with an English 2.0 Mono track, which could have been much better. The track sounds like it is the original audio track for the film. In some places during the film the dialog is at a lower level then the rest of the film making it hard to hear. Other than that, there are no real issues with the audio quality. NuTech hasn't included any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the film.

Hot Rackets is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1. I'm not sure if this is the original aspect ratio for the film or not. If the picture has been modified to fit the screen, no evidence of it can be seen during the film. Given the age of the film, the picture is in great shape. There are artifacts present throughout the film and there are occasional video glitches present. In some places during the film the colors look washed out and in other places, blacks are shown too light so they look grey.

Special Features:
As per the standard of the old NuTech Classics Collection releases, there are almost no extras included on the disc. There is a photo gallery included on the disc with 8 stills from the film and the good news is a few of them aren't over exposed. On the second side of the disc there are seven X-rated and one R-rated trailers available in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 sound. There is also a NuTech filmography on Kaylan on the second side of the disc.

Navigation:
There are nine chapters available from the main menu for Hot Rackets. They are identified by a chapter name and a video clip from where the chapter goes to. Given the style of the film, the amount of chapters available from the menu are below what there should be. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
The story for the film is well done and is aided by great locations and sets. The film is also aided by humor being thrown in around the film. You can tell right from the beginning of the film that some work went into making it when the opening credits start and the screen is divided into four pieces with a tennis ball in the middle. The credits seem very mainstream and although this is definitely an adult film, the whole film has a mainstream feel to it.

The sex scenes in the film are rather short, which will bug fans of long scenes and they don't resemble the scenes of today. They are rather simplistic, but fit with the story much better than scenes often do today. The sex scenes don't show everything usually, there are a few that are only blow jobs or masturbation, but these scenes tease you for what is coming up ahead. This is the kind of film that you can watch from start to finish, because it is that good.

The cast does a great job with their material, both sexual and non-sexual, which adds to the charm of the film. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal sex with pussy eating (male to female and female to female), lesbianism, hand jobs, blow jobs, 69, female masturbation, toys and orgy. As with other films from the same time period, there are no condoms used anywhere within the film.

The Scenes:
The first scene gives us Cris Cassidy and Jon Martin for a scene that only contains a blow job. The second scene gives us Candida Royalle and only features her masturbating. The third scene gives us Rhonda Jo Petty and Mike Ranger for a scene that starts out with some pussy eating and a blow job before going into the vaginal sex.

The fourth scene features Candida Royalle and Ray Wells and contains only a blow job. The fifth scene features Candida Royalle masturbating with a toy. The sixth scene features Cris Cassidy and Turk Lyon and starts with some pussy eating before they go into the blow job. The scene concludes with some vaginal sex.

The seventh scene brings us Laurien Dominique and John Raymond for a blow job only. The eighth scene brings us Candida Royalle and Laurien Dominique for a lesbian scene that includes pussy eating. The ninth scene brings us Cris Cassidy and Turk Lyon for a blow job followed by some vaginal sex.

The tenth scene gives us Cris Cassidy and an unknown male for a quick blow job. The eleventh scene gives us Desiree Cousteau and Mike Ranger for some pussy eating followed by some vaginal sex. Then there is a blow job before going back to the vaginal sex. The twelfth scene gives us Desiree Cousteau and Jon Martin and features a blow job before some pussy eating. The scene concludes with vaginal sex.

The thirteenth scene features Laurien Dominique, Candida Royalle and Mike Ranger and starts out with a blow job, hand job and pussy eating combo before going to the vaginal sex to end the scene. The fourteenth scene features Laurien Dominique, Mike Ranger, Mimi Morgan, Chuck Hadman and others and consists of blow jobs and vaginal sex. The fifteenth and final scene in the film features Jon Martin and Rhonda Jo Petty and starts out with a blow job before going into the vaginal sex.

Parting Thoughts:
Unfortunately they don't make films like this today, with as much work going into the non-sex portions as the sexual portions fans of the classics and fans of adult films with a plot will find this to be one they'll want to pick up for their collection. Viewers that require nasty sex or long sex scenes may not find this film to their liking but for everyone else, this is definitely one you should rent, if not just purchase. This film is also perfectly acceptable for couples to watch.
