"Summer Beach House" is a sub-par, 1980 release from Gourmet Video featuring Danielle and Becky Savage as frisky sisters who have a home on the beach for the summer (...hence the title...). The whole film is shot indoors, and the house itself doesn't really scream, "fun in the sun", either. Moreover, this one is super-short and looks like it could have been shot by anyone with a home camcorder. While the sex isn't bad--it's fairly average, with the final orgy being the best--just about everything else is. As such, I'd recommend steering clear of this one. [read the full review]

Funny moments, true missteps, wood issues, and micromanaging directors are all highlighted. A number of stars from the era make appearances, some more so than others, and the release does provide a nice look at life on a porn set from a time period when BTS material really wasn't mass-produced and readily available. That it is a product of the seventies is clear from the opening credits where the screen is broken into four parts with a tennis ball in the middle. Over the tennis ball are displayed the names of the cast and primary crew, and the four screens play various clips from the film whetting the viewers appetite and preparing them for what is about to come. It all starts when Herb Adler (John Martin) wakes up and rolls over to his nude wife, Liz (Candida Royalle). He begins to grope her and tries to arouse her, but she will have none of it. Through an angry exchange on Herb's part, we find out that this is their usual behavior. Herb claims she is frigid. She does not deny this, and Herb storms off to get a shower.
