The box art description (in part) states -
"A film in the style of Emmanuelle, but with a raw passion of The Story of O. Clair has a powerful, almost supernatural attraction to those about her. Living alone in her stately mansion, she attracts the most fascinating men and women to her estate, where seemingly bound her aberrant desires, they eagerly give themselves sexually to her and to each other."
I like Annette Haven, she has done some excellent films and this description captured my interest.
The only part of this description I recognized after viewing the film was "almost supernatural."
In the opening scene Annette seduces a drunken artist played by John Rolling while he agonizes over not being able to capture Annette's true spirit in the portrait he is trying to create. This scene was a typical Annette Haven scene and one never suspects that the remainder of the film is a mess.
After scene one the film jumps to "Four Years Later" and begins to appear to have been filmed by a crew on drugs.
Some of the frames showing sexual action are triple exposures taken at different angles, including upside down. At one point I had to check my player to see if it was in Fast Forward mode.
Susan Bates plays the part of another artist. Her boyfriend (Jay Gamble) seems to have a longing for Annette (who doesn't) but neither can deal with it. Confusion reigns. Actually it's a downpour.
A lot of driving around in a small car.
Finally, near the end of the film, Bates in a fit of despair, begins to cut herself with a ancient dagger.
I was never able to understand the story line as described in the box art and my rating of 1 is based on Annette Haven's opening scene. I haven't viewed all of Haven's films (many are OOP) but I can't believe that Cal Vista would waste money re-releasing this one instead of some other Haven feature. ANY other Haven feature.
