5 Films 5 Years 1 (Blu-ray) review summaries:
Flash's
5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is an excellent limited edition Blu-ray collection of five classic adult films. The set contains Too Naughty to Say No, Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls, The Ribald Tales of Canterbury, Prisoner of Paradise, and Dixie Ray Hollywood Star. The films on the release span from 1978 to 1985 and, honestly, fans of golden age adult films should find several to their liking, even if not all of the films included are favorites. None of the films on this release have ever looked better on home video and 5 Films 5 Years Volume 1: Golden Age Erotica is definitely worth picking up before it is sold out. [read the full review]

42nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 16 is a decent compilation of loops from back when they were shot on 16mm film and released on 8mm film for home viewing. As can be expected from a compilation such as this, some of the loops are far better than others. Impulse Pictures has done a decent job with the release, all of the loops included are in good shape but unfortunately the only identification they have been given is their original name. If you like the old 8mm grinders, you will find a lot to like here. [read the full review]

Too Naughty To Say No (Vinegar Syndrome) review summaries:
Rick L. Blalock's
In the 1984 film, TOO NAUGHTY TO SAY NO, "Betty"(Angel) is a good little Catholic Schoolgirl, who attends the local convent. Betty is studying her scriptures hard, as it is the day before the school's final exam. However, no matter how much she studies, she is hung up on a single, word, which appears several times throughout the writings. That would is "begat". She's not quite sure what it means. However, little did she know that soon enough, she would get at a heavy dose of "begatting"(of orgasms!). That's because soon, Betty doses off to sleep, as she subsequently finds her in a world unlike the one that she is accustomed. To her, it all looks the same, that is until things take a turn for the perverse. [read the full review]

The half-Japanese, half-Caucasian adult film industry legend, Loni Sanders, puts on quite the sexy show in "The Golden Age of Porn: Loni Sanders", a very good compilation from Gentlemen's Video. Indeed, this bicontinental, bisexual babe is simultaneously curvy and slender and is always up for a good dicking, or so it seems from this steamy production's five sequences. With every scene a winner, and Ms. Sanders' enthusiasm and moves unmatched, it's easy to recommend this short release as a great way to get to know one of porn's most popular performers of yesteryear. Miss Passion & Love Bites review summaries:
Linus'
Miss Passion and Love Bites Double Feature Directed by: Suze Randall - Initial Thoughts: Flashback time, back to the days of bush and big hair. For this disc, we take a trip back to the 80's, when Amber and Ginger Lynn were all the rage in porn, and features ruled the day. Suze Randall brings us a double feature, one movie from each of these two super babes catalogue. Miss Passion features Ginger Lynn, and is hosted by Suze Randall as "Suze Cooze" and is kind of this mix between a sexual exhibition and a porn gameshow, basically the precursor to Gonzo, with some style and costumes added. Love Bites features Amber Lynn, and is more of a traditional feature, with a focus on fantasy. Both features are cut down a bit, "Miss Passion is missing about 19 minutes and 2 scenes, Ginger and Traci and Steve Drake and Traci. "Love Bites" is missing nearly 25 minutes, and I couldn't find how many scenes since there was no good breakdown anywhere I looked. Again Traci is the reason. [read the full review]

A streetwise private investigator (John Leslie) finds himself wrapped up in a web of lies, chicanery, and murder when a former, big-name actress, "Dixie Ray" (Lisa DeLeeuw), hires him to uncover who's trying to blackmail her with a compromising photo. Along the way, Leslie encounters a cadre of characters and criminals and a bevy of babes who are just aching to get laid by the smooth-talking ladies' man...a fact that he takes full advantage of, of course. How it will all turn out, whether everything's truly as it seems, and whether John can put the whole caper together remain the burning questions of the day. When two gas station attendants, Jamie Gillis and Bud Wise, read an article about Hollywood starlets who are supplementing their incomes in the real estate business by treating high-end clients to the times of their lives, they both know that they have to get in on the deal. Of course, this means pretending to be wealthy, oil tycoons who have struck it rich and are looking to score some property from the ladies. And, to be fair, the pair does, indeed, eventually strike it rich--but in pussy, not crude--and they do score quite frequently, as well--just not in picking up property. Such is the case in "800 Fantasy Lane", a very good, 1979 release from VCX and Svetlana. [read the full review]

It seems like just about everyone is fucking everyone else, and those who aren't fucking are peeking in on those who are, in "I Like To Watch", a very good, 1982 release from Caballero and director Paul G. Vatelli. While a television fashion show that Pat Manning is putting on with the aid of her lovely, brunette assistant, Bridgette Monet, serves as the backdrop for this sexual escapade, it's truly its finely-captured and well-played erotic encounters that set it apart. The world is in crisis as the evil space demon, "Sugar Man" (Jamie Gillis), posing as an "innocent" South American dictator, spreads impotence across the planet via his country's tainted sugar. With his plans to exterminate the human race (and thereby clear the planet for his own kind) in full force, the super powers of the world find themselves desperately at one another's throats...and it turns out that only the stunningly beautiful blonde super-alien, "Ultra Flesh" (Seka), and her "Fleshettes" can save them...and the world. Such is the case in the aptly titled "Ultra Flesh", a very good, 1980 release from Svetlana and Collector's Video (as distributed by VCX). [read the full review]

On White Satin Directed by The Lewis Brothers Running time (approx): 68mins After long last I finally tracked down this forgotten classic. Although not as widely known as other films from the golden age of porn such as Insatiable, The Devil In Miss Jones or Deep throat, this one remains special for me as it was one of those porn films I had seen on an old frequently copied VHS years ago, and when I heard it was available on DVD, nostalgia kicked in. The plot, if you can call it that is very basic, following the story of various people in or around a secluded holiday cabin location who are inspired into various carnal activities when exposed to white satin sheets. I remember the version I originally watched was called Satin Sheets, and as you can probably imagine, for a guy of sixteen or so, it was like Id discovered the lost treasure of the Aztecs. Running Time: 77 min. Production Date: 1979 Director: Svetlana Cast: Jamie Gillis, Bud Wide, Chris Anderson, Nicki Phillips, Serena, Candy Summer, Desiree Cousteau, Amy Leigh, Nancy Suiter, Hillary Summers, and Lisa DeLeeuw Initial Expectations: This has some great performers from the golden age of porn. Hopefully itll live up to its fun premise. Initial Reaction: Although I really hate that the feature was edited, I still really enjoyed it. Who Should Watch It : Anybody who likes natural women and plot with their porn Who Should Avoid It: Raincoaters and anybody who likes more hardcore sex Audio /Video Quality: The audio is normally clear and nicely balanced, although there is a little bit of dubbing. It sounds much better than I would have expected for the age. The video isnt crystal clear, but normally looks as good or better than most TV shows from the same era. There are a few spots where theres a little fuzz or pixelation, but overall its also very good. [read the full review]

Diville's
Starring: Lisa DeLeeuw, Dorothy LeMay, Georgina Spelvin, Susan Nero, Chris Cassidy, Brooke West, John Leslie, Dewey Alexander, Hershel Savage Directed By: Robert McCallum The term "classic porn" is usually an oxymoron. After all, even the very best adult movies were cranked out over a week's shooting and shared little in common with their mainstream counterparts. Deep Throat, for all it's grandeur in the porn world is still a B-movie production. Yet, these "classics" are pretty damned entertaining, and nobody ever got off watching Citizen Kane. Garage Girls is one such classic "good time" kind of movie. It's silly, it's dated, and its jokes fall about as flat as a souffle in a thunderstorm. But, it's also sexy, fun to watch, and worth the discounted price most on-line retailers are charging for it. Garage Girls plays like one of those late night cable movies about a bunch of frat guys and their misadventures at spring break. You know the kind; you might find Danny Bonaduce making a cameo. This is no spring break movie, though. [read the full review]

If people want to have sex for my entertainment, who am I not to watch them? That means, among other things, that I have absolutely nothing against "old school" porn. By the same token, however, I don't think "classic" movies are inherently better than what's made today. With that in mind, Blue Ribbon Blue presents itself as a greatest hits package of classic stars. Unfortunately, it's not. In fact, it was produced years ago before its performers were even considered legends, and its poor mastering reflect just how much of a thrown together effort it actually is. Had they known that it would be released in the 21st century, it's producers may have paid closer attention to what they included. [read the full review]

Most of what I wrote about "The Ecstasy Girls" also applies to this film. This is a 1982 Harold Lime production, directed by Robert McCallum. With Veronica Hart and Annette Haven, there's more star power in this flick, but the final product is not quite as good as the wonderful "Ecstasy Girls." The plot is "Ecstasy Girls" in reverse. Here, Georgina Spelvin is the publisher of a soft-core porn mag called "Panther," featuring centerfolds of smart college girls. Some morality guardians form a committee called Morality over Madness (MOM), and try to put Panther out of business. Spelvin has to round up her centerfold graduates to go out and seduce the committee members, retain evidence of the hanky-panky, and ultimately blackmail the members into ceasing their assault on Panther magazine. The video is average and the audio echoes in spots, but is much better than other adult films of this age, such as the Original Debbie Does Dallas. The Review: Centerspread Girls kind of reminds me of my youth. It revolves around MOM trying to stop porn (or at least not let me have it). Here is a Harold Lime/Robert McCallum classic from 1982 that is still famous over 20 years later. It won six adult film critic awards, including best picture. Because it was filmed near the end of the "golden age," there aren't quite as many exterior shots as there would have been in movies a few years older. The plot involves a madam named Amanda (Veronica Hart) who, as a favor to her former pimp and lover (Jamie Gillis), sets up an S & M session for a local politician. The girls that she sends for this session (Lisa de Leeuw and Samantha Fox) are later found dead. R. Bolla plays the straight-arrow homicide detective trying to solve the case, without much help from Amanda. To make matters worse, there's a corrupt vice squad cop (Ron Jeremy) who is constantly getting in the way. By today's standards, this is couples' fare, with relatively short sex scenes, and loads of plot. It's so good-hearted, it could almost be on the Family Channel. Veronica Hart gets to over-act and ham it up ridiculously. It's a good movie, but a poor DVD. [read the full review]

The path to music superstardom is fraught with users, losers, cutthroat competition, and, of course, plenty of hot, steamy sex, as a young country singer, Marilyn Chambers, quickly discovers. Fortunately for the beautiful adult legend, her smooth, seductive, and sultry style--coupled with her natural talents and street smarts--are enough to overcome any obstacle in her way. Such is the case in "Up 'N Coming", a very good, 1982 release from Godfrey Daniels and I-Candy. [read the full review]

Pre Viewing Expectations The case notes this is a classic porn release, and briefly describes the plot. Most of the space on the back is used to list the extras included on the disc, and what a list it is, right down to the Dolby 5.1 sound. I don't have a Dolby 5.1 setup, so I can't comment on this. Too bad the case tells one how to find the bonus photos, half of the fun would have been searching around the various menus looking for the hidden tag. The Main Event This is a golden classis from the early days of Porn. It was produced in the early 1980's and stars the one and only Marilyn Chambers. She brings her own energy to any movie she stars in, which is just as hot now as it was the day she shot it. This movie is no exception. There are eight scenes total, with Marilyn appearing in a majority of those. Many of the scenes show actions we take for granted today, but were virtually unheard of back then. [read the full review]

As much as I love iCandy and Marilyn Chambers, I have to admit that the sex is not the highlight of this DVD. Up n Coming is loaded with plot and (aside from Marilyn's enjoyable songs) bad country music. The movie script, the audio commentary and Marilyn are what make this DVD so great. I may be crazy, but Marilyn's body looks even better in this flick than in Insatiable. When she's rubbing herself in the shower, every muscle in her body flexes. This is really a stunning opener, even though it doesn't lead to anything.Plot The plot centers on the trials and tribulations of up and coming country music singer, Cassie Harland (Marilyn.) Cassie learns that PR equals giving good head and falling legends, Lisa DeLeeuw, don't take their loss of stardom lightly. The acting and character development are excellent. So good that you really don't want to see the mean Lisa get any good sex (though she does get a nice threesome with her studly thug and his girlie.)Sex A few sex scenes stand out. Such is the case in "8 to 4", a very good adult takeoff on the 1980 mainstream flick featuring Dolly Parton and company, "9 to 5". [read the full review]

This classic deserves to be remembered. If you dream of slipping your hard cock into Lisa DeLeeuw, Veronica Hart, Loni Sanders, or Juliet Anderson, you should check this one out. [read the full review]

Films like this built the reputation of the "golden age" of adult, i.e., the years 1975 through 1982. This 1981 film is, of course, a spoof on the 1980 mainstream film "9 to 5" that starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Dabney Coleman. In the adult version their parts are play by Loni Sanders, Annette Haven, Lisa DeLeew, and Herschel Savage. There's even a very nice theme song take-off on the famous Dolly Parton song that went with the mainstream movie. Plot and acting are superior to most seen today, and the sex scenes not only fit the plot, they advance the plot. Although the sex is by today's standards strictly couples fare, this is still a very hot movie and well worthwhile. Technically the disc is quite good, although the reverse angle gimmick was simply annoying. The video quality and audio are very good, given the age of the source material. [read the full review]
