The orgy is divided into three parts, and before each part, there is a behind the scene look of the stars arriving on set, which is nothing but a huge bed covered in red silk. I know porn is a business; that's no shock, but I thought it was a poor choice that hindered the passion that the perfromers put togther. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" Well, this is the second Digital Playground disc I've seen, and the first I've ever reviewed, so how did it stack up? The Movie: Okay, I'm going to start this off by saying that if you hate movies with a lot of talking and character stuff, then avoid Stripped at all costs. This movie is very dialogue heavy, and all the sex is very spaced out. There are several really well done strip scenes, but I don't know if many would find them all that worthy of wank material. This is a very strong couples film, but is not a very good whack movie. The sex is good, although the scenes are fairly short. I was actually suprised with how the sex seemed almost pushed to the side, but what is there is good, and is fairly hot, and very well filmed. The first scene is between Devon and Barett. It's a nice scene, but not really memorable. You go from the usual oral (male to female, female to male) then in to some vaginal sex in about two positions. Golden girl Missy looks sweetly demure, but always desirable in HEARTACHE, a Brad Armstrong- directed feature video about infidelity and temptation, which are always dependable vehicles for hot sex in any porn film, or any Fox-TV show for that matter. Old man Herschel Savage plays the husband of young Missy, who has a sexual longing and need for fulfillment which is convincing in this soap opera-ish tale (thankfully, the title of this movie has nothing to do with that old Bonnie Tyler song from the late seventies). Golden girl Missy looks sweetly demure, but always desirable in HEARTACHE, a Brad Armstrong- directed feature video about infidelity and temptation, which are always dependable vehicles for hot sex in any porn film, or any Fox-TV show for that matter. Old man Herschel Savage plays the husband of young Missy, who has a sexual longing and need for fulfillment which is convincing in this soap opera-ish tale (thankfully, the title of this movie has nothing to do with that old Bonnie Tyler song from the late seventies). The movie takes place amidst Spanish settings and costumes, which add to the feel and texture to the story. The VCX dvd of Debbie Does Dallas is slightly longer than the NuTech dvd of Debbie Does Dallas. I have seen both and noticed 4 slight cuts to the NuTech dvd. None of which were major. The running time on the VCX dvd is 19 seconds longer than the NuTech dvd, but the NuTech dvd has a better quality picture so I would recommend going with the NuTech dvd over the VCX dvd. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" I have to say, I think "Double Feature" is one of the few pornos that could actually have a chance in the mainstream. This movie works very well as a comedy, and yet still has some very well done, although not always all that daring, sex. Movie Content: Other reviews have gone through this movie scene by scene, so I'll just do a general overview. The first feature that we see is a Sci-Fi spoof, with three female aliens coming down, and turning the men of earth in to sex slaves. This is the better of the two featured stories when it comes to comedy, but the weaker of the two when it comes to sex. There are really no stand out sex scenes in this section, although the scene with Jewel D'nyle and Herschal Savage is fairly hot, and you can tell that both of them are in to it. The rest of the scenes are fairly vanilla. Although there are two group scenes in this part, both of them fall a little flat. Because it was filmed near the end of the "golden age," there aren't quite as many exterior shots as there would have been in movies a few years older. The plot involves a madam named Amanda (Veronica Hart) who, as a favor to her former pimp and lover (Jamie Gillis), sets up an S & M session for a local politician. The girls that she sends for this session (Lisa de Leeuw and Samantha Fox) are later found dead. R. Bolla plays the straight-arrow homicide detective trying to solve the case, without much help from Amanda. To make matters worse, there's a corrupt vice squad cop (Ron Jeremy) who is constantly getting in the way. By today's standards, this is couples' fare, with relatively short sex scenes, and loads of plot. It's so good-hearted, it could almost be on the Family Channel. Shot on a soundstage in San Francisco in 1982, the movie has the look and feel of the hit seventies and early 80s TV show, M*A*S*H. In fact, the overhead footage at the beginning of the film is the same outdoor set built for the mainstream show. Paul Thomas plays the Hawkeye character, called Jaybird, and Joey Silvera plays the Radar character. The female lead, hot hips Henderson, is played by Jessie St. James, who looks remarkably like hot lips Hoolihan. St. James does a remarkable acting job, and even seems to have some of Loretta Swits style and mannerisms. Unfortunately, this films close similarity to the show it is parodying is about the only thing it has going for it. The Main Event This is a golden classis from the early days of Porn. It was produced in the early 1980's and stars the one and only Marilyn Chambers. She brings her own energy to any movie she stars in, which is just as hot now as it was the day she shot it. This movie is no exception. As much as I love iCandy and Marilyn Chambers, I have to admit that the sex is not the highlight of this DVD. Up n Coming is loaded with plot and (aside from Marilyn's enjoyable songs) bad country music. The movie script, the audio commentary and Marilyn are what make this DVD so great. I may be crazy, but Marilyn's body looks even better in this flick than in Insatiable. When she's rubbing herself in the shower, every muscle in her body flexes. This is really a stunning opener, even though it doesn't lead to anything.Plot The plot centers on the trials and tribulations of up and coming country music singer, Cassie Harland (Marilyn.) Cassie learns that PR equals giving good head and falling legends, Lisa DeLeeuw, don't take their loss of stardom lightly. The acting and character development are excellent. So good that you really don't want to see the mean Lisa get any good sex (though she does get a nice threesome with her studly thug and his girlie.)Sex A few sex scenes stand out. Films like this built the reputation of the "golden age" of adult, i.e., the years 1975 through 1982. This 1981 film is, of course, a spoof on the 1980 mainstream film "9 to 5" that starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Dabney Coleman. In the adult version their parts are play by Loni Sanders, Annette Haven, Lisa DeLeew, and Herschel Savage. There's even a very nice theme song take-off on the famous Dolly Parton song that went with the mainstream movie. Plot and acting are superior to most seen today, and the sex scenes not only fit the plot, they advance the plot. Although the sex is by today's standards strictly couples fare, this is still a very hot movie and well worthwhile. Technically the disc is quite good, although the reverse angle gimmick was simply annoying. The video quality and audio are very good, given the age of the source material. [read the full review]
