The First Word:  The first Double Feature! solidified Jonathan Morgan's reign as king of the pornographic comedy with its parody of the 1950's serial movies.  After a boatload of nominations and wins, it was inevitable that a sequel, The Bride of Double Feature!, would be made.  Can the king repeat with another hit?

What's It About?:  Just like the first Double Feature!, Bride starts with coming attractions set in 50's style.  "Bullets, Broads, and Bathtub Gin," "My Saddle is Hard," and "Planet of the Alien Freaks" are the trio of trailers of Cheesy Pictures presentations that use the same script in different settings.  While it's funny to see Serenity, Tabitha Stevens, and Randy Spears in tongue-in-cheek situations, it gets old fast, and by the end of the second trailer, you're wanting to skip to the main feature.

The feature presentation is a double feature (duh).  The first movie is called "Stab in the Dark."  There's some cheesy plot shot in black and white (widescreen for those who care).  The basic premise is that Serenity is trying to off her rich husband for the inheritance.  Consuela the maid (Asia Carerra) summons Dick Danger (Randy Spears), private investigator and her former lover to hurry to her employer's house.  The movie fades from black and white into full-screen color as Serenity and her clueless hubby (Herschel Savage) get down to business.  There's some nice 69 before she rides him cowgirl until he starts to orgasm.  She finishes him off with a nice handjob, giving him an apparent heart attack.  But he's not dead yet, and she resorts to humorous means to finish him off.

We find out that she's in cahoots with her lover (Mickey G), who is supposed to kill off the surviving heirs  But he and his blonde bimbo (Tabitha Stevens) have other plans.  But since this is a porno, they make sweet love first with the help of a pizza delivery girl (Daniella Rush).  I loved the tongue DP that the Tabitha receives, the pounding anal that Daniella Rush takes like a champ, and the dripping facial and post-pop sucking.

At the reading of the will, the first two heirs are murdered.  Dick Danger suspects foul play and asks Consuela to help him locate a phone.  While it's a pretty vanilla scene (no anal or facial for you Asia Carerra fans), it does have a nice pearl necklace pop and, well, it has Asia Carerra!  The next sex scene starts almost immediately, with Mickey G. and Serenity hooking up in the mansion's bathroom.  It's a very quick scene, beginning with a BJ that is well-shot from below and ending a few minutes later with a weak between-the-tits spooge.  With the sex done and the first feature near the end, the plot wraps up equally as quick.

The last half of the double feature is "Mo Mo The Jungle Guy," set on the African savannah.  Serenity is Tabitha, who is on safari with Drake (Mike Horner), her lover who is trying to inherit her fortune.  When trying to throw her to a bear, she's saved by Mo Mo (Randy Spears), a Tarzan-like jungle dude.  They agree to try to rehabilitate this savage as his reward for saving her.  But first, Drake and Tabitha must express their physical love.  As with most of the scenes in this feature, the beginning and end of the sex are the best parts.  The beginning features Serenity's awesome blowjob technique, and the ending is Mike's big load across her stomach.

Back in the States, the hired help (Tabitha Stevens and Kyle Stone) hook up for some vag and anal action.  It's a little hard to get into the scene since even the sloppy BJ doesn't get Kyle completely hard.  Once they're fucking, his pale cock almost looks like a plastic dildo. :-(  It does warm up during the anal sex, but the buttfucking doesn't last that long before Kyle cums.

Serenity's character feels that Mo Mo is ready for his debut at a cocktail party they are hosting.  Of course, when Kaylynn, Bridgette Kerkove, Tasha Hunter Anji Cooper, Anthony Crane, Dave Hardman and Rick Masters show up, you know that it's going to be orgytime soon.  Thanks to Mo Mo's spiking of the punch, the flesh party begins.  The camerawork is fairly random, with bits and pieces that caught my eye, such as the good blowjobs to start things off, cute Kaylynn getting fucked in reverse cow, and busty Tasha Hunter taking it up the ass in screen-filling detail.  It isn't the best orgy that you'll likely see, but it has a few good moments, depending on whether you like any of the folks involved.

The final sex scene is with Serenity and Randy as they elope to Africa.  It's a standard boy-girl fuck scene that doesn't really do anything for me.  Unless you're into the Tarzan/Jane, faux leopard skin clothing fantasy, you probably will agree that it's a pretty standard scene.  But with eight sex scenes, even if you take out a couple of them, there's still enough good sex to make this a solid movie with a creative twist.

What I liked: Fun Style:  I really like the idea behind Bride!--I like parodies in porn, and what is more spoofable than the brainless movies of the 50's?  Jonathan Morgan relies on a lot of visual humor and a few one liners to keep a smile on your face throughout.  It's pretty clear that the cast was having fun making this movie, which is more than we can usually say about adult films.  I see so many porn flicks that are just about the sex that it's really refreshing to see something different every now and then.

What I didn't like:  Fake tits:  Just about every woman in this feature has artificial knockers.  Even the ones with decent boob jobs betray their augmentations when they lean over and you get that sickening skin pulling from the weight of the implants.  These girls may be the best actresses, performers, or people in the world, but for me, it's a huge turn-off to see fake boobs--call me crazy.

DVD Extras:  The Bride of Double Feature has a lot of extras and is one of the earlier adult DVDs with this many extras.  First, there's an audio commentary by director Jonathan Morgan.  I'm disappointed with the commentary--not only is Jonathan's commentary very "play by play" oriented (i.e. explaining the plot and the sets) and very little "color" commentary.  He's quiet throughout much of the movie.  It would have been better if Serenity or Randy could have joined it--it's always easier and funnier when there are a couple of people involved in the commentary.

The main bonus feature is the nearly 37-minute long "All Access Behind the Scenes: The Making of Bride of Double Feature."  Red Ezra is probably the best director/editor for these behind-the-scenes featurettes in the industry, and this one is no exception.  The video gives us a good sense of the atmosphere on the set, bloopers and gags, the filming process, and the personalities of the performers and crew.  Among the things you'll see:  Randy accidentally ashing his cigarette onto Tabitha's bunghole, Asia styling her hair while topless, and Serenity trying to get a stray hair out of her mouth after blowing Randy (and while Jonathan is making cat furball jokes in the background).

There's also a six and a half minute blooper reel with a lot of flubbed lines.  It's not that funny to me, but it does show that the cast and crew had some fun making the movie.  Rounding out the extras are two photo galleries, audio star biographies, four trailers, and an assortment of Wicked promotional material.

A/V Quality:   The contrast between the black and white plot footage and the full-color sex portions is nothing short of stunning.  While the colors are not as saturated as I'd like, the overall brightness of the scenes more than make up for it.  Except for compression jaggies along vertical lines (such as the edge of a shoe or a bra strap), the video is as crystal clear and "you are there" as any feature I've seen.  The audio isn't quite as good -- the production sound is a bit muffled, making it harder to understand the dialogue.  The dance-beat music is also a bit too loud as compared to the production audio.

The Last Word:  When the votes are tallied, I think that The Bride of Double Feature! is about as good as the first Double Feature!.  I think the plot and originality were better in the original, but the sex is about the same on average.  It's not a laugh-out-loud comedy, but will draw a chuckle or bad joke groan, I guarantee.  I think it would work as something different to watch other than the endless stream of gonzo, or as a light-hearted couples porno.  It's also a good choice to play at a swingers party or a get-together with some like-minded friends.  Recommended for the fun factor and as a good Wicked-style porno.
