I have to say, I think "Double Feature" is one of the few pornos that could actually have a chance in the mainstream. This movie works very well as a comedy, and yet still has some very well done, although not always all that daring, sex.
Movie Content: Other reviews have gone through this movie scene by scene, so I'll just do a general overview.
The first feature that we see is a Sci-Fi spoof, with three female aliens coming down, and turning the men of earth in to sex slaves. This is the better of the two featured stories when it comes to comedy, but the weaker of the two when it comes to sex. There are really no stand out sex scenes in this section, although the scene with Jewel D'nyle and Herschal Savage is fairly hot, and you can tell that both of them are in to it. The rest of the scenes are fairly vanilla. Although there are two group scenes in this part, both of them fall a little flat. The first group scene has two of the aliens take on two hicks (aliens always go for hicks). Both girls do alright, but the guys seem to be going through the motions. The second group scene is Randy Spears with the three aliens. The scene has some decent heat, but I will say this now, I think Randy Spears is a better actor than he is sexual performer. The girls seem to be having fun with each other, but Randy seems to be a tad bit... overwhelmed.
The second feature is a Frankenstien parody, with Serenity (one of my favorite porn stars) making a man who may be able to please her sexual desires. This one is the weakest in the comedy department for one reason, and one reason only. This section is extremely short. While the first section had four sex scenes, this one has only three, but they take up more of the running time. This section is actually better in the sex department, with Randy Spears doing some of the best work sexually I have ever seen him do. While he isn't great, he does manage to generate a good amount of heat, and oddly enough, stays in character the entire time. The scene with him and Sana Fey (who plays Igor) is a real stand out, with her getting in extremely in to it. The only other scene to give it a run for it's money is the scene between Randy and the Peasant girl. The only reason that scene doesn't get to the same level as the one before is due to the fact that Randy tends to seem bored at times, and goes in to his Frankenstien character, flailing his arms, and making goofy (non-sexual) sounds. The ending is fairly funny for this section though.
There is one other piece to this movie. There are three trailers at the begining of the movie, with "Attack of the 12 Foot Dildo" being one of the stand outs due to some really cheesy special effects, and "Death Rides a Rubber Horse" being the weakest, since the gag just seems to go on for a tad bit to long.
Now, it may seem that most of the sex fell flat, but that isn't true. All of the sex in the movie is really good, although always in the very vanilla realm. This title is very couples friendly, and a really good "Introduction to Porn" film. If you want a very funny, entertaining movie, that has a lot of sex, check out this movie.
A note: This movie includes about 7 sex scenes, all of them lasting a good chunk of time.
The Tech Specs: The movie looks amazing. All of the plot elements are in wide screen and in black and white, and look great. All of the sex scenes are in full screen and in bright color. The transfer is very well done, and captures Jonathan Morgan's excelent direction very well. The sound is also top notch. I would expect nothing less from Wicked.
Extras: There are not a ton of extras, but what is here, is good. There is some AVN Awards footage from the year that Doulbe Feature swept the Awards, and there are the usual cast and crew profiles.
There is also a feature length commentary with Jonathan and Serenity, and I would advise listening to it. It really adds to the film, and has very little dead space.
Over All: This is a great couples title, or for anyone who really isn't in to the super hardcore. The movie is also insanley funny, and one that will keep you watching during the plot bits. Over all, this is High Recommended.
