review from 6/20/2016:
It's like a totally awesome time, for sure, like ya' know... when a pair of 1980's LA dykes lose their source of income and opt to pimp out a local group of valley girls as a means of making ends meet. Of course the girls, who are totally tubular tarts to begin with, are all down for it, especially needing money to buy clothes at the mall and all, which is like having a super rad sale. Such is the case in "California Valley Girls", a very good, 1983 release from VCX and director Hal Freeman. [read the full review]

Jomes'
review from 12/12/2005:
Another excellent compilation of old Swedish Erotica loops. This one features many vignettes that involve interracial sex scenes - with the best ones usually involving threesomes. One very good loop involves a moonshiner (Paul Thomas) getting it on with two chicks - a very pretty brunette and a black girl. The brunette straddles the moonshiner's hips as he drives his massive, throbbing schlong deep into her convulsing pussy. The black girl - hungering for the brunette's sweet pussy juices - dives down between the brunette's legs to begin cunnilingus, but is blocked by the brunette's shiny purple satin garter belt. Depraved is a relatively standard compilation of scenes from unrelated adult films spanning from what looks like the 1970s through the 1990s. If random compilations are your interest, then this may be worth a watch. Otherwise, there is no real reason to pick it up, especially considering the short run time. [read the full review]

review from 4/22/2017:
When the sexually dysfunctional Ginger Lynn scares off the guy of her dreams, Harry Reems, by squirting in his face during cunnilingus, she seeks professional help in the form of a renowned doctor, Annette Haven, who specializes in G-spot orgasms, in order to get him back. Reshaping Harry's attitudes ultimately becomes the focus of Annette's attention, and whether or not the couple will get back together and overcome their differences or not remains the question of the day. Such is the case in "The Grafenberg Spot", a very good, 1985 release from the Mitchell Brothers and Artie Mitchell himself. [read the full review]
Corey Thomas'
review from 9/22/2005:
The Mitchell Brothers' "Grafenberg Spot" was a movie described in the book "Bottom Feeders" as a "six-day wonder shot to fund legal expenses". By the sounds of that description, you would think that the movie is a piece of shit. "The Grafenberg Spot", however is a quite watchable, and actually very entertaining film that while doesn't reach the standards of "Behind the Green Door" or "The Resurrection of Eve", is still a must-see in the adult genre. The cast in this movie are amazing. It is certainly a who's who of adult cinema in 1985. Ginger Lynn, Harry Reems, Annette Haven, John Holmes, Amber Lynn, Nina Hartley, Lili Marlene, Rick Savage. Traci Lords was in the original version of the film. Story tells of a comparative literature graduate named Leslie (played by Ginger), who has the habit of pissing in her lover's (Harry Reems) face while getting eaten out. She goes to a clinic where a doctor (Annette Haven) teaches her about the Grafenberg pleasure spot. [read the full review]

It's all about the nostalgic nookie in "The Golden Age of Porn: Desiree Cousteau", a very good--albeit short--compilation from Gentlemen's Video. review from 12/16/2015:
It's just another wacky day and tacky night in a sex-crazed, 1970's American city in "Teenage Cruisers", an overall-good, oddball release from director Johnny Legend ("The Rockabilly Rasputin") and VCX. Featuring an escaped, havoc-wreaking nymphomaniac (Christine DeShaffer), a pair of horny young women (Lynne Margulies and Serena) cruising around town in search of a just-back-from-'Nam boyfriend, and more comedic, kink-bent Americana than you can shake your dick at, this flick is certainly a trip (...albeit a trippy one...) down memory lane. Flash's
review from 11/27/2015:
Teenage Cruisers is an oddball of a film. It tries very hard to be a rockabilly nostalgia film, but ultimately is a failure. Faked cum shots, loops inserted into the story, missed comedy, and a general failure of a direction for the film pull it down. VCX hasn't attempted to do much with the release with a presentation that manages to be acceptable and no extras at all. [read the full review]

review from 8/6/2014:
The Private Pleasures of John Holmes is notable because it is the only gay film to have starred John Holmes. Because of this, straight and gay oriented viewers may find some curiosity in the title, however because of the cheap nature of the film, John Holmes' obvious lack of enjoyment, and poor transfer, I can't recommend this release for anyone. Sex, swinging, and all types of erotic fun result when John Holmes, who's having an affair on his wife, finds his yellow jeep stolen whilst out shopping one day. The automobile's ultimate path back to him bounces it from one sexy scenario to another, serving as a mechanism for conveying the sex and giving the viewer more than an eyeful. Such is the case in the decent, though plot-light, porn flick of yesteryear, "Heat of the Moment". [read the full review]

Blonde Emmanuelle review summaries:
Flash's
review from 3/17/2016:
Blonde Emmanuelle is an amusing adult take on Casablanca. While Asterix has included the 3D version of the film, the hardcore and R-rated versions are sadly missing. With the hardcore sex scenes missing it becomes a little more obvious how the plot was designed to go from sex scene to sex scene but the thin plot is still fun, the film features a great cast, and the humor still works. Asterix has done a disappointing job with the release with problems with the transfer, only a few truly good extras, and the lack of versions present on the release. Director Stephen Gibson said that there is a 3D Blu-ray coming for the title so it is recommended that you not seek out the old Asterix DVD and wait for the Blu-ray. [read the full review]

"John Holmes: The Man, the Myth, the Legend" (Uncensored) is a fascinating documentary from Pleasure Productions and David Wald that focuses upon the legendary cock-slinger of the 70's and 80's, Mr. Johnny Wadd himself, John Holmes. Presented in an intercut interview format with former friends, directors, fellow performers, etc., this film gives insights into not only his career but also his elusive personality and notorious fibbing, bits and pieces about his childhood, and both his drug use and ultimate, untimely passing from AIDS-related complications. “Flesh and Laces Part II” is a good production from the early 80s that features Jamie Gillis as an ailing patient in a hospital who, despite his illness, still manages to get it on with everyone from his nurses to his lawyer to (*gasp*) his (adopted) daughter. As one might expect, there is enough untamed bush in this one to match the untamed desires of its star, but everything still works out to good effect…particularly given the age of this release. Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here review summaries:

review from 7/21/2015:
Nothing but trouble (...and sex...) follows, when Johnny Wadd (John Holmes) is called down to Mexico to help his old war buddy (Damon Christian) take on a drug dealer who's married Damon's junkie ex-wife (Veronica Taylor). Such is the case in "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here", a tepid 1976 release from Arrow Productions. While the plot is fairly good for a porno of its era (...despite its narrated storyline motif and jumpiness at times...), and there's a decent amount of cheesy, shoot-'em-up style action, the sex itself is incredibly tame...especially given that the legendary cocksman, Holmes, is involved. Indeed, there's plenty of fine fucking to be found in releases from the time period, just not here. There are also better plots from the era, as well. [read the full review]

Overall, Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here is an average adult film. Viewers that are new to the series will probably want to check out some of the better entries first as this film may not want them to see the rest of the Johnny Wadd series. Fans of the series will want to pick up the disc so they can complete their Johnny Wadd collection. Viewers that like long sex scenes or hate tame sex scenes will want to skip this title along with viewers that hate plotted porn. [read the full review]

review from 9/1/2016:
It's a wacky, porny walk back through history as a scraggly, aged narrator (Ebenezer K. Bartholomu) rewrites the early American story to include all manner of sexual encounters involving some of its most beloved figures in "Spirit of Seventy Sex". A very good, 1976 release from VCX and director Godfrey Daniels, this remastered film offers up the likes of George and Martha Washington, Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, John Smith, and so on in a variety of goofy, satire-laced, often intentionally anachronistic romps that ultimately come off as fun, clever, and tongue-in-cheek as they do sexy. Flash's
review from 3/25/2016:
This release from Asterix combines two of Stephen Gibson's Deep Vision 3D movies, one that originally had a hardcore version and one that was only softcore. M-3D!: The Movie is an enjoyable film even though only the soft-X cable cut is available here and The Playmates in Deep Vision 3-D wasn't as good. Asterix did a poor job with this release utilizing poor transfers that don't look very good or work well with the 3D. The extras that have been collected for this release are lacking, to say the least. Stephen Gibson has said that 3D Blu-rays are coming for both titles, so it would be wise to wait for them instead of seeking out the old Asterix DVD. [read the full review]

Fred's
review from 11/16/2004:
With all the talk about rape scenes being taboo now in porn, it's interesting to note that "Little Orphan Dusty" (from the 1970's) is still available, with at least three flat-out rape scenes. The movie, in fact, begins with a major rape scene. Dusty (the actress is a dead-ringer for Farrah Fawcett back when she was on "Charlie's Angels") is walking down the road, when a group of Hells Angels types on motorcycles pull up to her. She seems happy to see them at first, but when one of them pulls at her blouse, she gets the idea that they're not very nice guys and makes a run for it. The bikers chase her through the woods, whooping it up, and eventually corner her in a clearing. Dusty is laid out on top of one of the motorbikes, while a group of bikers hold down her arms and legs (and a lone female biker watches from a distance). The leader of the gang takes out a knife and cuts off her panties, then the others rip off all of her clothes (while she screams "No! No!" to no avail), leaving her nude (and virtually spread-eagle) atop the bike. [read the full review]

A horny, young, European maid, Connie Peterson, finds herself passed around, used, and abused by just about everyone with whom she comes in contact in America...and she wouldn't have it any other way. The Return of Johnny Wadd is a low spot in the long running Johnny Wadd series. The absence of Bob Chinn as a director is noticed and John C. Holmes is looking rather ragged here. Jezebel's
review from 3/10/2006:
This is a compilation of some of Seka's best work - most of them from older Swedish Erotica loops. For those that like sex within threesomes, this is your tape as most of the loops feature two women (one of them being Seka) with a guy. Some are incredibly erotic - like the one starring Seka with Jamie Gillis and a very attractive young woman (who is uncredited, but appears to be none other than Lysa Thatcher - a hot little vixen from the Golden Age of Porn). The sex in this loop is extremely erotic - starting with Jamie spreading and holding the young vixen's sleek silk-stockinged legs apart with his hands - and then feasting on her sweet pussy while Seka undresses. Jamie finally pulls his tongue out of the squirming vixen's sopping pussy and loosens his grip on her stockings. With the vixen's pussy now fully primed by his cunning tongue, Jamie comes up behind the girl (who's laying on her back) and digs his massive cock between the back of her silky thighs up into her still-spasming snatch. review from 2/8/2006:
This compilation is a bit of a let down really. The box cover features a very sexy photo of Vanessa Del Rio, unfortunately the contents of the dvd itself do not justify it. The film looks grainy with no attempt to restore it for today's dvd market and the so-called extras are just phone sex services! The scene with Vanessa is a solo one which starts with her washing a dildo in a kitchen sink. She becomes aroused and... Well you can guess what she does with it! As always she does look awesome, wearing black knee high boots and little else. [read the full review]
JC's
review from 8/25/2005:
Very good compilation of loops made back in the early 80s where hair was long & thick and tattoos hardly were seen. All loops are good, although one stands out in my memory. It is a threesome with Ron Jeremy, a blonde and a luscious brunette. One sequence has the blonde devouring the brunette's creaming pussy while getting pronged doggy-style by Jeremy. Jeremy then sits down and has the brunette ride him like a cowgirl, impaling her sopping pussy on his massive shaft. She thrashes above Ron so wildly that both Ron and the blonde grab hold of the brunette's shiny black satin garter belt with both their hands to prevent her from dislodging Ron's cock. Later, the blonde spreads the brunette's stockinged legs to catch in her mouth any juices that leak out of the brunette's convulsing, orgasming pussy. Ron finally pulls out, spewing his load over the brunette's freshly fucked pussy. The blonde then gathers the slimy sperm in her fingers and rubs it onto the brunette's pussy, satin garter belt and upper body for good measure. [read the full review]

review from 6/16/2016:
An already-bereft, World War 2 Navy man, John Holmes, finds himself stranded and fending for himself on a near-deserted island in the South Pacific after his ship goes down out at sea. Compounding his problems, he soon discovers that he's not alone in this "paradise", as the Nazis have set up a small, nearby radio-monitoring camp staffed by a pervy, lushy letch of a commander and his two carnal-crazy fraulein underlings. In attempting to rescue a pair of nurses also held captive at the camp, Holmes soon finds himself both a prisoner, as well, and at the mercy of this kinky, sadistic, Hitler-obsessed crew. Such is the case in "Prisoner of Paradise", a very good, 1980 release from VCX and directors Gail Palmer and Bob Chinn. [read the full review]

Prisoner of Paradise isn't the most plot motivated adult feature film out there but it isn't a bad feature by any means. The plot is thin and the acting for some of the cast is sketchy but the sex scenes aren't bad. Prisoner of Paradise is nicely shot. VCX has done an acceptable job with the release using a video master and including no extras. [read the full review]

The blonde beauty Jean Jennings' unorthodox initiation into the world of carnal delights at the hands of a depraved priest (Paul Thomas) ultimately finds the young, 19th century woman quickly transitioning from the role of sexual prey to that of perverted predator, all as recounted by a flea who latches onto her and lives to tell the tale. Such is the case in "Autobiography of a Flea", a very good, 1976 release from the Mitchell Brothers and director Sharon McKnight. [read the full review]

The end result is a decent plot-based film that is heavily lacking in the sex department. Viewers who like plot-based adult entertainment, the classics, couples and tame sex should enjoy this film. The virginally naive Candy Christian (played by the blonde bombshell, Carol Connors) unwittingly embarks upon the sexual adventure of a lifetime when her father ends up in the hospital after catching her getting it on with the hired help. Thereafter, Candy finds herself bumbling her way from one end of the country to the other, being taken advantage of by strangers, doctors, a cult leader, and even family members along the way. Fortunately for her (...and the viewer, as well...), she's more or less too ditzy to realize any of it and simply goes along for the sexy ride. Such is the case in the "Erotic Adventures of Candy", a very good, 1978 release from VCX and director Gail Palmer. [read the full review]

If you are contemplating whether to buy the limited edition Lion's Gate release of Wonderland for Wadd or the VCA release of Wadd, despite the fact that the VCA version was apparently changed without the director's permission, this is the superior edition. The movie itself is very close to the version that still bears Cass Paley's name, the extras are excellent and this is the best disc from VCA that I have ever seen. If you are looking for masturbation material, this film isn't a great choice. But if you are looking for a film about one of the most legendary adult stars of all time, John C. review from 5/21/2006:
I heard so many good things about Taxi Girls before I saw it. But, of course when I eventually saw it, well, I was less than satisfied. The premises is promising enough: hookers form a taxi company with the added bonus of sex, but when the film gets down to it, there's just too much sex. Characters and characterization is sacrificed on the alter of carnality. Promising subplots are thrown out in exchanged for excess screwing. There are a few amusing moments, but the film wastes its excellent cast, among them the always welcome Serena and the magnificent Nanci Suiter on material more suited for a perverse elementary school play. Jaacov Jaacovi isn't a bad director technically, but he just doesn't seem to know when a scene has gotten tiresome and repetitive and he must move on. [read the full review]

Although Taxi Girls has several elements going for it, the end result is less than perfect. Fans of one of the stars may want to pick up this title for that reason, but due to the coercion scene at the end of the film, which ruins the light hearted feel of the film I have trouble recommending this film to any particular group. Viewers that hate a porn with their plot, like one on one sex scenes or hate the style of earlier sex scenes will want to avoid this film. Yes, they're bigger than life, but they're also a part of American folklore. Their legends have a knack for getting exaggerated over the course of time. One must stretch his imagination quite a bit to buy into the tall tales told in children's storybooks, however, when it comes to Johnny Wad's wad we've got history recorded on film, videotape, and now DVD. His manhood has taken on mythic proportions--deservedly so, or not--but there's no denying the late poster boy for golden age smut packed some serious wood. With their DVD release of Holmes' pimp film Stormy, I'm surprised NuTech Digital was able to fit his entire dick on just one disc. It's a shame, however, the movie contained on that disc doesn't live up to the grandeur of its star's legend. [read the full review]

This is a complete mess. The menu indicates that there are ten scenes, but there are nowhere near ten complete scenes. There's only one decent length, watchable scene in the whole movie. This DVD consists mostly of scraps and fragments, and the video quality is appalling. Its not that the transfer is especially bad, it's just that the footage looks like it was shot in the silent era. This is a compilation of unrelated scenes featuring the late John C. Holmes, and his incredible 13-inch schlong. (This compilation is vastly superior to another John Holmes compilation DVD that I review on this site) Some of the scenes are from Holmes' Johnny Wadd series from the 1970s, directed by Bob Chinn. The plot and acting from the scenes included in this compilation makes me wish that the whole Johnny Wadd series would be rescued from the vaults and re-issued on DVD. I imagine that most of these movies simply no longer exist, which is too bad. A couple of years ago, Bob Chinn tried to re-start the Johnny Wadd series with a different actor. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a market for expensive, plot-driven features with high production values. These types of movies are out-competed by the flood of much cheaper gonzo material that completely dispenses with plot, writing, acting, outdoor shots, indoor sets, etc. [read the full review]

One of the true adult legends of yesteryear, Marilyn is in top form here...athletic, fit, and firm...and it's clear that she, as of the time of this filming, hasn't lost a sexual step from her earlier days in the industry. This was shot on location in Hawaii and features dozens of exterior shots of the island, as well as a sailboat, a helicopter, some scuba footage, an Aloha airliner, etc. The "Double Indemnity"/"Body Heat" style plot far exceeds any plot you'll see in today's porn. On the downside, this is 24 year-old footage, and it shows. The DVD transfer was pretty good, but the film itself is damaged and peppered with scratches and white spots. Moreover, the women doing porn in the late 1970's were pretty homely by today's standards, but Leslie Bovee is a very handsome woman and exudes an earthy sensuality. On the extras side, there is a full motion chapter-stops menu. The multi-angle gimmick is a complete waste of time, because most of the extra angles are just mirror images. The commentary track is the king of all DVD extras, but none of the people associated with this project are still around and willing to participate. Holmes passed away in 1988, and Leslie Bovee has been out of the business for twenty years. [read the full review]

review from 12/8/1999:
Eruption, a 1978 film starring Holmes and Leslie Bovee, shot on location in Hawaii, is the perfect example of Holmes the actor (instead of just Holmes the big, wonderful cock.) As with other classic porno, Eruption had a complete plot intermingled with hot sex. The story was very Magnum PI-like, and not just because it was filmed in Hawaii. Holmes plays an insurance sales guy who helps Bovee kill her husband to collect on a life insurance policy. The movie has plot twists and exciting moments that don't involve sex (seriously.)You get to watch the Holmes' penis rise to the occasion over and over again -these are captivating moments -getting this man hard is a slow, sensual process. The Top 25 Adult Stars of All Time Directed by Various Running time (approx): 240mins I think there is a very good reason why many hold the classic era of porn (70s, 80s) in such high regard. For me when I first saw films like this, they were normally passed to me on very low quality VHS, sometimes with no sound, or a picture so bad it was almost unwatchable. Porn back then was the holy grail. It was next to impossible to widely obtain (at least here in the UK) and just seeing real sex was amazing. Now it is different. Hardcore for one, is legal in the UK. Porn is now on DVD and the picture quality is never an issue (at least by no means the issue it was) and also, such beautiful women are ready and willing to shed their inhibitions for your viewing enjoyment. It is a different world now, and for me I have come to the realisation that yes, porn in the past was special because it was so forbidden and unobtainable but porn now is in a different league. We compulsively make them, whether they are of our favorite rock bands, favorite movies, best places to eat ribs, favorite sexual positions, or whatever there is in the world that can be counted. It's only natural, then, that there would be a list of the all-time greatest porn stars. Look to the Polls Forum of this very web site, and you'll see such matters continuously debated. Of course, there could be no official list; sex is much too subjective. [read the full review]

review from 7/7/2016:
The path to music superstardom is fraught with users, losers, cutthroat competition, and, of course, plenty of hot, steamy sex, as a young country singer, Marilyn Chambers, quickly discovers. Fortunately for the beautiful adult legend, her smooth, seductive, and sultry style--coupled with her natural talents and street smarts--are enough to overcome any obstacle in her way. Such is the case in "Up 'N Coming", a very good, 1982 release from Godfrey Daniels and I-Candy. [read the full review]

review from 9/13/2000:
Pre Viewing Expectations The case notes this is a classic porn release, and briefly describes the plot. Most of the space on the back is used to list the extras included on the disc, and what a list it is, right down to the Dolby 5.1 sound. I don't have a Dolby 5.1 setup, so I can't comment on this. Too bad the case tells one how to find the bonus photos, half of the fun would have been searching around the various menus looking for the hidden tag. The Main Event This is a golden classis from the early days of Porn. It was produced in the early 1980's and stars the one and only Marilyn Chambers. She brings her own energy to any movie she stars in, which is just as hot now as it was the day she shot it. This movie is no exception. There are eight scenes total, with Marilyn appearing in a majority of those. Many of the scenes show actions we take for granted today, but were virtually unheard of back then. [read the full review]

review from 1/23/2000:
As much as I love iCandy and Marilyn Chambers, I have to admit that the sex is not the highlight of this DVD. Up n Coming is loaded with plot and (aside from Marilyn's enjoyable songs) bad country music. The movie script, the audio commentary and Marilyn are what make this DVD so great. I may be crazy, but Marilyn's body looks even better in this flick than in Insatiable. When she's rubbing herself in the shower, every muscle in her body flexes. This is really a stunning opener, even though it doesn't lead to anything.Plot The plot centers on the trials and tribulations of up and coming country music singer, Cassie Harland (Marilyn.) Cassie learns that PR equals giving good head and falling legends, Lisa DeLeeuw, don't take their loss of stardom lightly. The acting and character development are excellent. So good that you really don't want to see the mean Lisa get any good sex (though she does get a nice threesome with her studly thug and his girlie.)Sex A few sex scenes stand out. review from 11/21/2015:
I actually purchased "Insatiable" more for the content of the extras (the commentary tracks, although unfortunately it turned out the one with Marilyn Chambers is not featured on this DVD release) than the feature itself although it was certainly an acceptable film with plot, acting, technically well done (like most films of the Golden Age), although I was a bit disappointed with the sole commentary tracks by Gloria Leonard (who does not appear in the film). review from 12/8/1999:
Wow. Insatiable is the first classic porno Ive seen and it truly is classic. After watching this movie beginning to end (a porno rarity) I felt compelled to tell all of you how phenomenal it is. The increasing intensity portrayed so well by Marilyn Chambers mirrors the increasing intensity of a fist gripping, teeth clenching, heart pounding roll in the hay. The plot and the sex intermingle like a sensual story rather than a series of action sequences. Insatiable is more than a porno -its a finely constructed, very erotic movie (not to mention the groovin soundtrack.)The initial sex scenes arent even really sex scenes -lots pleasing and teasing, no cum shots. Marilyn does a lot of masturbating while fantasizing which grows increasingly passionate as the film progresses (culminating in an unbelievable scene with John Holmes -seeing him in action gives porn a whole new meaning.)The DVD quality is excellent. You can tell it is an old film by speckles here and there. But the image and the sound are both crisp. The audio commentary is interesting as are the bio and stills of Marilyn. [read the full review]

review from 7/5/2014:
The Danish Connection is the fifth entry in the Johnny Wadd series that doesn't fit in very well with the film canon. It was the first in the series not to be directed by Bob Chinn and is also the only softcore entry in the film series. The film itself is fun and enjoyable, but Something Weird Video's release leaves a lot to be desired. [read the full review]
