Review:
Nothing but trouble (...and sex...) follows, when Johnny Wadd (John Holmes) is called down to Mexico to help his old war buddy (Damon Christian) take on a drug dealer who's married Damon's junkie ex-wife (Veronica Taylor). Such is the case in "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here", a tepid 1976 release from Arrow Productions. While the plot is fairly good for a porno of its era (...despite its narrated storyline motif and jumpiness at times...), and there's a decent amount of cheesy, shoot-'em-up style action, the sex itself is incredibly tame...especially given that the legendary cocksman, Holmes, is involved. Indeed, there's plenty of fine fucking to be found in releases from the time period, just not here. There are also better plots from the era, as well.
In terms of the sex, Scene One pairs up John Holmes with the brunette goddess of the blue screen, Ms. Annette Haven, for a fireside romp. Annette's eager to get it on with him, despite the fact that he's been called away on urgent business. Fortunately, there's always time for her feminine delights, and a sexy oral and vaginal affair follows. John goops up her bush as a present before heading out the door.
In Scene Two, a drug dealer, Tyler Reynolds, gives his junkie wife--and the ex of John's friend--Veronia Taylor a quick poke (literally...that's all it is). She's not into it, and this one is brief, to put it lightly. This could have been much more.
Scene Three finds John in the arms of a Mexican lady pal, Joan Devlon, after having been jumped and spent a night in jail. There's nothing like a spicy senorita to suck and fuck your troubles away, as John finds out, and this carnal coupling ultimately culminates in a pop on Ms. Devlon's backside.
In Scene Four, John hits the sack with a local Mexican woman, Felicia Sanda, who's helping him out. This one is fairly softcore, captured poorly, and lacks a pop-shot. It's a throw-away.
Scene Five proves that the best cure to grieving is a good lay, as John and Veronica Taylor boff it out orally and vaginally. This one is on par with the other strong scene of the production, the opener with Annette Haven. A load on Ms. Taylor's tummy and bush closes out the festivities.
In all, this flick has its ups and its downs, and it isn't a bad watch for those interested in the Johnny Wadd character and / or looking for some cheesy, low-budget, 70s-style action punctuated with sex. For the right--and very limited--audience it might be worth checking out.
