Here is another porn film that follows the time-honored convention of parodying a mainstream movie or television show. Shot on a soundstage in San Francisco in 1982, the movie has the look and feel of the hit seventies and early 80s TV show, M*A*S*H. In fact, the overhead footage at the beginning of the film is the same outdoor set built for the mainstream show. Paul Thomas plays the Hawkeye character, called Jaybird, and Joey Silvera plays the Radar character. The female lead, hot hips Henderson, is played by Jessie St. James, who looks remarkably like hot lips Hoolihan. St. James does a remarkable acting job, and even seems to have some of Loretta Swits style and mannerisms. Unfortunately, this films close similarity to the show it is parodying is about the only thing it has going for it. The sex scenes are brief, a couple of them lack money shots, the women are average in the looks department, and the script is lame. [read the full review]

Directed by Alex De Renzy, "Pretty Peaches 3" garnered much in the way of critical and popular acclaim when it was first released back in 1989. Now, over a decade later, the video holds up only middlingly well despite it's "classic' status. I am not at all sure if today's "XXX-Generation" (those who maintain a steady diet of Max Hardcore and Sodomania) videos will have the patience for it. Shot on film, the DVD is much sharper and has better colors than its original VHS incarnation. For an old-timer like me, it was great to see actresses like Rachel Ryan, Victoria Paris, Tianna and Keisha back in action, although their best work has yet to hit DVD.The movie follows Keisha "on a quest for spritual enlightenment," but her encounters are more physical than anything else. Despite the fashion period of that time, Keisha looks great in just about every scene she's in. Clocking in at 2 hours and 16 minutes this feature is way too long. The story line, for a porno anyway, is way way way too complicated. It is a nice idea to be thorough but does anyone really care about the true history of the sorority, and the meaning of its Cajun roots and legacies? And what the hell is this time warp thing at the end with Jill Kelly's only dialogue in the film? But I do like the witty intelligence thrown in - especially the music references to Warren Zevon and "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" and Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" (those are a few topics I never thought I would encounter in erotic cinema reviews). Oh and the sex --- pretty good stuff - but too many blondes. The standouts are Gere, Ireland, Ashton, and Serenity though the bulk of the picture seems to belong to LaVeaux. Houston's hair was terrible but she gave a good fuck and I can't complain if Stacy Valentine is one of the blondes (though her makeup was terrible). I dropped this happy disk into my DVD player, expecting a fairly brainless ho-hum, low budget porn flick. I should have paid more attention. Two clues went right by me until I watched the opening credits. Clue number one: This is VCA putting out this DVD, so they have the talent. Clue number two: Executive producer is Antonio Passolini. Aha! As far as I can gather, the Upsilon Sigma Sorority has apparently been using voodoo rituals to kidnap fraternity guys to use them for breeding purposes. The girls stay young and fresh through depraved rituals, and use the guys for stud service whenever they feel the need or want children. I don't really see the problem, but I suppose the guys don't like being kept around and screwed silly every now and then. Whatever. As much as I love iCandy and Marilyn Chambers, I have to admit that the sex is not the highlight of this DVD. Up n Coming is loaded with plot and (aside from Marilyn's enjoyable songs) bad country music. The movie script, the audio commentary and Marilyn are what make this DVD so great. I may be crazy, but Marilyn's body looks even better in this flick than in Insatiable. When she's rubbing herself in the shower, every muscle in her body flexes. This is really a stunning opener, even though it doesn't lead to anything.Plot The plot centers on the trials and tribulations of up and coming country music singer, Cassie Harland (Marilyn.) This 1981 film is, of course, a spoof on the 1980 mainstream film "9 to 5" that starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Dabney Coleman. There's even a very nice theme song take-off on the famous Dolly Parton song that went with the mainstream movie. Plot and acting are superior to most seen today, and the sex scenes not only fit the plot, they advance the plot. Although the sex is by today's standards strictly couples fare, this is still a very hot movie and well worthwhile. However, Vivid has done a horrible job with their DVD release of Bad Wives by using what they are calling the director's cut of the film that has excised more of the film then is included on the disc. The result is an absolute hack job that barely even resembles the original film. Vivid promised a Collector's Edition release of the movie with the uncut movie on it over a decade ago that never materialized. Sadly, this reviewer can't recommend this hack job of a modern classic. Unfortunately I did not read andyblake's review before purchasing. I had rented the VHS video and it was fantastic 4.5 stars with outstanding scenes from Tricia Devereaux(love the glasses) and Missy. So I had purchased the DVD for a permanent copy expecting better picture and sound. What VIVID did to the DVD is just wrong. To get their multiangle shots they just cut up the scene. None of the angles are the original full scene. Let me keep this simple. DO NOT BUY THE DVD. By all means get the VHS copy, it was great. Message to VIVID You have permanently lost a customer. I will never purchase/rent a VIVID DVD in the future. Multiangle must have the original scene intact on angle 1, other angles can be used if additional footage is available. [read the full review]

Why am I reviewing this movie now? Well, I've never seen it before. Flashpoint was filmed in 1997 and debuted on VHS in 1998 (I think); the eagerly-anticipated DVD followed in 1999. After enjoying Loaded (featuring Jesse Jane) recently, I thought I'd give a shot at one of the most celebrated adult feature films in the last five or so years. Without a doubt, Jenna Jameson is the biggest adult film star since the late Nineties, but to be honest, I can't count myself amongst the Jenna worshippers. I don't know why this is; she's actually a decent actress and her sex scenes are usually very high caliber. Flashpoint's cast reads like a Who's Who in porn for the late Nineties. We've seen all of them in scenes after this, but watching this 6+ years after it was shot makes them look especially nice; it's like watching Faye Dunaway in Chinatown. Jenna's probably at the pinnacle of her adult career in Flashpoint. The Story Tragedy strikes as a firefighter gets killed in the line of duty. [read the full review]

For many reasons this film works. it is hot, literally. the fire is everywhere -- and the soapy story is entertaining enough for this kind of feature. scene by scene, it is a hot ordeal. The first fuck for Jenna is by the numbers but hot nonetheless. The 2-on-1 with Jill and Johnni is stellar. Though the buildup is odd, without provocation, the results are tour de force for both. Hearing them talk dirty is intense. The orgy fantasy sequence hits the spot. Sindee usually doesnt do it for me, but fucking alonside Jill and Johnni made her good enough. It does have some pacing problems in that there are a few scenes (as beautiful and erotic as they may be) are a too much style over substance. It is only for those select films that I consider to be at the very pinnacle of the industry. This is an honor reserved only for films that I believe will stand the test of time. Most of the music in it is quite nice and well matched, with the exception of a hideous vocal that was playing during the first male/female scene. I'm not a fan of the fetish stuff. In fact, I've bought this film because it was cheap in a shop and a friend told me that is a good film. Yeah, but not at all. This is a film directed by Frank Thring, which is well known in Pirate productions (Pirate is the label for Private fetish films), so maybe I expected more. Anyway, it's not a bad film, but it could have been better. The cast is entirely American, something very very unusual in Private films, so if you want to see natural tits, with no cosmetic surgery operations, you are choosing bad. The girls (from Alexandra Nice to Amber Michaels, passing Alexis Amore and some more) are almost all with artifical breasts, which I think it's a bad point. The acting, even for a porn film, is bad, but at least the sex is fine, especially if you love fetish stuff like licking boots and so on. [read the full review]

I'll be somewhat brief with this one.. no scene by scene breakdown. Largely because I sold the thing off two weeks ago, so I'm writing from memory. Apologies in advance for that, but that says something in itself. Female Cast: Alexandra Nice, Alexis Amore, Allysin Embers, Amber Michaels, Olivia, Harmony Grant. DVD Stuff: Pretty much standard fare for a Private disc. Nicely animated menus, previews, still gallery, internet stuff I need a dvd-rom to look at. The video -quality- is quite good, but the production/lighting is overall poor, which is why I have given this DVD a middling AV quality score. The Feature: Massive Disappointment here - The covergirl Olivia is only in one scene, - an orgy and she (like most of the cast) is hidden by poor lighting and average editing. You get a better look at her on the front and back covers sadly. The female cast were almost all very attractive, and wasted in an overall very poor film.
