Initial Expectations: I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on Kelly The Coed . Since it’s been nominated for a WAD Award I have some hope for it.
Initial Reaction: It’s not bad, but it’s not fabulous either.
Audio /Video Quality: It’s a low budget feature, so it’s not perfect. The audio has some dubbing but most of the dialogue is pretty clear. The video has some grain and suffers some from poor lighting in areas. On the plus side, it’s probably a little more realistic lighting in some of these scenes. Unfortunately, it isn’t that way for all of them.
Music: I think there’s only two songs through the entire movie. They’re normally well balanced but get really annoying.
Review: Fans of schoolgirl sex rejoice! Kelly the Coed is here. Kelly (Allysin Chaynes) has just started college and is eager to explore her new world. We start with Rush Week and Kelly getting invited to a frat party by J. J. Michaels and Mark Vega. Kelly isn’t sure, but her friend Holly (Gwen Summers) wants to go to the party as well as pledge a sorority. They agree to meet at the party before Kelly returns to her dorm room to find her roommate Debbie (De’ Lia) getting busy with a football player (Mark Wood). She agrees to find somewhere else to go and heads off to see her friend Drew (Jay Ashley and no relation to Drew Black, who I hear is highly desired and sought after on most college campuses) who is practicing Quarters.
De’ Lia is new to me and shows a lot of potential. It’s obvious she loves to fuck and Mark Wood is a lucky guy to be able to work her over in this opening scene. Unfortunately, her tutor (Tyce Bune) shows up for their appointment and kicks Mark out of the picture. He trues lecturing Debbie but can’t concentrate with her playing with her schoolgirl pussy. Realizing that he’s not getting anywhere lecturing Debbie, they decide to fuck so they can get on with studying and concentrate on it afterwards. De’ Lia keeps up the momentum she built with Mark and it’s a really good scene. The only downfall is the implied internal cum shot at the end of the scene.
Meanwhile, Drew and Kelly decide that Quarters is a little boring with just drinking and change it to strip quarters. What? Somebody out there thought they wouldn’t fuck? Perish the thought! Jay takes Allysin on in great style on the study room couch. It’s another really good scene that’s hampered by slow motion shots. It’s also a fun scene as Allysin drinks beer and eats pizza while Jay fucks her. I couldn’t help but laugh several times during the scene.
Later, Kelly heads to the toga party where she meets J. J. and Mark. They head upstairs past Mazzie, who’s blowing Brian Surewood, Pat Myne, and John West. The guys explain to Kelly that Mazzie’s father is rich and insists she goes to college, even though she doesn’t want to. To get back at him, she has sex with as many men as possible. For a blowjob scene it’s very well done and Mazzie shows a lot of enthusiasm for sucking cock as well as taking a monster facial to finish it.
In the room, Allysin, J. J., and Mark get it on. Once again, Allysin shows that she’s got what it takes. It’s great to see a porn star do their job with this much enthusiasm rather than transfer it to surgery instead. Allysin is amazing in this scene and takes both guys at the same time.
Downstairs, Holly meets the Rush Chairman (Brandon Iron). He agrees to help her out if she’ll help him out. He even tries to use a little Latin to impress her. It might have worked if he wasn’t so drunk. Luckily he wasn’t so drunk as to not get a blowjob out of it. To quote many an Arkansasan, Gwen sure has a purty mouth. Thankfully she puts it to great use before they go in search of Kelly.
Having finished off Mark and J. J., Kelly’s feeling some urges and heads for the bathroom. We never see her relieve herself, although with the cut I wouldn’t be surprised if it was left in for a European release. On her way out, she’s forced back into the stall by a drunk, sleepwalking Johnny Thrust. Feeling another urge, Kelly gives him a blowjob in the stall. Of course, she checks to make sure that nobody’s around before she blows him as she doesn’t want to get a reputation as a slut. No idea how that might happen.
Finally, Holly finds Kelly and they get ready to head over to the sorority. Before they go, however, Kelly wants to say goodbye to J. J. and finds him with Brian Surewood and Annabel Chong. She can’t believe he’s already with somebody else and isn’t all hung up on her. Myself, I can’t believe he’s with Annabel. She’s never done anything for me and from her world record, I think I’m about the only one. I’ll blame it on J. J.’s drinking. Despite having Annabel, it’s not too bad of a scene and it’s a lot tamer than what I expected from Annabel. It’s not a scene I would have ended the movie with, however.
My biggest complaint about Kelly the Coed would be the slow motion. It’s not something I normally care for and it seemed very over done here. The slow motion shots ruined a lot of the momentum in the sex scenes and brought them down a lot. I normally think of slow motion as something that directors use to lengthen the movie when they don’t have enough footage. Eighty three minutes seems like a pretty average length, so I’m not sure if this is the case or not. Regardless, I think I would have enjoyed Kelly the Coed a little more if it was three or four minutes shorter and didn’t have the slow motion.
Kelly the Coed is pretty much your standard schoolgirl scenes combines with a slight plot. Although it doesn’t sound like much, a lot of it is really fun. The girls are cute and actually look like schoolgirls, as opposed to some other releases out there. There’s also quite a bit of humor and the cast, especially Allysin, seems to be having a lot of fun. In the end, it’s not a really great movie, but it is a lot of fun and slightly better than your average feature.
Extras: Heatwave really went all out with extras. Not only are their bios on all of the women in the cast, they also give you a solo scene with each one also. As with almost any other DVD release, there’s some trailers. This DVD has trailers for Silk Stockings, Africa Rising, Chamber of Whores, and Kelly the Coed 2.
The eleven minute behind the scenes featurette is pretty good. It goes through two of the frat house scenes as well as the initial scene with De’Lia. It’s a lot better than what I expected and you can see some of the low budget nature of the feature. The worst things about it are a) NO TIME CODE, which isn’t crucial here but as most everybody knows is one of my biggest pet peeves, and b) there’s a cheesy CGI lead-in that reminds me of Vivid’s dungeon.
Finally, there’s a bonus movie with the endearing title I Love You, Suck My Dick . I’m not quite sure why this one didn’t make it on it’s own. Actually, it’s only part of the movie and it lasts about forty minutes. The first scene has Earl Slate and a girl whom I don’t know and the second has Kyle Stone and a girl I assume is Natasha. They’re not horrible scenes, but I wouldn’t buy the original movie.
Themes: Straight, school girls, anal, rimming (male > female), spanking, internal cum shot (implied), oral, and DP
Raincoat Factor: High
Overall: Currently, Kelly the Coed can be found online for between $13 and $25 with a few stores offering it for under $15. For $15 you can’t go wrong. It’s a decent movie and great extras. Anybody with a school girl fetish will get their money’s worth.
Note to Heatwave: Good job on this DVD. I haven’t watched many of your DVDs, but if you make them all like this people will take notice.
