Audio / Video Quality: Excellent. This is one of the best quality adult films I have ever seen. The only problem with the entire DVD is in the commentary. I thought that the commentary was a little too quiet, especially Raven Touchstone. I had a hard time hearing most of the comments she made.

The Plot: Jenna Jameson plays Fawn Deering, a college student researching animal mythology and human sexuality. This leads her to Dr. Jade (Asia Carrera) for an interview. While there, she meets Adam (Brad Armstrong) and is drawn to him. Sophie the maid (Missy) warns her to leave Jade Manor and never look back, but Fawn cannot resist Adam's invitation to return that weekend to observe a bacchanal. Sophie tries to get Adam to leave Fawn alone and not share their curse, but Adam has fallen in love with her and does not want to live without her. Unfortunately this means that Fawn will have to become a Satyr like the rest of them. While the transformation takes place, Fawn spends most of her time sleeping and having visions where she sees Adam is his Satyr form. After Fawn is transformed (complete with horn and the legs of a horse), she journeys into Adams room where they profess their love for each other and go at it. Adam finally realizes that he is cursing Fawn for the rest of her lifetime, and sets out to return her to human form.

The Sex: All very well done. The biggest surprise was that many of the scenes did not have a cum shot. Apparently, somebody got the idea that some times it's okay to simply please the woman completely. Perhaps that is one of the reasons many think it is a great couples film. I always thought that one of the main things, sexually, to a couples film was couples scenes, and most of them without anal. Surprisingly, there are very few male / female couples scenes, and most of the scenes had some anal.

In the opening credits, we see Missy eating a fig while touching her pussy. we barely meet Asia, Mickey, and Brad Armstrong before Mickey and Brad start to pleasure Asia. Asia and Mickey also have a very hot scene after Jenna arrives, and is the only couples scene without any anal. Mark Davis and Chloe have very good anal scene at the bacchanal, and Brad and Jenna have a scene is Adam's room where they are both in satyr form and Jenna fingers herself anally. Missy has two girl / girl scenes, one as she fantasizes about Jenna after she shows her to her room and one when Asia punishes her for interfering with their plans for Jenna. Both of these scenes also have anal. Finally, Stacy Valentine gets DP'd by Peter North and Tom Byron in one of Jenna's visions.

The Commentary: No surprise here. The commentary is excellent. There are many behind the scenes stories and a lot of praise for the stars (all well deserved). As I said earlier, the main fault is that most of the comments from Raven Touchstone are extremely hard to hear.

Overall: Despite the high praise I've heard about Satyr (including the 22 AVN nominations), I have been avoiding watching it since it came out. A few of the Michael Zen films I had seen in the past had been quite different, and I was hesitant to watch Satyr when I read the box and saw things about half - humans and half - animals having sex. I'm going to be kicking myself for quite a while for waiting this long to see this.

I'm in awe at the quality of the film. The story is very good. There's a few plot holes, but nothing too bad. The acting is excellent, and the sex is extremely hot. The actors and actresses do an amazing job both in the acting and the sex scenes with some of the costumes they have to wear and locations they have sex in. The first scene is a three way between Asia, Mickey G, and Brad Armstrong in which Asia wears a four pound wig shaped like a bird cage with some gold objects in it. Later, Mark Davis does Chloe in a forest on a large rock. These are typical sex scenes for Satyr, and the cast makes it look effortless.

I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough. Although I don't think this is the best couples film, due to the amount of anal and lesbian scenes, it is still a love story which makes it a good couples film. Don't hesitate to pick this up as I did.
