Hot Times at Copenhagen High review summaries:
Flash's
Hot Times at Copenhagen High is an enjoyable barely legal feature film from the beginning of the 1980s. There isn't much to consider a plot nor is there any reason for the film however Hot Times at Copenhagen High manages to entertain the viewer from start to finish. Hot Times at Copenhagen High is well worth watching for fans of classic adult titles. Gourmet Video Collection has done an abysmal job with their DVD release of Hot Times at Copenhagen High with poor video and audio quality. [read the full review]

Camp Beaverlake (Arrow) review summaries:
Flash's
Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is a great example of everything that went wrong in the video tape era. Camp Beaverlake: The Movie is an early shot on video movie that has already tossed away everything from when adult films were shot on film. There is no real plot and much of what of present appears to be improvised. The movie is poorly shot and, despite Bobby Hollander coming from when adult films were shot on film, comes across as looking very amateur. Arrow has done a poor job with this release utilizing a horrible video master and including no extras. [read the full review]

Johnny Wadd review summaries:
fu_q's
A young, rich woman goes missing, and it falls to a low-rent private investigator, Johnny Wadd (played by the legendary John Holmes), to find and ultimately save her from the clutches of a down and dirty, no good kidnapper. Of course, along the way, subterfuge, chicanery, and greed are all served up in spades...as is a strong side of fucking. Such is the case in "Johnny Wadd", a decent, 1973 release from VCX and director Bob Chinn. [read the full review]

All my old movies mags state that “Johnny Wadd” is to John Homes as James Bond is to Shawn Connery, but for years I have never been able to verify this analogy. Original Sex Academy, The review summaries:
Flash's
The Original Sex Academy is a prime example of how adult movies went wrong when they switched from shot on film productions to shot on video productions. The Original Sex Academy capitalizes on the name of Police Academy, but that is as far as any connection between the two movies. The Original Sex Academy is a series of sex scenes with some plotted portions between them to make the movie look like a feature movie. The sex scenes are average. There isn't any real reason to see this movie. Gourmet Video has done a better than their average job but still not average job with their DVD release with acceptable video and audio quality. This is a typical 1980s porn movie with crazy plot and lame music playing throughout the scenes. Good chance to see what was typical then, but unless you are a collector of vintage porn or want to see a certain star, it's nothing important. It's a chance to see some porn legends like porn stud Peter North, although the movie doesn't really feature any stellar scenes. [read the full review]

Easy (Cal Vista) review summaries:
fu_q's
An unintentional encounter with a loser student leads a repressed-though-sexual, young teacher, Jesie St. James, down a dirty and ultimately unfulfilling path. Indeed, it seems that no matter which turn she takes in her life thereafter--for love, for lust, or for both--Jesi is destined for erotic despair. Such is the case in "Easy", a very good, 1978 release from VCX and director Anthony Spinelli. [read the full review]

Love, lust, and stripping beneath the hot lights all collide, when an all-nude club that's fallen upon hard times pulls out the stops with an amateur night competition that attracts the attention of an innocent, young woman (Shana Evans) who loves nothing more than to dance. Of course, aiding in the process is a friend and adviser (John Leslie) of the club's owner (Herschel Savage), who's also falling hard for the girl. Fountain Of Innocence review summaries:
YogaDame's
Ah, the halcyon days of VCA features. How I miss them. As is typical for the movies I've seen from that not-long-ago era, Fountain of Innocence is a beautiful multi-camera production, attractively lit, skillfully edited, and boasting excellent sound that's enhanced by carefully selected music. The views of the sex are explicit yet pretty. The costumes are a hoot: the perfect swizzle of elegance and tackiness, just right for a porno about a porno. Ron Jeremy stars as a director who's taping History of the Sex World: Part 2. Taren Steele plays an aspiring actress who's about to perform for the first time. Our nervous heroine receives friendly advice and reassurance from a trio of hot blonde veterans: Juli Ashton, Shayla LaVeaux, and Nina Hartley. The conversational flow is pleasingly uncontrived. It sounds as though the performers are discussing their real and very positive experiences in the industry. It all leads to a happy heap of flesh by the swimming pool. [read the full review]

69 Minutes: Evening News 1 review summaries:
fu_q's
"Peace through giving a piece" is the theme for this week's hard-hitting episode of "69 Minutes: Evening News", featuring the sarcastic (...though horny...) news anchor, the lovely Tracey Adams, as she delves into the possibility of achieving world peace through increased sexual contact. Of course, this fine, stereotype-filled piece of investigative journalism finds her interviewing a variety of characters from all corners of the globe, from Cold War ambassadors to Middle Eastern dictators to French sexual athletes and so on and so forth. Needless to say, all of these world figures have at least one thing in common: They like fucking as much as Tracey does. Such is the case in this fun, tongue-in-cheek, 1986 parody of the popular, mainstream news show, "60 Minutes", by director Damon Christian and GVC. [read the full review]

This is a pretty typical mid-nineties porno. The setup is cheesy and overused with a bunch of TV execs screening scenes to show on their porno network, and the sex doesn't stand out in any way. There is some very nice female talent with Johnni Black, Celine Devoux, Kaitlyn Ashley, and Tatianna in the movie, but they never get a chance to shine much due to the camera work and editing. The technical aspects are pretty good when one considers the age of the release, but there's no effort put into the extras (as usual with the VCA Gold Classics line). This release didn't quite make it to the average mark for me. [read the full review]

If you're given a choice between watching this movie and being punched in the gut, even if you haven't been working on your abs the punch to the gut is going to be less painful. When a desperate girl on the street sells Kevin James a ring that she stole from her father, his (...sexual...) luck changes...and so does everyone else's who comes into possession of the bejeweled band. Such is the case in "Ring of Desire", a good, 1981 release from Peter Balakoff and Gourmet Video. Indeed, the ring finds itself passed around the various corners--and between the assorted characters--of Hollywood, from lawyers to actresses to writers to prostitutes and so on, and whoever owns it at the time finds him- or herself quite lucky (...as in "getting lucky"...). With a clever, though simple plot, good acting, a number of shorter sex scenes, and a strong cast, this little fuck-flick from yesteryear is actually a lot of fun and worthy of a watch...particularly for fans of the classics. The Dark Brothers strike again with one of the series they made famous. Of course this movie revolves around anal sex, but there's more than just that here. There could even be aliens trying to suck people's souls out of their colon. Yes, the movie is that fun and creative, but the sex doesn't quite make it past the average level due to the scenes being a bit short and choppy. The technical aspects are very nice for the age of the movie, but unfortunately there's no effort put into the extras. This is a nice movie, and it's too bad that LFP / VCA didn't feel like putting any real effort into the release. [read the full review]

Narrated by its star, the slang-slinging 1980's cutie, Crystal Dawn, "The Erotic World of Crystal Dawn" from VCR (1985) serves up eight sexy scenes nominally drawn from the strawberry blonde coquette's personal experience. Included among the offerings, one finds the full array of pornographic fare, including IR, plenty of anal, girl-on-girl, and DP. Further, Crystal certainly knows how to play the not-so-innocent, barely-legal role well, and she capitalizes upon it to good effect throughout. For those interested in some naughty nostalgia and / or getting to know this early-era anal queen, this one is recommended. [read the full review]

"Anal Security Squad (A.S.S)" (Caballero / Bruce Seven) is an unexpectedly exceptional production from the late-80s featuring the likes of Barbii, Fallon, Bionca, Nina DePonca, and Renee Morgan. In a nutshell, the A.S.S. is an instrument of a tyrannical government bent on prohibiting anal sex amongst its populace. Those who are caught enjoying the pleasures of the backside are imprisoned immediately and without due process. Barbii plays the role of an A.S.S. agent who, after going into deep cover in the "Underground", has seen the errors of her agency's ways and has decided to go rogue...aiding the very people whom she was sent to investigate and arrest. What results is a fun tale of the tail that has its ups and downs (and ins and outs) before closing on a high (and sexy) note. [read the full review]

"Wacky World of X-Rated Bloopers", an overall-decent, 1989 release from Gourmet Video and narrated by Kimberly Carson, is exactly as its name would imply--a collection of bloopers and behind the scenes material from a number of 1980's releases. Funny moments, true missteps, wood issues, and micromanaging directors are all highlighted. A number of stars from the era make appearances, some more so than others, and the release does provide a nice look at life on a porn set from a time period when BTS material really wasn't mass-produced and readily available. While it's not so much a production to get off to, it's certainly interesting and reasonably worth a watch. [read the full review]

Captain Lust and the Pirate Women review summaries:
Flash's
Captain Lust and the Pirate Women is a fun and enjoyable pirate romp to come from the 70s. Nice production values, a funny story, and a lot of sex make this a film worth seeing. Arrow has done a poor job with this release with a subpar transfer and audio. [read the full review]

Teenage Pajama Party, A review summaries:
fu_q's
A giggly gaggle of young girls (18+) sets off on the path toward sexual discovery when a pervy, older sleazebag prank calls their sleepover in "A Teenage Pajama Party". An overall-good, 1977 release from Jim Buckley and Alpha Blue Archives, this flick revolves around the fantasies and "real-life" (film-wise) actions that the call brings about. [read the full review]

Great Sexpectations (VCA) review summaries:
fu_q's
A top-notch porn director (Eric Edwards) isn't looking for love--particularly with his snooty, female lead (Kelly Nichols)--when he's approached by a new producer to film his latest fuck-flick...but that's exactly what he finds in "Great Sexpectations". A very good, 1984 release from VCA and director Henri Pachard, this feature really has it all...from hot sex with often-exceptional setups to a plot and acting that are more than strong enough to carry the viewer's attention throughout. Prom Girls review summaries:
fu_q's
"Prom Girls" is a very good (strong 4-star) late-80s film from director Alex DeRenzy that focuses on the high jinks of the students at an academy as they prepare for their upcoming prom...and also on the attempts of the mucky-mucks at the school to try to curtail their good times. What the viewer is treated to as this all progresses, of course, is a good deal of hot sex featuring both the students and administrators alike...most of whom are quite attractive and into their respective scenes. Taxi Girls (VCX) review summaries:
fu_q's
Tired of police harassment and the daily grind of the life, a group of big city prostitutes led by the utterly gorgeous, aspiring comedian, Nancy Suiter, goes about moving their illicit trade off of the streets and into a taxicab company. Of course, the company takes off like wildfire, which--itself--brings about its own slew of problems. Such is the case in "Taxi Girls" (81 min, 42 sec), an exceptional, 1979 release from VCX and director Jourdan Alexander. [read the full review]
