A Girl Like That (Gourmet Video) Review

Review:
A twisted web of lies and sex results when Merle Michaels ends up secretly hooking to pay the bills so that her guy, Bob Presley, can go back to medical school. Of course, he fails miserably and winds up in the arms of prostitutes himself...all using her "hard" earned money. What will happen when their mutual indiscretions are discovered remains the burning question of the day. Such is the case in "A Girl Like That", an overall-decent, 1979 release from GVC and director Richard Mailer. While this film isn't very long (~60 minutes), and it certainly shows its age, its plot is decent enough to keep the viewer's interest throughout, even to the point of evoking some feelings of sadness over Michaels' situation. Further, though its sex isn't that spectacular for the first four scenes, the last two, which are intercut, certainly help make up for it. They involve a sexy Merle, Marlene Willoughby, Ron Hudd threesome and a harsher Bob, Samantha Fox pairing. Michaels is looking good throughout, and she plays her character in a relatable way, while Willoughby is always a strong actress, as is Fox...who's also a hot, little number. Due to its short running time and delay in getting the hotter action started until the end, most people probably won't enjoy this one that much, though fans of the Golden Age and/or any of the ladies may wish to check it out. It isn't amazing, but it would be okay for a rental (for the right crowd).

In terms of the sex, Scene One pairs up the strawberry blonde cutie and star of the show, Merle Michaels, with her hippy-looking, blond-headed boyfriend, Bob Presley, on their sofa. This quickie is all about her, as Bob plays with her and eats her out a bit. In Scene Two, a hesitant Merle turns her first trick with Ashley Moore in a cheap hotel room. They both perform oral on one another, and Moore takes her pussy, as well. She jerks him off to a cum-shot on her bush and inner-thigh out of reverse-cowgirl in capping off this dirty dicking. Scene Three has Merle briefly blowing Bob on their sofa after a "hard" day's work, while in Scene Four, a street hooker, Gloria Todd, talks Bob into spending Merle's money on her...and an oral and vaginal romp rolls out in a grungy motel (pop on her chest). In Scene Five, Bob gets it on with the kinky, brunette spinner, Samantha Fox, who blows and fucks him and up whom he sticks the new stethoscope that Merle just bought for him (pop on her bush). Concomitant with the last, Scene Six finds Merle and a fellow streetwalker, the brunette Marlene Willoughby, doing a "double"...first 69'ing each other and then treating Ron Hudd to both oral and vaginal pleasure. Ron drops a load on Willoughby's bush, and Michaels provides the post-cum head in capping off this steamy sequence. These last two scenes are certainly hot.
