Girl Next Door 1 (VCA) review summaries:
Tongue in Groove's
Girl Next Door takes an age-old porn theme and throws in some good hard sex with some fairly attractive ladies. The result a stroking good time! Director F.J. Lincoln is better known for his couples flicks, but here he gets a little dirtier without the usual special effects. He uses very short setups (thank you!), good camera angles, and a cast of cuties headed (literally) by Kelly Kline and Fallon Sommers. The first scene is interesting if, for no other reason, it takes place on a trampoline. The action between Roxy Jezel and Chris Cannon is spoiled a bit by traffic noise from a nearby street, but it sizzles nonetheless. She takes an open-mouth facial to end a good scene. What I Liked Kinda cool seeing old faves like Rachel Ashley, Taija Rae, and Sharon Mitchell in their prime suckin' and fuckin'. As a lover of full bush ( yum ) , gotta say I dug full coochie rug look sported here. What I Disliked Well, the whole plot of mayhem ensuing on the day of a wedding rehersal, with new wave band guests appearing, and the groom disappearing was just way too silly. The sex was pretty tame, and quick. Anal ? Not here . Facials and big loads period, nah uh. So we have a bizarre plot, weak ass sex. Shit. Butt Detective is strictly a couples film that could have been great, but instead is ruined by an editor with too many toys to play with on his control board. There are some very hot ladies here, but their performances are completely sabotaged by loud, obnoxious music and MTV-style camera work. This flick is part of what VCA calls its Classics on DVD series. What a misnomer! Calling this a classic is an insult to all the truly great pornos that preceded it. I found myself FF through the sex scenes and watching the plot. That doesnt happen often! The often-humorous storyline has wealthy Jon Dough hiring private eye Harry Spader (Mike Horner) to find a girl - with only a snapshot of her butt as a clue. Horner is as funny in this flick as hes ever been. Juli Ashton is his assistant, and Horner starts his search with Juli in their office. Right from the start, let me say that CASHMERE is a great-looking movie and ana amazing production from VCA. This video directed by the one and only Michael Ninn occasionally goes overboard with the digital effects used throughout the various sex scenes, but unlike his previous efforts like SHOCK, LATEX and the highly disappointing NEW WAVE HOOKERS, they never distract or get in the way of the eroticism (his best work, DECADENCE and DIVA I through III have yet ato appear on DVD. However, I do have a aesthetic complaint about this film, which unfortunately cannot be helped due to the visual setting and theme of this movie. The powder white bouffant wigs which are placed on the head of every girl gets to be a bit much, and makes most of the girls lookalike. Costumes in adult movie are okay, but I prefer spiked high heels and stripper outfits and Victoria's Secret lingerie over period fashion designs any day. We then open with a woman named Diana (Tori Welles) talking to her psychiatrist (Richard Pacheco). It appears that she has sexual problems, although they're not what you would probably imagine. It turns out that Diana's a "chameleon". If you don't know what I mean, just read ahead and you soon will. We then cut into a sizzling sex scene with a woman (April West) taking on two guys (Scott Irish, Axel Horn). After they are finished, the woman goes to the bathroom, where she turns into Diana! She has the ability to change her identities, which she takes to her full advantage. This is much to the chagrin of her boyfriend Marc (Tom Byron), for whom sex is a much more meaningful experience. I used to have a VHS copy of John Leslie's Chameleon, in which Tori Welles seemed to have the ability to change shape at will - although there was a certain element of ambiguity about the events that no reviewer has seemed to pick up on. What exactly was real? The not-sequel from 1992 features Deidre Holland and Rocco Siffredi as a couple of vampiric shape-changers and Ashlyn Gere as an adventurous woman who is seduced and intrigued by them. The plot is less ambiguous this time around, although not exactly mainstream. I suppose the viewer is aided by the obvious loans from other movies, most obviously Tony Scott's The Hunger. Watching the movie I was struck by a realization of how much I had been missing real and intriguing plots in porn. Chameleons is by no means a perfect movie - I did not get the opening scene, which appears to be taken from an entirely different kind of movie. All it seems to do is to establish the bitchiness of the Ashlyn Gere character, and not very effectively. [read the full review]

They first meet at an orgy-style party where one can briefly see a young and hot Sunset Thomas riding on hubby Zach. Deidre stands in a corner looking bored while being touched by another woman. Meanwhile Ashlyn goes to the bathroom and is interrupted by Deidre who suddenly turns into Rocco, the 'real' Rocco still having fun at the party. A sex scene follows between the two and there's quite some energy between them, Rocco finally shooting on Ashlyn's chin and breasts. After the orgy, on their way home, Rocco is grumpy since his energy has been partially drained by Deidre during her transformation... Things get worse when Ashlyn turns up again at their home.
