Initial Expectations: Passolini makes some of the best adult films out there, and I really enjoyed the original. I can’t help but have extremely high expectations.

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with VCA and Passolini, the technical apsects are great! The audio is clear and nicely balanced. The video has a slight softness to it, but at the same time feels very clear. The lighting changes a bit from scene to scene, but in each case works very well.

Music: Antonio Passolini also did the music for the feature, and did a great job with it. It changes throughout the feature and includes some funky seventies stuff, some Mexican styled stuff, and some electronic stuff just to name a few. It enhances each of the scenes, and is balanced just on the edge of almost being too loud. Some of it will be familiar with Passolini fans, but it all works great.

Menus: The main menu has some of the feel of VCA’s standard menu, but is different enough to make it tolerable. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a title for the scene, and also allows you to jump to one of a few places in each scene. They’re decent menus, and definitely above average, but still felt a little lacking to me.

The Feature: Twenty four years ago Sex World was the place to fulfill all your sexual fantasies, where they’d help them come true with the help of their robotic aides. It didn’t matter if you were into hillbilly snatch, hairy pooter holes, or even barnyard bonanza (which I don’t think is lusting for Loren Greene). As the years passed by, Sex World just became a spooky old mansion that people forgot about. Unfortunately, newlyweds Julie Meadows and Randy Spears didn’t know about it when their car broke down about a mile down the road. They’re forced to spend the night since the phone isn’t working at the moment, but should be up by morning.

Voodoo has his fantasies fulfilled by nurse Nicole Sheridan, cheerleader Sandy Knight, and stewardess Justine Romee after his penile reduction surgery. The girls start out testing out his now-huge cock orally before Nicole hops up to ride it. The other girls stay busy also, with Justine riding Voodoo’s tongue and Sandy helping out down below. It’s another great scene with a nice fun spirit. It reminded me quite a bit of Kylie Ireland’s wedding scene from Passolini’s Raw, and has almost as much heat and energy.

Throughout it all, the girls occasionally throw looks at Randy and the bunny. It’s an extremely hot scene with great chemistry and energy.

Finally, Randy and Julie get their wedding nookie, starting with Julie giving Randy some of her great head. Randy returns the favor tonguing Julie’s clit before she hops on to ride him cowgirl style. They work through missionary and doggie before Randy decorates Julie’s great ass. It’s a great final scene that has some of the best chemistry in the entire feature, just as it should. There’s a great loving feel to the scene, and some nice energy as well.

Sex World 2002 is a very well done sequel with a definite Passolini feel. In some ways, it’s even an improvement over the original. Where the original stretched itself a little thin by using a few too many people, Passolini keeps the same ideas while concentrating on only one couple. Passolini keeps with more common fantasies than in the original, but it still works very well. Passoini’s story is helped quite a bit by Julie Meadows and Randy Spears, who play their roles with a nice reality and believability that most people can relate to, while also providing some extremely hot sex scenes. All that story stuff wouldn’t really matter here if Passolini made sex scenes about as exciting as the sex movies they make eighth graders watch, but that’s not a worry. The sex here is dang near flawless, and just barely missed getting a perfect 5. Sex World 2002 is a great and extremely unique feature that’s a fantastic alternative to all the status quo porn out there.

Extras: Audio bios are included for Julie Meadows, Bridgette Kerkove, Keri Windsor, and Gina Ryder. Each one includes a bit of personal information, a few stills, and a link to the star’s scene. The photo gallery lasts almost two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per very nice looking full screen photo, but there’s also a behind the scenes photo gallery with about eighteen very nice looking snapshots. Trailers are provided to Antonio Passolini’s New Wave Hookers 6, Cap’n Mongo’s Porno Playhouse, and Raw. Of course there’s internet and contact information, since no DVD would be complete without them, but there’s a few other nice extras. There’s about six minutes of outtakes including plenty of flubbed lines and giggling, a little screwing around, and a few sexual outtakes, almost all of which are a lot of fun. There’s also multiple angles, which unlike those included from most studios, appear to all be true multiple angles.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about fourteen minutes. Unlike most behind the scenes featurettes, this one gives a lot of attention to the crew doing things like moving props around. It’s also very chopped up, with many sequences being fifteen seconds at the most. This makes the featurette seem much longer than it is, and not in the good way. There’s still a fair amount of good stuff, but you might want to keep your remote handy to get past a lot of the filler.

Of course, the main extra is the commentary with Julie Meadows, Randy Spears, and producer Jim Malibu. Antonio Passolini joins them for the last forty five minutes or so, but speaks “Italian” most of the time so most people won’t be able to understand him. The cast, however, does a very good job translating what Antonio says. There’s a bit of good stuff, but most of it is just the group having a lot of fun watching the movie. There’s no really great secrets revealed, but it is fun to listen to.

There’s also a few hidden extras, such as a wall to wall sex option (which lets you watch the movie without any fast forward fodder) and a bonus scene (although the cover states the plural with bonus scenes). The bonus scene is between Julie Meadows and Randy Spears and appears to be them screwing around between takes. The camera wanders in while Randy’s going down on her, and they decide to let him star around and watch. Julie thanks him properly with a nice hummer and then lets Randy pump her from behind. They continue on with cowgirl and mish with Julie in a chair before she lets Randy decorate her chest. It’s a pretty hot and fun scene, and makes a great extra.

Overall: Currently, most VCA DVDs can be found online for between $20 and $25. This is a very fair price for what you get. The movie’s fun, hot, and unique, and has a great transfer and very good extras.

Note to VCA: Easter Eggs are nice, but when they have things like bonus scenes I don’t think most people like having to search for them. I’m very glad you actually told people about the bonus scene on the cover, since otherwise I think most people might have missed it.
