Audio /Video Quality: As a rule, you don’t expect compilations to have consistent technical aspects. Thankfully, VCA pays enough attention to the technical aspects that their compilations are fairly consistent. The audio is normally clear and well balanced, with the only dubbing being in some of Michael Ninn’s extremely artistic scenes that are included here. The video has some slight grain, which is to be expected with a feature that’s over five years old, but looks great when one considers the age of the feature and the scenes it contains. There’s only a few shadows, and very few of those interfere with the picture.

Music: As usual with most compilations, the style and balance of the music isn’t consistent throughout the feature. The style is pretty consistent with your typical porn music, and the balance is normally very nice.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu has a clip from one of the scenes and VCA’s standard format. The chapter menu is nicely done and lists each scene by the name of the feature it comes from and Juli’s partners in each scene (although they’re often listen incorrectly).

The Feature: VCA’s Deep Inside series adds a twist to the standard compilation feature by wrapping it around an interview with the chosen star. In this case it’s the amazing Juli Ashton, who seemed to develope a fan base as fast as anybody could watch her movies. Juli talks about what she was like growing up, her first experiences with porn, and how she got into the industry. She also talks about her movies, other performances, and herself sexually.

Things start out with Juli’s scene from The Butt Detective. Juli Ashton heads back to Elvis impersonating T. T. Boy’s place since he says his girl, Marilyn Monroe-like Rebecca Bardoux, has an ass that looks just like the one in the picture. They let the oral love flow all around to get things started. T. T. moves on to fuck Rebecca and Juli’s pussy and ass, giving Rebecca the first turn each time. The girls nicely work each other over as they’re getting fucked, and Rebecca even licks a good portion of T. T.’s man chowder off Juli’s face at the end of the scene. It’s a really hot scene with great chemistry. I don’t know why, but the artistic effects didn’t interfere quite as much this time, but they were definitely still there.

Juli teams up with Jeanna Fine, Cal Jammer, Mark Davis, and Nick East for a scene from DMJ 5 next. Juli is the center of a Roman orgy complete with togas, and immediately shows why she was passed over for the virgin sacrifice. She keeps a cock in her mouth almost constantly, and has a finger or cock in her ass almost as much. Juli takes the double penetration, and keeps things going amazingly well through the entire scene. The guys finish things up jerking themselves into Jeanna’s hands and letting Juli lap it up from there. It’s an extremely hot scene, and I can see why so many people want this movie on DVD!

Juli gets it on with Tiffany Mynx in a scene from Mutual Consent. Tiffany works her way down to Juli’s snatch, and gives it some serious tongue action before working in a couple fingers. Juli repays Tiffany with a little tongue action as Tiffany straddles her face, licking her both through Tiffany’s panties and around them. Tiffany works on Juli with a vibe a little more before they grind against each other to finish things up and collapse into each others arms. It’s a very hot lesbian scene, and shows why sometimes toys aren’t needed. Yes, there’s a vibe here, but the scene could have been complete without it. Regardless, it’s a very hot scene with great chemistry.

Things stick with Mutual Consent for Juli’s scene with Mark Davis next. They start out in bed, appearing as if they might be a married couple. Juli works her way down to give Mark some head, an oral favor which he soon after returns with plenty of interest. They fuck in both the cowgirls as well as doggie style before Juli takes Mark’s spunk all over her tits. It’s a very good scene with excellent chemistry. There’s plenty of energy, and things feel pretty natural.

Juli’s scene from Attitude with Joey Silvera is next. She starts out with a box on her head, and slaps Joey around a little after he lets her take the box off. Finally, things journey back to the real world where Kelly takes care of herself a bit with a dildo before getting dressed. It’s a pretty good scene, and although the fantasy scenario doesn’t come to a really complete end, it works well as a fantasy.

I love seeing Rocco getting a little anal attention, as it’s something that one rarely sees in porn and something that many men enjoy and even more are afraid of.

Juli, looking extremely hot in some red and black fetishwear, takes on Tom Byron and Cal Jammer in a scene from Latex. She lets Tom work over each of her holes while sucking Cal before they both pop on her face. It’s a pretty good scene, and as usual with Michael Ninn, it’s pretty artistic.

Finally, Juli takes part in an orgy with Jill Kelly, Missy, Sindee Coxx, Kim Kataine, Shelby Stevens, T. T. Boy, Tom Byron, Mark Davis, Vince Voyeur and possibly even a few others. Juli gets plenty of attention through the scene, and takes several DPs before finishing things up wtih a few facials. Sadly, the camera work and editing really held this scene back for me. It focused on close-ups so often that I rarely knew who was fucking, which left me disinterested after the first few minutes. While Juli takes on the guys, the other girls work each other over, but they’re given so little camera time that they might as well have been on another set. This is easily the worst scene in the feature, and being that it’s the special scene for the feature, it ends up bringing the entire thing down a notch.

Deep Inside Juli Ashton is another great addition to this series. Juli comes across as friendly as ever throughout her entire interview. She seems very normal, yet very sexual at the same time. These two facets of her merge to show a woman who’s extremely confident in her sexuality, and that there’s nothing wrong with that. The sex is just as good, as almost every scene here is a winner. There’s plenty of nastier stuff that most people don’t think of VCA for, such as a heavy anal emphasis and quite a few DPs, which was great to see. Deep Inside Juli Ashton is a must-have movie for anybody who’s a fan of Juli, and well worth checking out for anybody who has yet to watch her in action.

Extras: A short bio is included for Juli including a few photos, a list of some of her VCA credits, and a link to one of her scenes. The photo gallery lasts about two minutes with about seven seconds per decent looking full screen photo. Trailers are included for Love’s Passion,Being With Juli Ashton, and the amazing Bliss. There’s also internet and contact information and the standard Jim Holliday narrated Hall of Fame featurette.

Overall: Currently, most of VCA’s Deep Iniside series can be found online for between $18 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. If you’re a fan of Juli, you’ll be very happy with this one. The sex is hot and you get a very nice interview with her. Sadly, there aren’t any worthwhile extras, but the transfer is nicely done.

Note to VCA: This is a great compilation line, but the sameness of the extras holds it back a little. With the age of the feature, a bonus scene from one of Juli’s more recent films would have made a great extra.
