Initial Expectations: I don’t know why, but for some reason I have really high expectations for this title.

Initial Reaction: Although the artistic effects get in the way at times, it’s still a lot of fun and pretty hot.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Juli Ashton and couples and anybody else who wants a bit of an anal emphasis with a fun plot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who doesn’t like artistic effects done ot the video

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced. The video is also very clear, but there are quite a few effects added to the video which makes me think that some of the movie was done for people with beer goggles.

Music: The music can get a little loud at times, but it’s also extremely fun. It changes a little to suit the scenes, and even includes lyrics at times.

Menus: The menus are extremely basic. There’s no animation to the main menu and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature: It’s a standard thing for a detective. Somebody comes in and wants you to find an asshole. In Mike Horner’s case, that’s exactly what Jon Dough wants him to do. He hands her a couple bend-over Polaroids and gives him a little information for Mike to go on, and even gives him a ten grand retainer with another ninety grand promised if he can find her.

Mike Horner starts his search out with secretary Juli Ashton. She turns him down at first, but when he offers to give her a grand if it’s her she quickly hoists up her skirt to show off her white cotton panties, which Mike licks and gropes his way around as she strips down. He lets his fingers and tongue warm up Juli’s holes before she drops down to polish his knob. Juli lets Mike fuck her missionary style on his desk and doggie style before warming her ass up with a plug while he rubs her clit. Juli lets Mike fuck her ass before he gives her a dismal facial that barely even counts as a pop shot. It’s a pretty hot scene with nice energy and chemistry. As always, Mike is the master of facial expressions, and Juli smiles a few times and shows some very nice enjoyment as well. It’s a nice way to start out the movie, but the pop definitely brings things down a little.

Next, Mike checks out Amber Woods after Juli gives him a few tips so he doesn’t get in any trouble. Ariana quickly takes notice of Amber’s ass and comes over to join her and Mike. They work their way around so that everybody gets a little oral action. Amber gets her turn first, laying back on the bar to take it missionary style while Ariana rides her face. Ariana gets her turn next, and lets Mike take care of each of her holes as she lays back on a few barstools. Ariana eats Amber a little as Mike fucks her, and then takes his guy goo on her cunt to finish things up. It’s a pretty good scene, but the artistic additions get in the way a bit here. I was also a little disappointed since the camera never showed all of the action on the screen at once.

Meanwhile, Juli Ashton heads back to Elvis impersonating T. T. Boy’s place since he says his girl, Marilyn Monroe-like Rebecca Bardoux, has an ass that looks just like the one in the picture. They team up on Rebecca’s pussy and ass before letting the oral love flow all around. T. T. moves on to fuck Rebecca and Juli’s pussy and ass, giving Rebecca the first turn each time. It’s a really hot scene with great chemistry. I don’t know why, but the artistic effects didn’t interfere quite as much this time, but they were definitely still there.

Mike Horner starts checking out Tammi Ann as she looks at one of the displays in an adult store next. After talking to her for a couple moments, Tammi decides she’d rather have some of what Nick East offers, and drops down to suck Nick’s rod. Mike gets his turn as well as Nick fucks Tammi from behind. Mike also get to fuck Tammi from behind, but she doesn’t give him much time before she has Nick bone her again, this time missionary style, first in her pussy and then her ass. Finally, Tammi has Mike pop on her tits and Nick on her stomach. Tammi Ann is a person who’s never done much for me for some reason, but she does a very good job here. She’s energetic and demands more and more through almost the entire scene.

Juli Ashton checks out Vanessa Chase and Nicole Lace’s tooshie in a gym locker room next. The girls break out some baby oil and dildos, and even DP Juli a few times. Vanessa shares a double dildo with Nicole as well as Juli, as the girls work the toys all around. It’s an extremely hot and fun scene that has both great chemistry and energy.

Vanessa Chase returns for the next scene, this time to take on Tom Byron. Tom works Vanessa’s holes over with his tongue and fingers before she gobbles his knob in return. Tom lets Vanessa ride him as Mike compares her to his photos, and then spears her sphincter missionary style after Mike leaves. Finally, Tom gives Vanessa a very impressive facial that she doesn’t shy away from in the least. It’s another very hot scene, and my only complaint here is the limited number of positions for the scene. Even with the limited positions, Vanessa is hotter than heck here!

Rick Masters and Dave Hardman take on Jordan Lee while Alex Sanders takes on Beverly Glen in the penultimate scene. As they fuck, Juli and Mike make their way around to try and match it with their Polaroids. Amazingly, Jordan takes several double anals, while Juli once again works her way between a couple. Beverly takes it in the ass before Alex pops on it, and Jordan has Dave and Rick finish things up on her face. It’s a slightly odd scene that ends up feeling a little like a clusterfuck. I guess this is only fitting here, but it doesn’t make the scene the best to watch.

Jon Dough finishes things up with Tammi Ann. After a little oral action, they work through several positions, including both vaginal and anal sex. Jon finishes things up pulling out and spraying Tammi’s pussy. This scene didn’t do much for me. It’s done with a kind of dream-like feel, and all I could do was shake my head through much of the scene. Tammi and Jon look like they’re getting into it, but there’s so many cuts here that it quickly lost me, and the overlighting of the scene also interfered for me.

I’ve heard that quite a few people were The Butt Detective to appear on DVD, and I can see why. The movie is a lot of fun, and has a definite sense of humor. The sex is also very good, and even has an anal emphasis. I can’t help but really like this because I enjoy both porn with plots and watching anal sex, and sadly, nobody seems to want to combine these two things any more. I’m sure there are plenty of couples out there who’d like to watch anal sex, but sadly the idea now is that anything with a plot seems to have to be tame, and even worse, boring. The Butt Detective is neither of these. Yes, it is artistic, and sadly that does get in the way of things now and then. It also helps the movie feel unique, which is almost always a good thing. The Butt Detective is a hot and fun movie, and definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of porn with a plot and anal sex.

The photo gallery lasts about two and a third minutes, with about twenty seconds per slightly below average full screen photo. Overall: Currently, most VCA DVDs can be found online for between $18 and $25 with many stores offering them for about $20. If you like plot and anal sex, this one should go at the top of your porn shopping list. The movie’s fun and has a lot of anal, although the artistic effects might turn some people off. The technical aspects are still well done, but there isn’t much for extras.
