Secrets of the Velvet Ring Wicked Running Time: 118 minutes The story in this Wicked feature revolves around "sex club" with a female only membership. Men are in the club but they are only there as the ladies playthings. After the ladies come to the club a few times they are offered membership and velvet choke for there neck. Each night they have a drawing and the chosen few get there fantasy fulfilled. Stormy is the main star in this feature and she has 3 scenes. Her first scene is with Alexis Amore. Initial Reaction: Its well done, but has some definite faults. Its nicely balanced, but there are a few places where it doesnt synch. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" I have had two experiences with Vivid Video. This is my second. I have to say, if they released more movies like this, I would buy them a lot more often. The Movie: Normally I talk about the sex and the plot seperate, but it's very hard to do that with this film because both are so tied together. The basic story is of a fairly nerdy, yet attractive young man who becomes obsessed with a masseuse. The story is simple, and yet, because the entire cast is great in their roles, it feels so much deeper. The script is very strong, the direction is very proffesional, and the acting is top notch. Now, I know Jenna is on the cover, but this isn't really her movie. The movie actually belongs to her real life husband, who plays the lead nerd. He carries this movie, and does an amazing job. I was very suprised. This is a hard movie for me to call a porno because, while the sex is graphic and very hot, it really is more because you are invested in the characters that you are watching. The good news is, this one is bad in ways that are occasionally hilarious. The plot: It's sort of a "Heaven Can Wait" device. Carmen is doing research on paranormal activity at a cemetery. A ghostly Steven St. Croix shows her how she can relive the fondest memories of the dearly departed from other eras. Luckily for us, they think about fucking a lot. They don't call it a boneyard for nothing (rim shot). The play-by-play: We start with Nevaeh Ashton and Cheyne Collins at a picnic at the turn of the century, with appropriate costumes. Title: Conquest: Special Collectors Edition Released by: Wicked Pictures Normally you dont hear "adult film" and "special collectors edition" together in the same DVD. But the folks at Wicked Pictures brought the two together quite well. Ok, lets start with the movie. This is a movie about pirates that actually uses a REAL ship. Were not talking the set of a ship or an elaborate mock-up with a green-screen ocean. Im sure that set producers back quite a bit, which probably also explained why they only used ONE ship. Period costumes, period weapons, and some attempts at period language. Now without even watching the opening credits, I knew that this was an Adam & Eve production, even if it was released by Wicked Pictures. How do I know, you ask? Because of the excessive use of slow motion, especially during the sex scenes. Well fortunately they dont go overboard as they did with some other movies ("Caribbean Undercover" comes to mind). Sex and Romance is strictly couples fare, and its only marginally decent at that. Raincoaters should pass. The story revolves around blond cutie Jessica Drake, a horny novelist who writes randy tomes that come to life as she types away. "A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn" I was actually looking forward to this movie. I had liked "Blue Movie", and had wanted to see Jonathan Morgan perform, so I decided to go with Silver Screen Confidential. Was it worth the look? Not really. The Movie: First off, this movie is horribly directed. Some would say that since it's porn it doesn't need to be well directed, but the problems with the direction seem to really hurt the sex scenes. Everything is shot so close that you almost get hypnotized by the testicles flying by on the screen. Plus, when all you see is the insertion, you loose a lot of heat, missing some of the reactions you would have gotten if the camera had pulled back. The only exception to this was the scene with T.T. Boy and Jenna Jameson. You can tell those two love working together, and the scene generates decent heat. Now, I'm not saying the sex is bad, it's just so badly shot that things just get kind of dull. There are five scenes total, three guy girl, one girl/girl/guy, and one guy/girl/guy.
